Chapter 357: Severely Wounding Di Tian
Inside Tianxing Academy, Bear Lord fought fiercely, but he was severely disadvantaged by the coordinated attacks of eight Title Douluo. Despite his formidable physique and powerful offensive capabilities, he struggled to hold his ground.
His razor-sharp golden claws, which inflicted nearly impossible-to-heal wounds, found little effect in this battle. The academy's green-clad healer, Ye Lingling, could rapidly heal any injuries he inflicted, making it seem almost miraculous. This healing rendered the academy's fighters fearless, emboldening them to fight recklessly, their attacks relentless and precise. Bear Lord, despite his formidable defenses, began to suffer deep gashes as the battle wore on.
Knowing that continuing the fight could lead to severe injury, Bear Lord was left with no choice but to reveal his true form as a massive Darkgold Terrorclaw Bear. Each of his attacks cracked the ground beneath him, spreading a terrifying aura across Almo Mountain and causing weaker soul masters to tremble in fear. But the academy's elite warriors, having fought through countless life-or-death battles, quickly steadied themselves and resumed their assault.
Seeing the opportunity presented by Bear Lord's exposed form, Ning Fengzhi and the surrounding Contras coordinated their attacks on his vital areas—head, limbs, and joints. Even with his powerful defenses, Bear Lord couldn't fully withstand these focused strikes. From the outer ring, the former Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Clan disciples added to the support with their towers, enhancing their allies' speed, defense, and attack power.
Meanwhile, outside the academy, Di Tian laughed maniacally, disregarding his injuries as he transformed into his true form—a colossal black dragon. Stretching over a thousand meters, his body was covered in thick scales that emanated a sinister black energy, while his gleaming golden eyes radiated a soul-piercing intensity.
Yang Potian looked upon Di Tian with admiration, noting the dragon's pure power and his mastery of the black attribute, which left almost no vulnerabilities. "Impressive," Yang Potian thought, "the ultimate incarnation of darkness and dragon-kind—Di Tian, the Beast God."
Di Tian's transformation altered the sky itself, clouds swirling with dark energy. He lunged at Yang Potian, his massive claws seemingly capable of tearing the heavens apart. This was the fabled Dragon God Claw, a legendary dragon skill handed down from the Dragon God himself, a move nearly divine in strength.
Yang Potian, undaunted, channeled all eight of his hundred-thousand-year spirit rings into his Soul Breaker Spear, which grew several times its normal size, its shaft now over two meters thick and its total length stretching to fifty meters. He then focused the combined energies of his main body's spirit rings into his ninth spirit skill: Shooting the Sun. The spear's blade gleamed with unimaginable power, channeling multiple attributes—metal, wood, fire, earth, space, time, destruction, darkness, and spirit—into an unnaturally balanced force.
Yang Potian's enormous spear met Di Tian's devastating claws head-on, causing the very sky to fracture as if pierced by daylight. A thunderous dragon roar reverberated through the heavens, carrying a note of pain.
In that moment, Di Tian extended a claw toward the academy, aiming to rescue Bear Lord and Tang San. Realizing that his odds of victory were slim, Di Tian knew his only hope was to escape with them before they were defeated.
Yang Potian saw this and, furious, shouted, "Di Tian! How shameless can you be, retreating in the middle of a battle to rescue them? Do you think you can just leave Tianxing Academy as you please?"
Without hesitation, Yang Potian drew his Shura Demon Sword from his back. Instantly, a blood-red aura filled the air, transforming the space around him into a Shura hellscape. Above him appeared a colossal red figure wielding a towering scarlet sword. As the figure brought its blade down, the sword energy materialized into a boundless force of Shura power, slicing toward the retreating Di Tian.
This attack forced another agonized roar from Di Tian, but this one was harsh and filled with pain. Shimmering dragon scales fell around him, and golden blood spattered the sky.
Yang Potian watched as Di Tian fled, suppressing a snort. He readied himself to give chase, knowing that the Beast God had no safe haven. If necessary, he would take his Shura Demon Sword into the heart of Star Dou Forest itself and eradicate the soul beast species.
Just then, a cold, emotionless voice echoed in his mind: "This time only. Do not repeat it."
Yang Potian glanced up, then lowered his head in acknowledgment, letting Di Tian escape. In a flash, he returned to Tianxing Academy.
Surveying the academy grounds, which bore signs of fierce battle, Yang Potian sighed. "Still lacking in power. Tang San alone shouldn't have pushed us this far. We need to find ways to strengthen our students."
Though the academy had sustained no casualties, the battle underscored their lack of depth in top-level power. The academy's Title Douluo had fought intensely against two of the strongest opponents of their time, and the strain was palpable. Despite the injuries, the team only needed to recover their soul power, as Ye Lingling's healing had been extraordinarily effective.
While Di Tian had broken through to rescue his allies, he refrained from inflicting any serious injuries on Tianxing Academy's soul masters. This was a calculated decision—provoking a blood feud would guarantee no escape, even for a beast as powerful as he.
