Chapter 110 - Ch. 109 - Establishing the Sorcerer Society! [2]

Just as everyone outside was chattering, I was screening everyone's minds.

Since the strongest among them was simply High-class in strength, piercing through their mind defenses without them noticing was easy.

I was impressed by their experiences while discouraged by their ways of magic.

How to say this? Most of their magic system is crude. Relying solely on numbers and equations makes it harder than normal.

If I were to compare their mathematical magic system to Devil Magic or Merlin's magic system, it would be like comparing Heaven and Earth.

However, as I kept scanning through every single mind, discovering their little secrets or hidden trump cards. I recognized a familiar name among them.

Michel de Nostredame or famously known as Nostradamus

Isn't this the guy who was said to be able to predict the future?

The more I skimmed through this boy's memories, the more impressed I was.

Nostradamus is far from normal. His magic teacher is normal obviously but he died in the Devil invasion, protecting the humans.

This boy specializes in divination magic. Although his teacher isn't adept in Divination Magic, Nostradamus, through his theories and talent, managed to advance in it, far more than those who studied it for years.

It's simply a miracle for Nostradamus to be able to pull it off.

Then I also discovered the boy's innate ability to see the future.

However, according to his memories, it is sometimes not accurate or at least vague.

For example, he foresaw his teacher's death but he didn't see how, when, or who killed him. Just his dead body on the ground.

Nonetheless, it is still impressive for him to possess future sight. I've known some who can also see the future like him back in the Marvel Universe but those people either use a tool or learned it for years.

Nostradamus is different, his future vision is random and sometimes occurs during emotional outbursts.

Interesting. I want to meet this boy.

As Balthazar came out and gathered everyone's attention, I went to work and pulled the boy's mind to myself, bringing him to my mind space to have a personal talk.

***

"Who…are you?" Nostradamus slowly backed away in wariness while eyeing the mysterious boy in front of him.

"I'm known by many names but you may refer to me as the Sorcerer Supreme." Hearing him introduce himself, Nostradamus's eyes widened in surprise.

'This is the Sorcerer Supreme?! H-He looks too young and almost my age!'

'Could it be, he's ageless? He's achieved a way to halt his body from aging, hence he's stuck at being young?' Nostradamus muttered to himself, forming a very plausible theory in his mind.

The more he thought about this, the more mysterious the Sorcerer Supreme became in his mind.

'He must be strong. I heard he was one of the reasons that the invasion of the devils stopped. They feared him, they say.' Nostradamus recalled the rumors circulating through the magical communities.

'Maybe he would be able to teach me how to control 'that'." He was referring to his ability to see the future.

But still, what confuses him is the reason why the Sorcerer Supreme came to meet him personally.

'Could this be some sort of test? Is everyone going through the same position as I am right now?' Nostradamus theorized. Though he's not entirely sure about it.

"You must be confused. Put them aside and let's talk." Exactly as he finished his words, a small table with two small cups filled with steaming tea appeared between them.

"Magic?" Nostradamus unconsciously blurted out.

"Not exactly." The Sorcerer Supreme refuted while sitting on the nonexistent ground.

With a simple blink of his eyes, Nostradamus found himself sitting also face to face with the Sorcerer Supreme who proceeded to explain.

"It's simply an imagination made from my mind. And since we're inside my mind space. Everything I imagine will come to life. Though that doesn't mean everything here is true."

True to his words, when Nostradamus picked up the cup of tea and sipped, he didn't taste or feel any heat in his mouth.

As if he just sipped nothing but air.

"However, that doesn't mean I can't do magic inside here." As soon as he finished his words, Nostradamus's taste buds exploded in rich flavor and slight bitterness.

He also felt the heat but nothing he hadn't felt already.

"This is amazing." Nostradamus complimented wholeheartedly. This is the first time he experienced something like this. Not even his former teacher taught him about things like mind space and such.

"Tell me, Nostradamus. How much do you know? About magic and the supernatural world." After sipping once again, the empty cup in Chamber's hand refilled itself with the same steaming tea.

"How much I know…" Nostradamus contemplated the question, trying to find a suited answer for it.

In his mind, he was recalling the teachings of his teacher about magic.

"Magic is like an extra limb for us who can sense it and control it. Only a rare few have the capabilities to use it through our Mathematical Magic System, which is the basic and average magic system that we use." His master once told him.

"Magic…is like an extra limb," Nostradamus answered with a hesitant tone, hoping that his deceased teacher would be able to help him here.

"Extra limb...what a fascinating way to see it. Did your teacher teach it to you?" Nostradamus immediately recoiled in surprise, not expecting to be exposed so early.

"I-I'm sorry, did I fail?" Nostradamus asked with a defeated sigh. The Sorcerer Supreme was asking for his opinion about magic, not his teacher. To him, that's immediately a disappointment.

"Don't be discouraged. It's normal for other people especially our teachers and family to influence us and shape our perspective. What were you thinking?" Nostradamus couldn't help but bow his head out of embarrassment. Why does the Sorcerer Supreme seem like he was reading his mind?

'Wait a second. Is he reading my mind?' Nostradamus's eyes widened in realization.

At the same time, Chamber smirked after seeing this.

"You finally caught on. Thought it would take you a while." Chamber then proceeded to stand up and say.

"Congratulations. You passed my test. Though it's not like a test considering I'll still take you in whether you pass or not." Chamber chuckled at his words.

"Wait…you mean. I'm now a member of the Sorcerer Society?!" Nostradamus stood up from the non-existent ground in surprise.

"Not just a member. You're also one of my students from now on." Chamber smirked and snapped his fingers, their surroundings shaking and Nostradamus's eyes darkened.

When his vision came back, he found himself in the tower's front field again.

"-ll of you shall rest here from now on." When his bearings came back, he heard Balthazar finish his words before going back inside.

The surroundings have also changed. It is no longer a vast expanse of green scenery, instead, it was replaced by tens of new structures made of wood, estimated to house at most 10 residents.

"Amazing," Nostradamus muttered to himself.

The magicians and wizards around him were already doing their things.

Some left while some stayed and found themselves their respective temporary homes.

As for Nostradamus, he didn't do any of those things. Instead, he walked towards the tower's entrance, swerving through the crowd of magicians, which made him stand out among them.

"Hey. Where is that kid going?" He heard and soon many more.

"Who's student is that?"

"Leave him. Let's just go and mind our own businesses. This kid clearly didn't listen to Master Balthazar's words."

"Didn't anyone tell him that the door is locked and Master Balthazar said that it only opens to those who are the members of the Sorcerer Society?"

"What an uneducated child."

"I should go and take him back."

While some magicians were concerned, most were either laughing and arrogant or just didn't care.

However, Nostradamus ignored those. Focusing on the door instead.

When he finally got to the front of the door with everyone's eyes on him, Nostradamus breathed deeply and prayed in his mind.

'Please open. Please open don't embarrass me.' Thankfully, it didn't take long before a creak was heard.

The door, which could not be opened by anyone except for Balthazar when he came out, slowly opened once again.

"This!?"

"How can it be?"

Inside his mind, Nostradamus cried out of joy.

Stepping inside, he slowly turned around and gave everyone's shocked faces a wave of his hand.

"Bye!" He said gleefully before the door closed once again.

The last thing he saw was the regret and jealous looks that everyone gave him.

"Who is he, teacher?" Augustus asked after seeing Nostradamus through the windows.

"He will be your new classmate. Treat him well." Chamber replied with his hands behind his back.

"Finally! I'm no longer the 'fresh' student among us!" Out of all of them, Faust seemed to be the happiest among them.

"What do you mean by fresh?" Chamber raised an eyebrow and asked out of confusion.

"Fresh. It means the newest student or the last one who got taken in as your student." Faust glared at Augustus and Belle who whistled innocently while Tam looked a bit confused.

"You mean freshman?" Chamber couldn't help but blurt out a familiar word back from his world.

Freshman means the youngest or newest student in a college. Kind of like the first years.

"Freshman? I like the sound of that." Augustus grinned and said while leaning towards Faust.

"Hi there, freshman!"

"Nuh-uh! I'm no longer a freshman! Master took a new student!" Faust growled and tried to defend himself.

"You're wrong, freshman. Not until we officially meet him, freshman. So during that time, I'll make sure to keep calling you freshman, freshman!" Augustus stuck his tongue out and teased.

"You!! I'll kill you!" Clenching his fists in anger, Faust threatened while a red aura flared around him, indicating his sacred gear.

"Uh-oh." Augustus backed away and gulped his saliva in nervousness.

"U-uhh. Faust? You know I'm just joking, right?" Wanting to save himself, Augustus tries to reason with him, only to fail.

"You're dead, August!" Faust growled angrily before launching himself to him.

"Right?"

[At this point, I'm going way way far from the plot of High-school dxd. Though i'll make sure to keep a few things the same such as the Four Satans still being Sirzechs and such and also Rias and Sona still being born and whatever. However, that's it. I'm going in a Harry Potter kind of route here but much better and stronger (prolly) and less racist than the original.]

[I want to know what you guys think about it.]
