Chapter 259 - Chapter 259: We Apologize

Even Jiraiya himself knew that the statement was just an escape.

They finally stopped in front of a main building in the center of the village—a large wooden house with a three-tiered roof.

Adorned with the distinctive red whirlpool emblem of the Uzumaki clan above its door.

The building looked old, yet it stood proudly.

The paint on the walls was starting to fade, but the aura emanating from the building was more intimidating than any stone fortress.

The house was not just a residence—it was a symbol of honor that could not be bought, and a symbol that could not be erased.

The Anbu then turned around. The Anbu's body was upright, but the cold aura surrounding him made the atmosphere even more suffocating.

"From here, you enter on your own," the man said in a flat tone.

Without saying more, the Anbu's body immediately vanished in an instant.

Leaving the three would-be legendary ninjas standing in front of a door that seemed to be waiting to judge them.

Tsunade did not wait.

Where Tsunade stepped forward, she slowly opened the old wooden door.

The creaking of the door echoed like a howl from the past, dragging them into a dark corridor filled with the scent of incense and ancient sealing papers.

Their footsteps echoed on the wooden floor, accompanying them past walls lined with scrolls—records of techniques and the long history of the Uzumaki clan.

The atmosphere inside the house was frozen in silence, as if their voices alone could awaken the buried wrath of their ancestors.

They stopped in front of a large sliding door engraved with the whirlpool emblem.

Tsunade stared at the door for a moment, her eyes dimming.

Where Tsunade knew that behind that door were the leaders of the Uzushio Village, as well as the elders and leaders of the Uzumaki Clan.

With a steady movement, Tsunade immediately opened the door.

The room was spacious and illuminated by natural light, but the atmosphere inside was so suffocating.

In the middle of the silent room, Keito sat cross-legged on a tatami mat, right beneath the soft light of a paper lantern.

He was the head of the Uzumaki Clan—a man who appeared to be in his late twenties or early thirties.

With a sturdy posture and a calm demeanor that reflected the maturity of a leader.

Keito's bright red hair was neatly combed back, revealing a broad forehead and sharp eyes hidden behind Keito's calm face.

Although Keito's clothing appeared simple, consisting of a dark blue yukata without any striking patterns, there was an authority in the way Keito sat—calm, stable, and fully aware of his position.

Keito's gaze was sharp, yet full of dignity.

Surrounding Keito were elders and advisors, each with serious faces and judgmental stares.

None of them smiled.

Tsunade stopped at the threshold.

Jiraiya stood behind Tsunade, and Orochimaru—as usual—kept his distance, standing at the side of the room, looking as if from a stage of a boring play.

It was Orochimaru who closed the door with a soft sound—but the echo of its closing felt like the sealing of a coffin.

Tsunade opened her mouth. "We came here to—"

"What did you come for? To sell empty words?" A loud voice interrupted Tsunade's speech.

An Uzumaki elder spoke—a frail old man with a horrific scar on the right side of his lip, making his voice sound heavy and cold.

The old man's eyes blazed with anger, and his body leaned slightly forward from his seated position.

Tsunade fell silent for a moment, then took a slow breath.

"…We apologize… for not being able to help when you were attacked," Tsunade finally said.

Her voice was low but firm. "We know this will not erase your anger. But at that time… we were also in a precarious position. Kumogakure—"

"Enough!" Another shout echoed.

An old woman struck the floor with her iron staff. "And we had to face three villages! Without allies! Without help! Meanwhile, you just stood by!"
