Chapter 30 - Chapter 29. "I hate needles."

Hey, welcome back, Kid, you all as well, folks!

I thought I posted this last week, lbvs.

Have mercy, it's been a very busy month for me thus far!

I hope that this finds you well, yeah?

Nothing so wild to report here, life has been...a rollercoaster, but I am as tough as they come.

And as patient as they come...lmao.

Mayhap stupidly so at times, you know?

One day, someone will publish one of my books, and I will be able to commit to full-time writing.

That's the dream!

Still, here at 36 years old lol.

I see why we are referred to as "starving artists", lol

One day, someone will buy me a coffee, and I'll cry lol.

Till then? I will just keep writing what I'm writing while I can write it.

And maybe, some day you...will actually be born.

See you soon.

Enjoy.

Dear You.

The urge to write comes and goes.

It's weird.

It's not you.

It's me.

For real.

I got a flu shot today!

*Sad face drawn here.

It is sore as hell...

Long needle.

I hate needles.

They took my grandma away.

Tisk...tisk...

No needles.

Ugh.

-I struggled more and more to write, partly due to the fact that...well, one of my exes had a habit of picking my poetry and the likes apart, and questioning what this or that meant, you know?

That...took a toll on me, and I quickly learned to just not write, for my own sanity.

Ironically, writing was the one thing that I NEEDED in order to maintain what sanity I could while in that relationship.

Manipulation comes in many forms, Kid.

Folks.

Be wary.

-I lost my grandma when I was but 16.

She was all of 54 years old, you know?

Quite young.

Crack was her vice.

It was a big thing back in the 70s, I hear.

I was born in 1988, so I wouldn't know firsthand lol.

She lost her life to the rehab that should have saved her...

A strange and ironic tale, yeah?

Avoid drugs if you can, Kid.

Life is tough, yes.

But it is also short.

Don't throw it away.

It is also a blessing just to get to experience life.

Find something that makes you happy, and go with it, as long as it doesn't harm you or anyone else.

I will leave you at that, and I hope you come back and see the next entry.

I always appreciate your time, energy, and love.

Safe travels, folks, and as always:

Stay safe.

Stay healthy.

Stay vigilant.

-Redd.
