The words echoed like a curse.
For the first time, her golden eyes widened in something more than disdain.
The flawless mask of divinity cracked, her radiance flickering against the weight of my dying flame.
"Y–You wouldn't…" her voice stuttered, breaking against the force that pinned her.
Her sword-arm twitched, trying to lift Solara once more, but I ground her wrist into the earth until the blade clattered uselessly aside.
Her free hand clawed at my chest, golden nails raking lines of fire across my flesh.
Shrrrk!
Blood spilled hot, but I didn't move. I crushed her harder into the ground, silver aura burning like chains.
"You said I was pathetic," I hissed, my lips inches from hers. "You said I couldn't kill you. And you were right… I can't."
Her pupils shrank.
"But I can make you wish you were dead."
Her body jolted, divine light flashing in panic.
"D–Don't you dare—!!"
BAAAM!
