Shivering grip, releasing is a deathwish. The power is on all time low, turning their flesh to ice. For it felt like near subzero here, while it were merely a fraction of subzero itself.
'Come on, man. The quicker you get up there, the more quality you get over rest!' His head is filled with this message every time he slows down.
And yet, it isn't his own. It's a lady ahead of him, and she's the one leading this deathwish. Like she know the way or something.
He finnaly reach a nearby cavern, the steepness of this climb is none he had ecounter. Good thing his body is strong enough to get here.
This cavern, it was freezing like there's moisture here anyways. Every exhale turn to fog of ice, and the vision in front of him was his companion. Resting and practically glowing.
She was clear enough to be seen in darkness, white fur and feral. Ears popping out off her black hood, I can tell it was flipped outside in.
Done waiting, she rub her hands against the sediment on these frozen walls. "Track of civilization."
The man's gaze turn back to the cliff, and it really isn't just a cliff. While the lady keep examining the same wall, all of it was the same.
"I think this is connected to a fallen bridge, but why is this small?" You see a lot of unnatural pieces of rock stick out to the calm snow, clearer than all you can see before.
The lady's left side lies a corridor, there's nothing visible there. "Enter?"
"Yeah, let's do it."
The lady went luminescent with further they go, what lies beneath?
Steps upon steps were taken, sediment crumbs, brittle ices, and anything between always keeping the silence away. Although choir of breeze mostly fades, and it was never out of reach.
At some point of their journey into the depth, the lady notice a change.
'It's a bit warmer here, you can feel it?' It's a different telepathic message this time, avoid further noise pollution. It's bad enough, and unstable.
The man nods, he too notices after a few steps.
It's got to the point where there's no longer a corridor echo, but a large room echoes. 'It seems like we find a place to rest, good one.'
The lady put down her bag, a pattern glow after she put it down. 'You stay here, I'd like to explore here real quick.'
He nods, she walk away without further response.
The silence, this place offers nothing but silence. Dripping water merely an occasion, the rest are just pure silence.
Lights grow bigger besides him, The lady's bag. It enabling him to write about the day, pencil and book had pulled out of his own belongings.
"Days oh days, it is great to meet you again dear diary." Like he didn't write this every night.
"It's been a while since the last place like this, it definitely less loud than before."
"I hope there's no animatronics defending this place, and how in the world do these things sustain themself after all thoose years?" Might as well find it out in the future, so let's continue.
"But I like that one animatronic, totally i-"
A metal had been thrown in front of him, strutting down to met him in person. 'Hey, I am back. The path ahead are clear, and also-'
She clap her palm together, the whole room radiates tons of lights.
Stream of water fell from several heights, breaking the silence this room held in such a long time. "You can speak freely now, but keep in mind about using this as our fist basecamp. It isn't really ours, but ancient technology is just fascinating."
"Yeah, it is." There lies dozen of dismembered animatronics on her way back, with him picking up the animatronic's head besides him.
By the looks of it, it's just an old room with nothing but pools of fountain that breaks the silence. Patterns of light radiates on the wall, indicating some sorts of usage for god knows what.
"Very interesting indeed."
Gap enabling lights trough opened doors, eminating this barren room. There's no dust, nothing had affect this place at all. It's pristine and cold, not even a spider web present inside.
The man put his belonging on the carpet in the middle of this room, it didn't grow mold. But definitely brittle as he get to the places.
With all of the animatronics lingering, there's no way they could have found the core. But there they are, break the rune combination thus deactivate the animatronics.
He lower his body, wrap himself in thick blanket and curl to his bag. He dozed off.
But someone else still aren't dozing off with a small munching sound behind several doors, tender-fresh and mammalian flesh. It's almost feels like a pork, but the texture is more of a lamb than anything else. Bare hands holding the flesh like it's a big deal, it makes it less of a beast.
Once the flesh is done, tounge slide across the palm and scoop the remaining of blood. Too much to waste in this harsh enviroment, and there's not a single drop of blood in this pack of fur.
The room knows no silence, flowing water still breaking said silence with enough noises.
Granting easier peace along the way, for constant noises overstimulate the brain in a good way. Glance at the right hand, you see a ring wrapped around the ring finger. The same one used to eating the flesh. 'I'll miss you in a while, darling.'
The lady dozed off, marking the end of this safe zone.
