Chapter 349: Yu Xiaogang Gets Thrown Out
After some discussion, Titan and Bai He agreed to accompany Yu Xiaogang to Tianxing Academy. Along the way, Titan pulled Yu Xiaogang aside. "Master, do you think there's any hope of bringing the Young Master back to his former self?"
Yu Xiaogang shook his head. "From what I understand of the soul master world, I fear there's little chance. Tang San's spirit power has reached the peak of level 98, and even if Tang Yuehua were still alive, she wouldn't be able to help him recover with his current condition."
Titan's face filled with worry. "So, are we just supposed to stand by and watch him spiral? Is there really no hope?"
After some thought, Yu Xiaogang replied, "I once heard from Bibi Dong that Spirit City holds the Douluo Palace, the place where the Angel God's legacy is kept. The Six-Winged Angel Spirit has purifying powers, so perhaps with Qian Daoliu at level 99 and the Angel Temple's help, there might be a slim chance."
Titan and Bai He fell silent. The Angel Temple and Qian Daoliu would never help Tang San. Resolute, the three continued their journey to Tianxing Academy, unaware that there was another person on the Douluo Continent similar to Tang San—Bibi Dong herself.
As the inheritor of the Rakshasa God, Bibi Dong's spirit power was also corrupted by darkness. Yet, unlike Tang San, Bibi Dong's life in the Spirit Empire as its supreme leader, surrounded by the angelic power of Spirit City, her daughter Qian Renxue, and her tactical brilliance, enabled her to control the darkness within, which contributed to her qualification as the Rakshasa God's successor.
One day, Yang Potian was once again summoned to an irksome meeting by his grandfather, Yang Wulin. Entering the conference room, Yang Potian found all of Tianxing Academy's senior figures present, including recent arrivals like Flender and Tai Nuo. Ning Fengzhi and the Sword and Bone Douluos were also there, making the occasion seem especially significant.
Seeing Yu Xiaogang, Titan, and Bai He among them, Yang Potian immediately guessed the purpose of the meeting. Yang Wudi and Niu Gao both looked displeased, while Titan and Bai He had similarly sullen expressions. Clearly, the earlier discussions had not gone well. Yang Potian, however, couldn't fathom why he had been called here for this matter.
Seeing Yang Potian's nonchalant expression, Yang Wudi scowled. "Old Gorilla, Old White Bird, there's nothing more to say. If you want anything, tell Potian directly. He's the one who actually makes decisions for Tianxing Academy."
Yu Xiaogang's face turned somber as he spoke up. "Mr. Yang Potian, I understand that your academy's stance is not to interfere with the conflicts of the soul master world. However, I know Bibi Dong well, and I'm very familiar with her ambitions. Once she unites the Douluo Continent, she will surely turn her attention to you."
Yang Potian chuckled coldly and replied evenly, "There's no need for concern. Tianxing Academy is neutral, and we have the strength to support our position."
Yu Xiaogang, Titan, and Bai He hadn't expected Yang Potian to be so dismissive, as though they weren't even worth his attention. Humiliated, Yu Xiaogang turned pale but dared not show his frustration.
Bai He spoke up in a rush, "Yang Potian, we Four Single Attribute Clans have had years of friendship. Does it really need to come to this?"
Yang Potian scoffed, "Are you joking, Bai He? You and the others followed Tang Hao in attacking my clan time and again, yet now you want to talk about friendship among the Four Single Attribute Clans? You think I'm that easy to fool?"
He looked at them as if they were already dead. Bai He, a prideful soul master, flushed with anger as this younger man—whom he had watched grow up—spoke so harshly.
Ignoring their reactions, Yang Potian continued, "I know why you're here. You want to probe Tianxing Academy's stance and stir up animosity between us and the Spirit Empire. Who gave you the audacity to try to manipulate me?"
As he spoke, a menacing aura filled the room, immobilizing Titan, Bai He, and Yu Xiaogang, as though they were lambs awaiting slaughter.
Titan shouted, "Old Goat, Old Rhino, are you just going to watch your grandson humiliate us like this? Have you no respect for our past brotherhood?"
Yang Wudi's face softened slightly, seeing Titan's misery, while Niu Gao's face darkened. "Old Gorilla, don't you dare invoke 'brotherhood' after everything you've done. You're shameless beyond measure."
With another scoff, Yang Potian unleashed an invisible force that struck Titan, Bai He, and Yu Xiaogang, sending them flying out of the academy and into the Almo Mountains, where they rolled across the ground, coughing blood. Though they were seriously injured, Yang Potian's precise control of his power ensured that each of them suffered equally despite their differences in spirit power.
Witnessing this, the others in the room were stunned by Yang Potian's strength, easily suppressing soul masters of the Contra level. Flender and Tai Nuo glanced uncomfortably at Yu Xiaogang's retreating form.
After this, Yang Potian looked around the room and said coldly, "I don't care about your past connections with them. Now that you're part of Tianxing Academy, you need to understand your stance and not let outsiders manipulate you."
He then left, pausing only to exchange a single glance with Ning Fengzhi, who seemed to comprehend much from that brief look, his expression full of astonishment.
After Yang Potian departed, Yang Zhentian hurried to catch up with him, his tone scolding. "Potian, you should have given your grandfather and godfather a bit of face back there. You may have hurt their reputations."
Yang Potian replied calmly, "Father, I showed restraint only because of grandfather and godfather. Otherwise, Titan and Bai He would already be dead. Those three fools actually had the gall to come here and test my patience."
Yang Zhentian looked confused. "Potian, they're not idiots. What could possibly have made them think this was a good idea? Are they suicidal?"
Yang Potian shook his head. "They may not be complete idiots, but they're close. They must have some kind of support—either Tang San has returned, or the Dark Dragon Di Tian has reappeared."
With that, Yang Potian turned and left, returning to his training. He no longer saw the three as a real threat; if he didn't kill them, someone else would. Titan and Bai He were as good as dead. Had it not been for his respect for Bibi Dong, he would have already disposed of them.
(Note: Titan and Bai He will meet their ends tomorrow, while Yu Xiaogang's fate will be delayed slightly. The major battle is approaching soon.)
