"Let's get ourselves registered on the Challenge Platform," Max said as he set off toward the enormous floating board.
Ervin, Rosaline, and Rakan walked along beside him.
The nearer they got, the more details stood out on the translucent platform. Hundreds of names were sorted into several sections, and each entry listed the participant's race, cultivation realm, number of shadows completed, current wager, and availability status.
Every few seconds, some names vanished as their owners were pulled into battle, and new ones appeared almost at once to take their place.
A large crowd had gathered beneath the platform. Some were carefully looking through potential opponents before issuing a challenge, while others had already registered and were simply waiting for someone to pick their names.
Max's arrival drew attention almost immediately. Several conversations around the platform died down, and more than a few people turned toward him.
"That's Max Voidwalker."
