Chapter 393 - Chapter 393 - Are You a God?!

[Chapter Size: 2900 Words.]

Third Person POV

Lyria and Rivia.

...

...

And so, the entire armies of Lyria and Rivia watched the scene in complete horror.

It was one thing to face an army. It was something entirely different to witness a power that simply should not exist in that world.

A power that made even Queen Meve feel her knees tremble, unable to believe what was happening.

No one knew how it began, but suddenly everything changed. No one saw the small dark sphere appear in the sky. They only saw that in the next moment, the entire ground began to shake and crack.

Layer after layer, enormous blocks of stone were ripped from the earth and lifted into the air. Rocks the size of small hills surged upward, carrying the entire Nilfgaardian army as though they were absolutely nothing, while they began attaching themselves to something in the sky, forming a gigantic growing circular sphere of stone.

Even the northern army watched it from the other side of the battlefield in complete despair. Even though they were not being affected by it, even though they were not inside that winter taking place within the Nilfgaardian camp.

The sphere grew larger and larger. Man after man was crushed. Some were struck by rocks flying at tremendous speed.

Others desperately tried to escape, only to plummet from heights great enough to smash them against the ground. Some of the rocks and boulders being lifted cracked apart, and men fell with ease, meeting their end in the fall itself.

Many could not even react. They were simply pulled into the sky while their bodies flew without any control.

The entire enemy camp disappeared. A massive cloud of dust covered the area as the stones continued being torn from the ground.

When it was all over... Around fifteen thousand men had been crushed somewhere inside that gigantic sphere that continued to float in the sky, remaining there, completely motionless.

Ciri whistled from where she stood. Her husband had truly gone overboard.

As she watched the destruction from afar, she turned toward him.

"Honey... I was thinking, are you sure we should have destroyed the camp like that? I think it would've been better if we had done it the same way we did at the other camp before coming here." She spoke worriedly, looking at the enormous sphere, which was at least ten thousand feet tall and floated in the sky as though it defied every law of physics and nature.

"Are you worried about what Aren will think of us?" Madara asked, looking at his wife with a raised eyebrow.

Ciri nodded and sighed. "People are going to tell him about this, Madara. They'll tell him what we're capable of... and he'll be afraid of us."

Madara raised an eyebrow. His wife seemed far more worried about what their son would think of them than about the fact that they had just destroyed twenty-five thousand men by themselves only a short while earlier.

"You're forgetting what we did in southern Temeria," he reminded her.

They had left behind an entire camp with twenty-five thousand men completely annihilated.

Almost no one had survived. The few who escaped, along with the men of Temeria, would spread the story across the entire Continent, telling everyone that those two were capable of unleashing attacks that exterminated thousands of people. So what they had done there was not all that impressive anymore—destroying fifteen thousand men with a single move.

To many... They were no longer human.

They were monsters.

Or perhaps... Gods.

Madara had never intended to turn this into a new competition. He simply wanted to end the war as quickly as possible now.

When they arrived at the location, Madara simply turned to his wife again. 'Let me finish this quickly...' As soon as he finished speaking, he raised the palm of his hand, created a small black sphere, and sent it flying above the Nilfgaardian camp.

Once it had risen high enough into the sky, he clapped his hands together.

Finally executing... Chibaku Tensei.

He had used that technique years earlier, in the Brokilon Forest, during the illusion he cast upon Eithné, the queen of the dryads and ruler of the forest, when she tried to capture Ciri for the second time out of greed.

Back then, he had only wanted to show what he was capable of.

After all... He still had a trump card if he needed to use it, and could have unleashed all of his power back then, when he only had around 30% of the system.

But this time, there was no illusion.

Madara still remembered the shock written across the woman's face when he destroyed the entire Brokilon Forest within the illusion, transforming practically the entire 'kingdom' of the dryads into a gigantic sphere floating in the sky, almost as if a new natural satellite had appeared above the Continent.

Now it was different. It was not an illusion—it was the true Chibaku Tensei.

Thousands of people witnessed that technique at the same time, though some of those witnesses were simply unfortunate enough to become part of it.

They did not even have the chance to react. The ground itself began to fly, dragging everything along with it, while an earthquake spread through the area, the sphere pulling every possible stone and clump of earth from the ground.

Only the mages survived the first few moments, desperately teleporting themselves away. Even so, some were caught by the gravity. The sphere randomly chose who would be pulled toward it.

And if you were chosen... There was no escape. Several Nilfgaardian sorcerers were also pulled into the sky, unable to move well enough to create a portal and escape.

Their fate was sealed the instant their bodies struck the enormous sphere, where they were crushed beneath the countless layers of rock that came immediately afterward, and all fifteen thousand Nilfgaardians were trapped inside.

Ciri remained silent. She continued staring at that gigantic mass of stone, men, and destruction.

She was still worried about the image Aren would have of them.

"You know they could have been your men, right? You could still claim the throne of Nilfgaard." Madara could not help making that observation.

After all... She was Emhyr's only biological daughter. She was the true heir to the Empire.

Ciri merely snorted upon hearing that. "I don't care. All I care about is Cintra and what our son thinks of us." she replied stubbornly.

Madara simply smiled. In fact, they already knew that about two years earlier, the Emperor had found an impostor to assume Ciri's identity.

She presented herself as Cirilla and would marry Emhyr, officially uniting Cintra with the Empire and preventing anyone else from attempting to reclaim those lands.

What Emhyr had never expected... Was that the real Ciri had returned. And honestly, neither of them cared.

Ciri had merely snorted in annoyance the first time she heard about it. But why should she care? If she wanted to, she could destroy everything her father had built with extreme ease now.

There was no reason to waste time arguing over someone pretending to be her. Resolving that would be simple.

"And now? What are we going to do?" Ciri asked after that thing in the sky was finished.

"There are still troops stationed in Sodden, preventing Thorne's army from sending reinforcements..." Madara said while continuing to watch the sphere floating in the sky.

"We need to pay them a visit. Can you go deal with them? Meanwhile, I'll head to Verden..." Madara said. He also needed to speak with Meve at her camp.

He also knew that a former Cintran military officer was there. The same man who, years earlier, had gone to see them in Ard Skellige, asking for help in forming a force capable of reclaiming Cintra.

Back then... They had refused. They did not have time for that, as they needed to face far greater enemies.

Ciri heard that and nodded. "All right. Do that. I'll meet up with you later."

The next instant, she disappeared. Madara turned his gaze toward the gigantic oval sphere floating in the sky.

He already knew very well where he would use it again.

In any case, he disappeared as well. He reappeared before Meve using his Eternal Mangekyō Sharingan.

The queen flinched and immediately widened her eyes. "Don't attack!" she shouted before anyone could do anything.

The guards had already drawn their swords and were preparing to charge at Madara. But Meve immediately understood who was standing before her.

After three years... She would never forget that face, and he looked even more imposing now, which meant they had finally returned.

And certainly... Much stronger.

The first thing she managed to say after regaining part of her composure was, "You... are you a god?"

Even for a queen, those words came out filled with hesitation. Any human being would lose their sanity after witnessing power of that magnitude.

Madara briefly looked at the enormous stone sphere that still dominated the sky. Then he turned his attention back to Meve.

He shrugged. "No. But I have the power of one... if that's how you choose to see it."

Meve swallowed hard. "So... you've returned. And from what I can see, you've decided to become Nilfgaard's enemies." She was still trying to regain her composure.

Madara observed the woman. He had always known her as a brave, steadfast, and fearless queen.

Now... She was stammering in front of him. He found that a little amusing. Deep down, her real question was simple.

Are you enemies only of Nilfgaard?

It wasn't difficult to imagine the reason for that concern. By now, the news of the deaths of the two kings, murdered with their heads severed, had probably already spread across the Continent, and she had greatly increased her security after learning of it...

Nor was it difficult to remember that those two monarchs had never hidden their hostility toward Madara Uchiha.

During the meetings between the kings, especially after Madara and Cirilla's disappearance, both had advocated taking measures against them and made their stance perfectly clear.

Meve, on the other hand... Had always maintained a different attitude.

She had never held anything against the two of them. After all, they had saved her kingdom from the dragons. Besides, she still wished to face Cirilla once again as an equal.

But... After witnessing what Madara had done that day... Even Meve felt fear.

Under no circumstances did she want to become the target of that technique.

Because from what she had just seen... Anyone caught by that gigantic sphere in the sky had only one fate.

Death.

"Don't worry. We have nothing against Lyria and Rivia, Queen Meve," Madara said calmly. "We returned not long ago and are already making a few changes. But your kingdom isn't one of them. We have nothing against you, and you owe us nothing."

He paused briefly before continuing. "We've finally decided to reclaim Cintra and put an end to this war today. We've already destroyed part of Nilfgaard's army in southern Temeria. My wife went to Sodden, while I'll head to Verden to deal with the rest."

"I only came to inform you that Cintra has returned... and I don't think we even need to comment on what's going to happen to the southern Empire." As soon as he finished speaking, Madara disappeared without saying another word.

Meve merely sighed.

"My Queen... the deaths of the kings..." one of the advisors said, looking apprehensively at the spot where Madara had been standing only seconds earlier.

"There is no doubt. That man is behind the deaths of the two northern kings. They were his declared enemies. Besides, only someone with that kind of power could have infiltrated both of their palaces." She turned her eyes toward the gigantic sphere that still hovered in the sky.

"And from what we've just seen... he can do far more than infiltrate palaces with incredible ease. He can destroy entire kingdoms..."

Meve remained silent for a few moments after saying that.

"They could destroy all of Redania and Kovir with that power. They could wipe their capitals off the map. Even so... that man still showed mercy by killing only the kings."

She still remembered the words of the King of Kaedwen. About a year earlier, he had reported that he had been coerced by Madara and directly threatened.

Now that Madara had been gone for more than two years, the man had finally found the courage to reveal it.

Meve had always considered him a coward. Only when he believed himself safe had he decided to show just how much he hated Madara.

But... How was he reacting now? Now that he had discovered Madara did not make empty threats.

He truly killed those he considered his enemies.

"Let's go. Prepare a team to investigate the destroyed site. I want to know if there are any survivors in that camp," Meve finally said, still needing to see the destruction for herself, even though Madara had already left.

"There were fifteen thousand men. It's impossible that they were all crushed and taken into that thing in the sky," one of her men muttered in horror.

"Perhaps... But that doesn't matter now. The war ends here," the queen said. "As you can see... our enemy was defeated with a single attack."

"My Queen... is he really a god?" another advisor murmured, unable to take his eyes off the enormous sphere in the sky.

"You heard him. He said he wasn't. But he also said he possesses the power of one. After what we've seen... I believe he wasn't lying about that last part." Meve merely repeated Madara's words.

Then everyone looked up at the sky as a tremendous explosion echoed in the distance.

The gigantic stone sphere was engulfed in smoke, and a few seconds later... It disappeared completely.

"W-Where... where did that thing go?" one of Meve's royal guards asked, his voice trembling.

"I don't know... but I wouldn't want to find out," the queen murmured.

Meanwhile, on the border of Verden, the current king, Kristrin—the very same man who, by coincidence, had been engaged to Ciri when she was six years old, before she fled at the first opportunity into the Brokilon Forest, where she met Geralt—and later, Madara.

Verden had been betrayed by members of its own high command. Kristrin's father, Ervyll, had tried to sell the country to Nilfgaard and was accused of treason before being executed. The former king's son then ascended the throne shortly afterward. But Verden continued fighting against Nilfgaard.

Brugge had already fallen, and part of Verden had also been conquered. Now its armies fought desperately to drive Nilfgaard's forces back while they still could, especially before the fall of Temeria. If Temeria were conquered, it would be a devastating blow to the Northern Kingdoms, which would practically be surrounded.

Verden would never surrender. What no one expected was that, on that day, everything would change.

An intense blue light appeared in the middle of the enemy camp. Not even Verden's soldiers could tell what was happening.

However, that light quickly took shape, terrifying many soldiers as it revealed a gigantic creature.

At the center of the Nilfgaardian camp, Madara unleashed his two-faced, four-armed Susanoo.

Each of its four arms formed a different hand seal, as though two warriors had merged into a single body. The gigantic entity remained motionless while Madara crossed his arms inside it, allowing the Rinnegan to shine.

The approximately twenty thousand Nilfgaardian soldiers fell into complete panic at the sight, having no idea what Madara intended. At first, they did not even recognize him inside that creature. They simply tried to attack it.

Nothing worked.

The Susanoo did not even move. Sword strikes and magic failed to leave so much as a scratch on it.

It merely stood there watching. When the forms of Madara's Susanoo finished weaving their hand seals...

The entire sky darkened.

The soldiers looked up.

Many let their swords fall from their hands.

At that moment...

Every will to fight vanished.

Even Verden's soldiers held their breath as they saw what was appearing above the enemy camp.

Madara used the gigantic stone sphere previously created by Chibaku Tensei. With a single movement, he sent that colossal mass crashing down upon the twenty thousand Nilfgaardian soldiers.

Immediately afterward... He disappeared from the area using Hiraishin.

The impact came a few seconds later as his gigantic meteor collided with the enemy army.

The entire earth shook. Shockwaves spread for miles.

Even in Brokilon, everyone felt the tremor.

Especially Queen Eithné.

Her eyes widened as she recognized that gigantic stone sphere.

Years earlier... She had never forgotten what she had witnessed, even though it had been an illusion, and that stone in the sky... was the same one from the illusion Madara had created.

Now, however... It was no illusion.

As she watched the enormous mass fall in the distance above the treetops, she saw the explosion shake the entire forest.
