Chapter 417 - Chapter 417: Muten Slash

Without a doubt, the greatest commonality between Earth and Namek was the Dragon Balls.

Earth's Dragon Balls, created by the Earth's Celestial Deities.

Namek's Dragon Balls, created by the Namekians.

But why did Dabura want to destroy these two planets that possessed Dragon Balls?

Taro's gaze, sharp as lightning, stared directly at the exploding Namek. The scene formed by the planet's explosion was both beautiful and cruel, an extreme spectacle… He carefully tried to sense the fluctuations of the Namekian life energy within it.

But it was too difficult—not only was it nearly impossible for the Namekians to survive such an explosion, but since Taro could easily sense natural energy, trying to distinguish and locate signs of life in such an environment made the task even harder.

Why kill every last Namekian and Earthling… what was the reason?

Was it because of something they had done, requiring such complete eradication with no traces left?

Or was it simply like in the original story when the aged Demon King Piccolo, after making a wish, lost his mind, destroyed Shenron, and in a fit of joy wiped out the entire planet's population?

Taro speculated on the mindset of such a madman.

Both Dabura and Demon King Piccolo were demons; their ways of thinking might share common traits.

After Demon King Piccolo made a wish on Earth to regain his youth, he suddenly killed Shenron. His reasoning seemed to be… "Once Shenron is dead, nothing can threaten me, Demon King Piccolo."

In other words, Demon King Piccolo, having benefited from Shenron's wishes, believed Shenron could still pose a threat to him.

Would Dabura think the same?

His power far surpassed Demon King Piccolo's, at a level comparable to Lightning Cell. How could he possibly fear Shenron? Neither Shenron nor Porunga could threaten his life.

Could it be he feared someone discovering what wishes he had made through the Dragon Balls?

Or that someone might use the Dragon Balls to nullify his past wishes?

Taro furrowed his brow the entire time. His intuition told him something didn't add up… For example, why was Earth destroyed first, then Namek? And why had Dabura learned instant transmission? The latter could be explained by wishing to Shenron, but the former carried an eerie undertone.

He recalled the sudden "impulse" that caught his attention earlier—an unexpected disturbance planted in Goku's spirit, which led to a strange feeling, triggering a resonance that allowed him to deduce and rush over.

The cause was Goku dying in Earth's explosion.

Or perhaps…

Taro's eyes flickered repeatedly, feeling a bit regretful. Just now, in his rush to kill Dabura outright, he hadn't bothered to use ki to illuminate and clearly see Dabura's face… so he didn't notice whether or not Dabura had the "M"-shaped curse mark on his forehead.

That mark was a symbol of being controlled by the evil sorcerer Babidi.

But Taro hadn't seen it clearly… At that moment, Dabura was backlit by the ultimate fire of Namek's massive explosion, his entire figure engulfed in darkness, impossible to discern any concrete features. Only a black silhouette remained, besides a chillingly sinister smile and a pair of dark red, malevolent eyes. Taro couldn't make out anything else.

Taro immediately sensed that Dabura vanished without a trace in an instant, most likely using instant transmission to somewhere unknown… Was he acting under Babidi's command behind the scenes, or had this world's space-time itself changed drastically because of his arrival, making Dabura different from the original story?

---

With Taro's focused thinking speed, he had only pondered for a few minutes beside the Namek explosion.

Finally, he sighed silently and planned to leave.

There were no Dragon Balls left in this world; all had been destroyed. If he wanted to revive Earth and Namek here… Taro would have to return to the main timeline and bring Dragon Balls from there to wish everything restored.

Perhaps once Goku and the Namekians were all revived, they could tell him exactly what had happened.

In Taro's eyes, the ripple-shaped magatama pattern reappeared. A wave of spacetime fluctuation radiated from his gaze, seeping into the limited space before him. Then, Taro's figure began to fade like ripples on a lake surface, becoming ethereal...

His pupil power condensed like a sword, traveling through countless fragments of spacetime, while his spirit surged and became highly sensitive.

Taro's figure blurred... then suddenly solidified again, canceling the Divine Might of his Spacetime Pupil Technique!

Who dares spy?!

He abruptly looked toward a certain direction and shouted silently. A sharp gleam burst in his eyes, projecting a divine light—an emanation from his mental will and divine nature... Boom! This wave of energy spread through the cold, dark void of space, vanishing into the unknown.

Somewhere else, a presence furrowed their brow, then let out a chilling smile, waving their hand to erase the image before them.

Outside the explosion of Namek, Taro furrowed his brows in thought. When he left just now, he had been somewhat alert—sure enough... someone had been spying on him! Since entering this timeline, he'd had a strange feeling in his heart, a flicker of suspicion. That was why he paid special attention.

If not for his century-spanning accumulation of spiritual power, he likely wouldn't have caught that fleeting abnormal mental signal.

After all, mental will and divine nature were not his main focus of study.

Taro narrowed his eyes... who could be spying on him from some unknown place?

Babidi?

Using the Divine Might of his Pupil Technique once more, Taro's figure truly vanished, returning to his own timeline.

---

In an immeasurable vast space, a wave of fluctuation emerged, and Taro's figure appeared with a single step.

This was the Hyperbolic Time Chamber of the Earth Lookout in the main timeline.

Because he once comprehended the Spacetime Pupil Technique right here, Taro's Divine Might Pupil Technique had a special connection with this space... similar to how Uchiha Obito and Hatake Kakashi's Mangekyo connected to that alternate dimension.

Taro returned directly here from that parallel timeline.

Pausing for a moment, Taro then flew toward the sleeping quarters of the Hyperbolic Time Chamber... Opening the door, he left and ascended, returning to the top of the Earth Sanctuary.

Outside the palace, he saw Kami in a blue robe standing in the plaza, along with Mr. Popo.

Also, a small figure was swinging a blade.

It was Yajirobe, wearing his usual clothes over a black weighted training suit, with black wrist guards and boots... clearly similar to the weighted suit Goku once received in the sanctuary.

The chubby kid... no, Yajirobe was no longer even remotely chubby. Though short, he was incredibly lean, concentrating deeply as he swung the blade.

While the sword was sheathed, Yajirobe's hand rested on the hilt, his eyes calm and expressionless, like a deep, still well. Suddenly, his eyes gleamed sharply, and at the same moment, the blade was drawn—

Clang!

A flash of blade light sliced through the air. Yajirobe returned the sword to its sheath in an instant. The sword stance in that moment astonished both Tenshin Piccolo and Mr. Popo, especially Piccolo, who smiled and said, "Very good, Yajirobe. You've finally fused the Muken into your sword technique... This slash should be called the 'Muten Slash'."

"Call it whatever you want..." Yajirobe nodded. Then he noticed a gray-haired person emerging from the palace. Surprised, he looked at the person, but they only smiled faintly and disappeared right there. Yajirobe stared, dumbfounded.
