Chapter 96 - 41. The Final Collapse

It happened fast.

Jack flew again, smoke coming from his broken wings. He spun like a falling storm, claws glowing with storm energy.

Ronnie struck from the opposite side, twin arcs of blue lightning firing from his hands like divine spears.

Henry vanished into Shooting Star Mode, zigzagging in pure light before unleashing a Heavenly Punch that struck Zorath mid-torso.

They were coordinated, and they were desperate.

And this time… they made Zorath step back.

The gravitational god reeled—caught between lightning, storm, and heaven.

He raised his hands and warped the battlefield again, ripping the ground into floating pillars and turning air into pressure waves.

Zorath (louder now): "You will not stop the inevitable."

Henry (charging): "Then we'll die trying!"

All three launched at him in synchronized fury:

Jack from above, claws blazing.

Ronnie with a massive lightning javelin.

Henry channeled everything into his fist wrapped in blue energy.

They struck—

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMMMMMMMM—!!!

Zorath screamed—not in pain… but in resistance.

For the first time, the fusion wavered.

Henry instantly struck again.

This time with five afterimages all striking Zorath one after another.

He raises his hand. But he is quickly hindered by Jack, who holds his hand and slams him against the remains of a fallen building.

Ronnie then jumped into the air, lightning channeling out of his body, shooting a lightning beam into Zorath.

Before Zorath could get back on his feet, Jack raised him up and threw him at Henry, who met him with a heavenly infused punch.

Zoratg gets back on his feet only to meet a lightning-fast beatdown from Ronnie, which then leads to a thunderous beatdown from Jack and Henry together.

Ronnie (shouting): "Don't let him make another attack."

Henry and Jack both nodded. Both greeting Zorath with a tag-team beatdown.

Giving him no time to breathe.

Zorath's anger only staggered.

Zorath (divine echoing): "ENOUGH!!"

The ground shook. The gravity around Zorath pressed everything into the ground.

It seemed like the sky was falling. Dust, stars, and even light seemed to be falling down and obeying his will.

Jack's wings disintegrate, being kicked out of his beast mode and being pressed into the ground.

Ronnie's lightning flickers out as he's pinned to the broken earth, bones fracturing under the crushing force.

Henry, glowing with his final heavenly light, tries to charge—

But Zorath's hand closes.

CRAAAACK—!!!

Henry is crushed and slammed into the ground beside the others, unconscious.

Everything stills.

Zorath Veil, wounded for the first time, glares down at them—eyes like neutron stars, orbiting shards spinning faster, his voice no longer calm but vengeful.

Zorath (growling): "I gave you mercy. You chose extinction."

He raises both arms.

The sky folds.

Clouds twist into rings. Gravity warps light. The ground rips open beneath their feet. All the weight of the planet's core begins to press inward on a single point:

Zorath: "Behold: The wrath of my people that shall finally come upon this world. My Final Collapse."

He slammed both his fists into the ground. Taking control over the world's gravity.

Oceans started to rise. Cities started to fall. The ground started to shake and break.

Zorath laughed like a madman. His power has driven him crazy.

The gravitational god lands slowly, laughter echoing like thunder.

Zorath (laughing, triumphant): "I will reshape this planet's core. The atmosphere will bend. Oceans will rise to the sky. I will create a world… where gravity kneels."

He lifts his hand to the sky—the final phase beginning.

But—a strange clicking noise.

Then a voice: "Very interesting. The boss was right."

And a blade pierces Zorath's back—right through the divine shell of his fused form.

A gray spear, glowing faintly with flickering seals—a Deactivation Spike.

Zorath freezes.

Zorath (gasping): "Wh…at…"

The ground stopped trembling. The sky slowly became normal. The gravity shifted back to normal.

The attacker steps out from behind.

His form is lean and sharp. Almost identical in build and movement to Zorath. His face was serious. His eyes are pale. And his voice?

Chillingly familiar.

???: "You were never meant to exist as a god."

Zorath (out of breath): "…Ravenous… Why?"—

Ravenous Halo: "Your reflection. Born from Midas' will. Molded in your image. A perfect clone."

Zorath drops to one knee.

His divine glow dims.

The pressure surrounding the Event Horizon begins to collapse. The fusion breaks apart.

The singularity dies.

Zorath (in horror): "Midas… built you as a failsafe… in case I disobeyed…"

Ravenous Halo (smirking): "And as always, he was right? You did disobey."

Zorath Veil was in horror. Never has he thought that he himself would be the one to cross his plan.

Furious with anger, he stormed at Ravenous. His divine form slowly dissolving into light.

With predictable moves he attacks Ravenous, but his state was too weakened.

Ravenous dodges each move with ease. Zorath pulls Tremor towards Ravenous, which he easily breaks with his staff.

Zorath (Angered): "WHY! WE COULD HAVE CHANGED THIS WORLD TOGETHER. SIDE BY SIDE. HASN'T OUR PEOPLE SUFFERED ENOUGH? HASN'T I SUFFERED ENOUGH?"

Ravenous (calm): "I was made solely for the purpose of serving Master Midas. Me looking like you is just a result of cloning. I have nothing to do with either your past or plans. I couldn't care less about you."

Hearing that made Zorath even more furious.

He pulls towards him a metal rod, hitting Ravenous with it. But Ravenous easily holds the rod.

He pulls out another device—a jagged machine with prongs of black steel.

He slams it onto Zorath's chest.

It drills in.

Zorath screams—his Gravity Awakening ripped from his very soul in a pillar of dark purple light.

Ravenous (coldly): "Your Awakening belongs to me now."

Zorath screams in pain. His body slowly losing all its color. His muscle quickly dissolves, and what remains of Zorath is only skin and bones.

Zorath now lies in Ravenous's arms. In Ravenous hands is now the machine that robbed Zorath of the origin of his power and life force: The Gravity Awakening.

Zorath (very weak): "…Why…"

Ravenous: "I am sorry, but it is the master's will to not let your Awakening fall in the wrong hands, but in mine."

Zorath collapses completely. His dog ears folded behind, his dog tail lay on the ground motionless, and Zorath's eyes lost all their life.

His form collapsed completely.

The gravity entity is dead. So as Zorath Veil, and with him, the Black Halo.

Ravenous Halo stood over the battlefield, calm.

The weapon vanishes into dust—its single use fulfilled.

He lifts the machine, which contained the Gravity Awakening, and presses it to his chest.

His body convulses—then stabilizes. His eyes, mouth, and ears lighten with purple light.

The power of Zorath Veil now flows through him.

He looks down at the broken heroes.

Ravenous Halo (flatly): "You should be grateful. I did what you couldn't. I killed a god for you."

He turns away.

A golden portal opens behind him—shimmering with Midas' personal signature.

Ravenous (softly): "Phase Omega was never about godhood. It was about control."

And he steps through—vanishing into the shadows, back to Midas.
