Chapter 340: Tang San and Bo Saixi

Just as Tang San was strategizing his escape from Sea God Island, Bo Saixi unexpectedly sought him out. Upon meeting him, her expression was solemn. "Tang San," she began, "I don't care what plans you have, or whether you truly intend to stay on Sea God Island. But I urge you—do not attempt to leave. If you do, you'll find that there's nowhere safe for you to go."

Tang San bowed respectfully. "Elder, why do you make things difficult for me? I carry the burden of avenging my family, and sooner or later, I must confront the Wuhun Empire and Yang Potian to settle this enmity."

Bo Saixi sighed deeply. "Tang San, do you even understand what's happening in the outside world? Recently, a large number of sea soul masters have joined Sea God Island, and we've obtained reliable information from the Douluo Continent. The Wuhun Empire has now unified the entire continent, including Hanhai City. The only places left beyond their reach are Sea God Island and Tianxing Academy."

"Sea God Island has the Sea God's legacy, and with me here, even the Wuhun Empire is at a stalemate with us. If you remain here, I can guarantee your safety and even allow you to one day inherit my position as the next Grand Worshiper of Sea God Island."

Tang San's face grew resolute and fierce. "Thank you for your protection, Elder, but my duty as a son compels me to seek vengeance. Until I fulfill that, I can never be at peace. The Wuhun Empire has slaughtered the two great empires and the Upper Three Sects—they won't escape the reckoning they deserve. Eventually, others will join me in resisting them."

A hint of worry flickered across Bo Saixi's face. "Tang San, revenge isn't as simple as you imagine. You have tremendous talent, yes, and impressive strength for your age, but you're still only a Soul Douluo. How will you contend with the Wuhun Empire's many Titled Douluo?"

Tang San's expression was confident. "Elder, I believe I have the strength and talent to reach the Titled Douluo level quickly. Once I add spirit rings to my second martial spirit, the Clear Sky Hammer, I'll ascend to the rank of an Ultimate Douluo faster than anyone. When that day comes, I'll call upon all who oppose the Wuhun Empire to rally to my cause, and together we'll overthrow them."

Bo Saixi shook her head slowly, watching him intently. "Tang San, reaching the Ultimate Douluo level is no simple feat. Even if you have a second martial spirit and rapid advancement, there's still the challenge of accumulating nine spirit rings. And the higher you climb, the more difficult each breakthrough becomes."

Tang San seemed struck by a thought. "Elder, since you're an Ultimate Douluo yourself, do you know how Bibi Dong managed to overcome the explosive backlash of her twin martial spirits?"

Bo Saixi's stern expression softened. "It's true that twin martial spirits can clash, leading to a fatal backlash if the body can't withstand it. However, your physical endurance has greatly improved thanks to the Sea God's Light and the Tidal Body Refinement. These divine trials have fortified you."

"Once you acquire a ninth spirit ring and fill your body with high-level spirit bones, you won't have to worry about conflicts between the two martial spirits anymore."

Tang San's face lit up with joy as he bowed deeply. "Thank you, Elder, for this invaluable guidance. I've been struggling with this for a long time."

Bo Saixi sighed again. "Tang San, I know you're set on vengeance and have grand ambitions. But the Wuhun Empire isn't as simple as it seems. They bear the legacy of the Angel God, a force equal to the Sea God's own."

"And one more thing—under no circumstances should you oppose Tianxing Academy. Doing so will only leave you surrounded by enemies."

Tang San scoffed coldly. "Elder, please don't plead on Yang Potian's behalf, or try to reconcile us. Yang Potian grievously injured my father. My grudge against him is insurmountable."

Bo Saixi's face hardened. "Tang San, why do you insist on thinking this way? From what I know of the conflict with Tianxing Academy, Yang Potian wasn't the one to provoke it—it was your Clear Sky Clan. Haven't you learned any lessons from this, or recognized any fault of your own?"

Tang San retorted, "What fault could I have in this? The Strength and Defense Clans were once our Clear Sky Clan's subordinates. They rose to prominence only with our support. How could they think they could simply break away on a whim?"

Bo Saixi had watched Tang San grow for three years, witnessing his impressive resilience and potential. But now it was clear she'd never fully understood the depth of his hatred and his inner character.

Hearing his words, she couldn't help but feel they were completely unreasonable. According to Tang San, anyone who had once served the Clear Sky Clan was bound to serve them eternally, even to their last breath. Not even a god would demand such loyalty.

Realizing she could no longer reach him, Bo Saixi sighed deeply. "Tang San, I say this only for your benefit. Yang Potian's power is beyond even my own. Should you meet him on the mainland, you'd be in grave danger."

Tang San offered no reply to Bo Saixi's warning. His silence was a quiet but clear rebuttal.

After a long pause, he asked, "Elder, since the Wuhun Empire now controls the continent, do you have any news of my teacher and the Clear Sky Clan? What happened during the battle?"

Bo Saixi shook her head sadly. "The exact details of the battle are unknown, only that the Clear Sky Clan was destroyed. It's rumored that Tang Hao and Tang Xiao managed to escape the battlefield, but after that, no trace of them remained. Many believe that Bibi Dong's forces eventually hunted them down."

"As for your teacher, Yu Xiaogang, he managed to escape with a few members of the Strength and Speed Clans. Altogether, there were fewer than a hundred of them, and they fled to Hanhai City."

"After Hanhai City fell, Yu Xiaogang and the others boarded a ship, but since then, there's been no news."

Tang San's eyes lit up with an idea. "Elder, could my teacher and the others take refuge on Sea God Island?"

Bo Saixi shook her head again. "I'm afraid I can't help with that, Tang San. Sea God Island's rules, set by the Sea God himself, require any foreign soul master to pass a trial to join us. Yu Xiaogang is only at rank twenty-nine, a Great Soul Master. Neither his age nor his strength would allow him to pass."

Tang San fell silent, understanding the difficulty all too well. He knew that attempting the trials as a Great Soul Master was essentially a death sentence for Yu Xiaogang.
