After that early morning fun with Alexi and Natasha, Jax had received a message. He had just finished breakfast and was looking out onto the Capital when a shadowy messenger bird materialized on the windowsill.
Jax glanced toward it. The creature dissolved into black particles, leaving behind a small folded message.
Jax picked it up and the seal immediately caught his attention, a stylized dragon, which was the symbol of Orianna, the Head of Military and Dragon Clan Leader.
Jax opened it and read it.
'Come to the Military District. I have something for you.'
Jax stared at the message.
"Something for me?"
There was no explanation, but Jax knew that was just how things go with Orianna. A few minutes later, Jax left the palace.
The Military District occupied an enormous section of Aeternum Noctis. It was one of the few places in the Demon Kingdom where the atmosphere remained almost perpetually tense.
