He moved forward with smooth, soundless steps. The air inside the tunnel was hot and stagnant, heavy with the scent of earth and decay. His breathing slowed as his senses sharpened. Soon the clicking sounds of the ants coming from ahead. A chill passed through the tunnel as the sound turned into a cacophony of sharp, synchronized clicks that bounced against the stone walls. The floor began to tremble under the rhythmic vibration of many legs moving in unison.
