Chapter 283 - Chapter 283 - I Need to Get Rid of You.

[Chapter Size: 2000 Words.]

Third Person POV

Skellige.

...

...

"Where is Madara?" Ciri asked, while stroking the foal — its horn still gleaming — and with her other hand she gently touched her belly, looking fondly at the animal, which still had the horn shining; even so, she couldn't help but furrow her brow thinking of Madara, the real one and not that clone there.

"He went out," Triss said, while Ciri searched the others' faces for answers about where Madara had gone. Neither Geralt, Yennefer nor Mousesack seemed to know.

Ciri wondered what he had gone to do; he wasn't one to leave like that. So her eyes returned to the Madara clone standing there. Ciri always avoided interacting much with clones: no matter how much they were extensions of her husband, they still were not him. She reserved physical or deeper interaction for the real Madara; the clones served as helpers and messengers.

"My original went to gather information from the woman who made the supposed prophecy about this situation," the clone said.

She nodded upon hearing that. Ciri looked back at her belly with fear; the room seemed to freeze when others noticed.

Mousesack's hand touched her shoulder. Geralt was looking at her with a look far sadder than a witcher usually could muster. "Yennefer told me some things about the child," he remarked. Ciri bit her lip and looked at her father with a sad glint.

"Look, father, no matter what happens, I don't want my son to die. Understand? And Madara will find a solution. He always does," she said.

"He will, my dear," Yennefer said, approaching and tenderly touching Ciri's head. Even the foal neighed at that moment as if to say everything would be fine; everyone laughed, easing the mood a little, but Ciri was not finished.

"But if he doesn't find one... If there truly is no other way, I want the child to come first," Ciri said with as much courage as she could muster.

She had never imagined reaching such a point; she had never seen herself in a situation like this... She had always considered herself quite selfish. However, upon learning she carried Madara's child, she felt something indescribable: she knew that within her, a love for the child — barely beginning to form — was born, and at the image of a future where she would hold a little boy while she breastfed him, she seemed happy and full of emotion at the thought of that future; she felt fulfilled.

But now, she resolutely decided that her life came after the baby, who had become the material form of the love they both had for one another. That child mattered more than anything else at that moment, and she would gladly give her life so he could live.

"Even if I must die, I want the child saved at any cost!" When she uttered those words, the atmosphere grew heavy again. Someone squeezed Ciri's shoulder. "No matter what happens, I will make this boy survive," she said, determined.

"You said that in your vision of the future, you didn't see the boy being held by you?" questioned Madara's clone, carrying fragments of the original's memories.

Ciri almost stammered; the words stuck in her throat because she was so bewildered that she hadn't even thought of that at the moment.

"You're right," she shouted with a tone full of joy and hope. "I saw the future!" she announced to everyone. "I saw my son in my arms. He was there... he looked like such a healthy little boy. He had his father's hair, along with his eyes," she said, finally seeming to realize it.

"That means... then Madara will find a solution!" Triss said, more excited now, while Mousesack also showed a relieved smile.

"Yes, he will. Of course he will," Yennefer replied. "But why is he taking so long? He should've only gone to speak with that woman... or even read her mind?" Ciri said, worried.

It had been a while since they had been there, and Madara still hadn't shown up... He could have just talked to her, gathered the information, and come back so they could discuss it. Something had clearly happened, since he could have solved that with just a glance.

It was then that the laboratory doors opened at the end of the corridor. Everyone looked, seeing King Bran himself approaching.

"Something happened," he said, with a worried expression. "I was informed that Ciri wasn't well... and that the foal had escaped from her room and was causing chaos in the castle..." He said, but stopped upon seeing Ciri appearing conscious.

"Are you alright?" he asked, also noticing the foal there, its horn glowing above Ciri.

"I'm better, thanks to Eira," Ciri said with a weak smile.

"That's good... I just received word that the witch from the city had a seizure and died," said the king in a weary tone to Mousesack, who seemed to know the woman.

"What? She died?" Ciri gasped before anyone else. "But... Madara went to see her!"

That stirred suspicion in everyone. However, an explosion from outside interrupted them. The sound of debris bursting made them all look toward the windows. Mousesack and Geralt ran there, widening their eyes as they saw a specific point in the city — a gigantic creature of blue energy emerging from the harbor.

A few minutes earlier, Madara was still in that strange space created by the demon. The being had vanished before the blue arm of the Susanoo struck the ground, destroying part of the darkness a second time.

"What's wrong? Silent now?" Madara mocked, since the demon no longer seemed as talkative as before.

"You truly possess abilities... far beyond even my comprehension," admitted the voice, sounding a little angry and frustrated — and surprised as well.

"Well then, let's finish this," Madara said, advancing.

The demon was somewhere out of his sight, avoiding looking into the Uchiha's eyes. The Susanoo's hand hadn't fully withdrawn; it was still half-open around the destroyed area. Madara's Sharingan gleamed, spinning in its pattern, and he activated one of his techniques.

Suddenly, the demon reappeared at the exact spot where it had been before, just before the hand exploded — but this time, it was caught by surprise when the chakra arm simply grabbed it with force before it could react.

"What...?!" Gaunter O'Dimm looked frightened for the first time.

"You really thought you could handle me?" Madara asked, staring at him with a cold smile.

The demon tried to escape the colossal grip of the Susanoo, but the chakra held him firmly in place.

"You know, I don't like stalkers," Madara continued, mocking him. "And you're someone I've wanted to deal with for a long time. Lucky for me, you came to me."

The being still struggled, trying to break free, until its eyes began to change — becoming even redder — and horns started to grow from its forehead. Its form was shifting.

"Don't flatter yourself, human!" it snarled in its vile voice, as it began transforming into a true demon to become stronger. Its body twisted, and the look in its furious eyes glared at Madara with pure hatred. The Uchiha's words seemed to have wounded its demonic pride.

"You need my help. Only I can save that woman and your child!" the demon bellowed.

"Only you?" Madara raised an eyebrow, still mocking. "A bit of an exaggeration to make yourself look useful. Don't get me wrong... I believe you could do something, but you'd probably kill her along with my son later. Not to mention, you'd try to take my soul. Besides, just because you were the first solution to appear doesn't mean you're the only one. So it's better not to try to buy my soul... or my service, as you say."

Madara's eyes now shone with pure malice and danger. "You're a being I have to destroy. You've been haunting us for too long, and I have no doubt you'd try something worse later. So I'd better get rid of you," he declared firmly.

The demon tried to force the arm around its body, slowly moving the Susanoo's hand. "Do you really think you can stop me? I am superior to you humans!" it roared.

But before it could finish, the Susanoo's hand clenched with brutality. A burst of blood erupted in all directions, staining the air. The impact made the structure tremble, and the creature's body exploded like a balloon, scattering pieces everywhere — some even falling onto Madara, though the bones shielded him from the blood.

Madara slowly opened his hand. Half of the demon's body fell to the ground, leaving only its legs.

"Is that it? You died so easily?" Madara asked coldly. He knew it couldn't possibly be over.

He didn't believe it would all end so easily. And he was right. The entire warehouse began to change — the shadows retreated, and lights flickered through the cracks in the door and windows. Madara found himself back in the real world, still with the Susanoo active around his body, its skeletal frame and one arm intact.

He observed the motionless body for a few seconds with his Mangekyō and was not disappointed. A dark aura began to rise from it, once again taking on the form of the demon itself. Red eyes glowed within the smoke.

"Don't think it's over... No one dares to despise me like that, human! Not even you!" the creature roared.

Madara did not respond. His energy only grew stronger. A colossal sword formed in the Susanoo's hand, and the Uchiha hurled it toward the mist. The strike tore through the air, slicing everything around it and hitting the ground with brutal force, cutting through the smoke and splitting the warehouse walls apart.

When the smoke reformed into the demon's image, it appeared laughing. "We'll meet again in the future." That was all it said before vanishing.

Madara narrowed his eyes, activating the power of his eyes to try to reverse time and bring the enemy back. But something stopped him. There was a barrier. He frowned, unable to do anything more.

Suddenly, two portals opened before him. From within them emerged two creatures — Ekimmaras. They roared with fury, bestial, glaring at the Uchiha.

Madara raised an eyebrow, studying them. The demon had escaped... but without a body. And now, in the end, only these two creatures remained — something even he had never faced before.

"So be it..." he said, as his chakra blazed with fury. He knew he couldn't deal with the demon at that moment, but he needed to vent his frustration on something — and those creatures, by merely existing there, already irritated him.

At that moment, in the city, people were living an apparently calm day, despite the turmoil caused by the witch's sudden death. The sound of Madara's sword slicing through the air and striking the wooden walls inside the warehouse, after cutting through the smoke, thundered like a storm. Everyone turned toward the warehouse, startled, trying to understand what was happening.

They didn't need to get much closer, however, as the answer came moments later. The warehouse roof exploded violently, and a massive blue mass burst from within. A colossal creature — with four arms and a face both in front and behind — rose more than fifteen meters high like a titan of blue energy.

It roared powerfully, bringing the entire city to a halt. Shocked, terrified gazes turned toward the monster. Four swords appeared in its hands, and, upon seeing something in front of the warehouse, the creature lowered its arms and unleashed a brutal strike. The resulting explosion destroyed the entire structure, sending echoes and tremors rippling across the city.

There hadn't been so many witnesses to such overwhelming power since the war.

I think that only by summoning the Shinigami can Madara deal with Gaunter O'Dimm.
