Chapter 287 - Chapter 287 - Dealing with the Wild Hunt Once Again.

[Chapter Size: 2400 Words.]

Third Person POV

Skellige.

...

...

After everyone was fine with the impact of the ship, the Susanoo began to disappear, Zoltan and Dandelion were quite frightened with the giant staring at them as if they were flies.

Madara entered the ship after undoing the Susanoo and freed everyone from their wooden chairs.

Yennefer opened a portal for them to return to the ship in the middle of the sea from where they had come, but not before Madara took all the treasure that was hidden in the other half of that ship. He had also taken the treasure left by the first half of the ship when he went after the medallion.

They then began returning to the main island of Skellige.

"So we saved the day once again! Just wait to see the faces of the ladies of Skellige when they hear about my adventures against a Djinn..." sang Dandelion, while the clones carried the ship back to the harbor.

"You didn't do anything important there, you know that, right?" Zoltan mocked the bard.

At the same time, Ciri left the conversation with Geralt and Yennefer and went to her husband, the real one, standing at the edge of the ship.

"Why are you staring at me?" Ciri asked, not stopping herself from approaching Madara, opening a smile as she held his arm, wanting to feel his warmth.

"I feel something different in me," Madara said in a calm tone, but without taking his eyes off her.

She smiled too. "Me too," she admitted, squeezing his arm even more. "You know we could go inside for a while, right?" she suggested with a seductive tone.

"What you wished for the Djinn wasn't to place the spell in your subconscious, was it?" he said, seeming to intensify his gaze into her eyes even more, waiting for her to tell the truth.

She looked away, a bit shy. "I can't lie to you, can I?"

"You shouldn't even try," Madara replied.

"I thought about what Yen said... It's not like I actually need to put the spell in my subconscious. I can keep it activated all the time. I found that out with Eira yesterday. So there was no need to ask the Djinn for that," she said, admitting it without looking into his eyes.

Madara noticed that she had also created an invisible sound barrier so no one else could hear them on the ship, Yennefer narrowing her eyes at them, and Madara was waiting for Ciri to admit what truly happened.

"Exactly what did you wish for?" he asked.

"I heard from Yennefer what a Djinn did between her and Geralt a long time ago. And even after so long, they still love each other... So I thought that..." Ciri took a deep breath. "I wished for our souls to be bound. So that I could never lose you."

Madara raised an eyebrow. "Where did you think I would abandon you, Ciri? You don't need to ask a Djinn to bind our souls. Fate itself has already done that," he said firmly.

If he still had the Rinnegan, he could have prevented that connection. But in his current state, the Djinn managed to bind his soul to Ciri's through her wish. Now, Madara felt a bond, a longing for her, a presence of her inside him — stronger than before. And Ciri felt it too. She held onto his arm as if she were afraid to let go.

"We're going to be months apart..." she admitted, with a worried tone.

"I will be away, yes, but that doesn't mean I'm going to abandon you, Ciri. Where did you get that idea?" he said, frustrated.

"I was afraid... Afraid that you wouldn't love me anymore while you were gone..." she confessed, lowering her eyes.

Madara sighed, the girl was just a lovestruck teenager after all, she would be stubborn and the idea of having to separate must have been horrible for her. He gently lifted her chin. "So be it. Just keep our child safe. Understood? If you want to do this to be sure I won't leave you or love someone else, then so be it." He kissed her forehead, and she nodded, emotional.

"But you know you'll never love anyone else again, right?" He couldn't help making a joke.

"I don't need to love anyone else." She said firmly. "I have only ever loved you and I will love you forever."

"Even after death?" He raised an eyebrow at her.

"Even after our bodies are rotting under the earth. That could even make us reincarnate in other worlds together, like you did..." she said, getting more excited.

Madara couldn't refute her.

They returned to the castle after arriving at the harbor, while Madara stored the ship itself inside a storage scroll, causing a spectacle for everyone present as they watched the ship disappear before their eyes in a burst of white smoke.

"You arrived at a good time!" Mousesack came running to them even before reaching the ship. "We received a report twenty minutes ago that the Wild Hunt has returned to Skellige. They're in An Skellig!" he said, as Ciri stepped forward.

"What? Those bastards are there!" she said angrily, for she knew they were the reason the island people had been attacked during the last moon.

In fact, Mousesack, along with Yennefer, had placed spells on each of the islands to receive warnings about sudden low temperature and spatial distortions. That was what alerted Mousesack so quickly.

"They're on the Island of An Skellig, to the north of here...," Geralt murmured.

Madara looked at Ciri, who nodded, already knowing what he wanted to do. "Let's go," he said, and she approached him.

"And they still haven't left the island, is that strange?" Madara asked, turning to Mousesack, who nodded, for the members of the Wild Hunt always appeared and left after a few minutes.

"We'll help," Geralt said.

"I think it's better if you stay," Ciri intervened, looking at her father, who raised his eyebrow at her.

She didn't know why, but she felt that something was going to happen there, Ciri replied, sensing a disturbance in the air.

"What is it, Ciri?" Yennefer asked.

"I don't know... I can't see something clearly sometimes, but it's better to stay alert. Madara and I can handle any group of the Wild Hunt in the north, but stay cautious, we'll return as soon as we finish with them." Ciri said.

"Then we'll do as she said." Mousesack spoke thoughtfully, trusting her.

Ciri nodded and took Madara's hand, and a light enveloped the two, disappearing from the castle and reappearing at the top of a mountain on the island.

They could see a village in the distance, covered by a massive snowstorm.

"Those bastards are attacking a village of villagers!" Ciri murmured, while Madara grabbed her by the waist before jumping down, falling in free fall and summoning Toto.

The griffin appeared, and they headed straight into the storm. "Do you think you can break the storm?" Madara asked.

"I can try," Ciri replied, focusing as they approached.

She tried to conjure a spell, but the wind was too strong. The storm was dense and absorbed her magic, undoing it.

"I don't know any stronger spell..." she said, frustrated.

"Then let me take care of the rest." Madara responded. He simply jumped off the griffin, advancing toward the ground and entering directly into the storm. Ciri stayed watching, waiting for any sign of him.

Suddenly, an explosion of wind came from within the snowstorm, circling the whole village. In the next moment, all the snow was pushed back, being destroyed as if it were swept away by a colossal force.

Madara had performed a high-scale wind release jutsu to throw everything around him away as if he were a hurricane, pushing everything aside. The snow dissolved, and Ciri finally saw him in the center of the village, where people were trying to escape from the soldiers of the Wild Hunt—men in black armor, now staring at Madara, surprised.

Everyone noticed that the wind came from him.

"Cá vaedh?" [Who is this?] murmured one of the elves upon seeing the man with the staff.

Ciri knew that was the Navigator — the one responsible for the portals and tracking of the Hunt. One of their most dangerous pursuers. She also knew Madara would be fine facing the armored elves, so she let her rage flow directly toward the navigator.

The rage for those damned elves who hunted her, and her emerald eyes began to glow.

Ciri then let her body shine. In the next instant, she vanished, leaving Toto behind, while the Navigator shouted orders to his men. A flash appeared behind him. Ciri materialized wielding her sword, coating it in green energy.

"N'vael, dh'oine dhol!" [Die, you bastard!] she roared, in the elven tongue she had learned from Madara.

The Navigator tried to turn when he heard that, but it was already too late. The sword passed through his armor easily, as if it were paper, piercing his neck and exiting through the other side, spilling hot blood.

All the portals being held open dissolved instantly, while the Navigator's body collapsed. Ciri placed her foot on his back, pushing him forward and pulling the blade out, leaving all the nearby elves in shock as they watched it.

Her eyes turned to Madara, ignoring the others.

He was already in the middle of battle with the elves, slaughtering the soldiers of the Wild Hunt with a katana coated in purple lightning chakra, cutting them down with brutal ease.

Ciri faced the remaining elves as some called her "Elder Blood" or Zireael when they saw her powers, pointing at her. Madara had told her they identified her that way.

Ciri's sword cracked at that moment. She had put too much rage into it, and it turned into raw power that the weapon could not withstand.

"Damn..." she muttered. She thought about asking Madara for another sword, but he was busy exterminating three elves at once.

Then she remembered. The fight with Madara, when she pulled that sword from the future.

Ciri vanished and appeared farther away, almost outside the village, preventing the elves from attacking her in that moment. They were all searching for her, calling her name, saying she was what they were looking for.

She closed her eyes and searched through the timeline — remembering the sensation of when she lost control of her body in the past while fighting Madara. The sensation of pulling something that didn't belong to that present was something she had done and remembered.

In the next moment, a sword began to form in her hand, surrounded by a green glow. It materialized from the hilt to the tip, a weapon that did not exist in that era — but that one day would.

The sword that was also called nothing less than Zireael.

"I did it..." Ciri whispered as she found herself holding the sword that seemed to be part of her like no other blade. She could use her full power in it.

Her eyes turned to the battlefield. Madara was watching her with the Sharingan from a distance even while fighting the elves and surrounded. When he saw what she had done, he gave a small smile.

Ciri felt her chest warm upon seeing that smile of approval.

She vanished again, appearing on the battlefield to fight at his side.

Through the village streets, people were still trying to hide. There were bodies scattered among the snow — villagers who had been caught in the initial attack of the Hunt, which had appeared without warning.

Now, they would face Ciri and Madara, preventing them from continuing to hunt down the common folk when the strongest warriors of the village had simply perished before those monsters.

The villagers stopped at a certain distance to watch what was happening. Now, without the storm, they could see more clearly the creatures attacking the village: tall men, appearing human, since their long ears were not visible because of the terrifying black armor. They fought against a man in strange clothing, wielding a sword with purple sparks around it, until a woman appeared with a green glow on the battlefield.

The two were slaughtering the enemies — both the spiked monsters and the men in black armor.

Soon it became clear that this was not a fight, but a massacre. The couple handled all the elves with ease. Some tried to cast magic, but were answered by the man, who spat fire, consuming them until no life remained.

Those who survived began to retreat, trying to flee, but shurikens and even kunai with explosive seals flew from a distance, cutting through them and blowing them apart. Only three elves remained, trembling, staring at Madara and Ciri with pure fear.

Ciri was still taken by rage and was relentless. Madara, naturally, as well. When they finished, there was a large number of bodies lying on the ground, blood staining the snow with only 3 members left alive.

Madara activated the Sharingan and stared at the three remaining elves, ignoring their pleas. In a few seconds, he placed them under a genjutsu, forcing their minds to open as he absorbed the information he needed. When he finished, he looked at Ciri with seriousness.

"Those fools were trying to draw attention here. Their real objective was the castle of Ard Skellig. They believed they could find you there, since they know you've been using the power of the Elder Blood on the islands," he said, in a grave tone.

Ciri's eyes widened. She had been right to feel something was about to happen.

Without thinking twice, she took Madara's hand and disappeared with him in a space jump. In the next instant, the elves trapped in the genjutsu began to convulse — their brains short-circuiting and bursting from the inside due to the defensive mechanism implanted to prevent information theft.

They just didn't expect to encounter someone like Madara, capable of extracting everything in a few seconds before the protection seal in their minds could activate.
