Chapter 2 - Lost power

Following the discovery of his renewed hope, Raiku was brought to his new home, but something was really wrong.

Both as a king and a dragon, he had grown in a life of extravagance and splendour so much that he had even grown tired of it. Never would he had ever imagined that his esteemed self would stoop to settle in a... cottage. Even his servants had more. This was simply inconceivable.

But alas, there was nothing that could be done. He found solace in knowing that his was just a temporary situation, for when he had found a way to break away from the firm grasp of the feebleness which embroidered him, he might as well break out of this shack and rebuild his lost glory.

'Just a little longer'. He thought

"Welcome to your new home Arthur". The red-haired jock spoke.

Oh how he loathed the sound of his voice.

As soon as the trio entered the petty residence they were greeted by the hullabaloo conjured by a small gathering of poorly dressed humans presumably the residents of the surrounding neighbourhood which subsequently garnered the look of bewilderment on the young infant's face.

'Surprise!'

The small crowd present in front of the trio bellowed in unison creating a sound similar to the simultaneous bleating of a small flock of sheep.

'It would seem I'm surrounded by dumb people'. He thought as he noticed the shocked look of his 'parents'. It would seem even they weren't aware of the conundrum taking place before them.

To his dismay they all gathered around Raiku not leaving so much as an inch between them, drastically reducing the ventilation of the entire space all in the hopes of beholding his lithe image. It would appear that in this life, he was still a huge deal.

'Looks like this is going to be a tough one.' he sighed as he wondered what future awaited him if he was to be bred admist such unethical creatures.

Luckily, the phenomenum ended no sooner as it had started and Raiku was placed in a separate room.

'Finally' He thought as he released his clenched fist and gazed at the bead-like orb he had tightly held on to since his rebirth. This might not go as bad as expected. Of all people, no one could possibly fathom the huge significance of the small bead on his hand other than him.

Dragon essence!

The very core of the lizards of the sky. For it was the source of his power and that of every dragon that had ever lived. He was not going to squander this chance and make haste to regain his former self.

But a single problem portrayed...

The power bestowed by this bead was not something that could be trifled with lightly without consequences even by one as experienced as himself. For it was not that he did not know how to control. In fact, he was sure he might be the only single existence that knew how to use it to its full potential.

It was just that he feared that the power would be too much for this feeble body to handle. He stared at the bead with a serious gaze unbefitting for an average newborn and lamented on his weakness.

The bead in his hand was so tiny that he could clench it in his tiny fist. But even that little amount of essence was dangerous in the hand of someone as weak as himself to handle. At least for now...

All hope was not lost. All he needed was to grow stronger to accommodate power all by himself before he could even contemplate the essence and all that took time.

But what was time to a dragon...

He looked at the bead one more time and clenched his fist in fierce determination.

It was not so much later that a particular voice caught his attention. He squirmed his face in disgust as the door burst open and a certain red haired man appeared.
