Georgie's POV

I watched as Sheldon munched on his sandwich, a book spread wide open in front of him. We were at the library, fresh from taking Miss Ingram's math test.

Honestly? It was a breeze. I wasn't exactly dumb in my past life. A high school test? Pfft, please.

"Hey, guys!" Veronica called out, walking toward us with Tam trailing behind her.

"Tell me something..." I said, locking eyes with Veronica seriously, making her jump a little.

"Wha—what?" she stammered, staring back at me. "I didn't cheat on the test!" she blurted out loudly.

Hearing that, Sheldon shot her a flat look, "I hope you didn't," he said plainly. "Or I'll have to inform the teacher."

"I didn't! God, can you leave me alone?" Veronica huffed, pulling out her lunch.

I chuckled, leaning over to kiss her cheek. "I know, sugar. You worked hard studying last night." I said softly, making her smile.

After kissing her, I turned my suspicious gaze to the next target: Tam.

Feeling my stare, Tam looked confused. "What? I didn't cheat either." he said defensively, "Look at my face, I am asia-".

"No," I cut him off, still watching them both. "I just noticed you two have been showing up together a lot lately... Are you two hiding something from me?"

Their jaws dropped simultaneously, Tam even swallowing nervously.

"Georgie…" Veronica groaned, glaring at me with he deadly stare.

I raised my hands in surrender, laughing lightly.

Tam clutched his chest dramatically. "Wow... I'm glad to be proven innocent, but why do I feel a pain in my chest, huh?"

"Pain?" Sheldon chimed in, immediately covering his mouth and nose. "What happened to your chest? You should go to the hospital! Tell me your symptoms — any shortness of breath? Sweating? Light-headedness? You might have pericarditis — an inflammation of the pericardial sac around your heart! It can be fatal!"

Tam gave Sheldon the most unimpressed look ever. He was used to Sheldon rambling about every worst-case scenario.

"Sheldon, I'm not sick!" Tam said, shaking his head as he dug into his lunch, ignoring Sheldon completely.

Sheldon lowered his hands but still looked puzzled. "I don't understand. Are you sick or not?"

Veronica and I laughed at the two of them.

"No, Sheldon," I explained, "Tam's not literally sick. He was just joking — you know, pretending he has feelings."

I grinned at Tam. "...But no girlfriend."

Tam rolled his eyes as Veronica and I giggled.

"You really enjoy that, don't you?" Tam muttered.

Sheldon shrugged, satisfied now that Tam wasn't contagious and could sit next to him without fear. He returned to his book, tuning us out again.

"So, Sheldon," I said, catching his attention, "what kind of train do you want?"

His eyes lit up immediately.

"Oh boy, that's a good question. Lionel Trains are great — electric, detailed, they even produce smoke—" he started, then stopped. "—But they're expensive and way over my budget."

Still, his hopeful eyes practically begged me to reconsider.

"Keep going," I said, smirking at him, though he should know I wasn't about to splurge beyond our agreement.

"What about Tyco trains? They're affordable and come in lots of models." Tam offered.

"Yes! There's also Bachmann Trains, Playmobil Trains, and LGB Trains. Oh man, I can't decide!" Sheldon said, bouncing with excitement.

I pointed a finger at him. "Hey, pick the best one. Under fifty bucks, alright?"

Sheldon sighed dramatically but nodded. "Alright, alright. When are we going to the train store?"

I glanced at Veronica, who just shrugged.

"Today sounds good. You brought the money, right?" she asked, looking at me.

"Alright then, today it is." I said, earning a huge grin from Sheldon.

"Can I come too?" Tam asked, looking at us with pleading eyes.

"Sure, but you're in charge of keeping Sheldon under control. Me and my lady," I said, winking at Veronica, "are gonna have our own little date at the train store."

Veronica giggled as I kissed her cheek again. "Not a bad idea." she said smilingly.

"Honestly, I'd rather tag along than help out at my parents' store." Tam muttered, shrugging.

"Hey, Georgie!"

I hear someone calling my name, I turned and saw James approaching, with Kayla and Edo following behind.

"Well, well, who's back at school?" I said, standing up to meet them.

"Georgie, if you're going to be noisy, please do it outside," Miss Sheryl called from her desk, looking at us sternly. "Unlike me, who doesn't have many friends. Just my cat."

"Sorry, Miss Sheryl," I said quickly before turning back to Veronica. "I'll be back, alright? I think this is important."

Veronica smiled, but I could see the smile didn't quite reach her eyes — especially with Kayla throwing side glances at her.

"Sure. Just don't take too long, okay?" she said, kissing my cheek.

"Boy, you two just keep licking each other, huh?" Sheldon piped up loudly.

"Indeed…" Tam mumbled under his breath "…I wanna do that with a girl too…", still loud enough for Sheldon to hear.

Sheldon gave Tam a weird look but I just laughed and left them behind.

James, Kayla, and Edo led me out of the library. I had no idea why they needed me, but judging from their faces, it was probably about the band — and Luminous.

"So, what's up?" I asked, eyeing the three of them. "I thought you guys were gonna drop out together?"

James gave Edo an awkward glance.

"…That was the plan. But we need to think it through. After the concert, we'll make the final decision," he said, and Edo nodded.

"Unlike this chick," Edo snapped, pointing at Kayla. "She already dropped out! Seriously, Kayla, what were you thinking?"

I glanced sideways at Kayla — and realized she had her hand on my arm, way too close to her chest for my comfort.

"Alright, stop." I said, trying to pull my hand away from her soft place.

"You wanna touch my ass? Sure, here you go." Kayla said, guiding my hand onto her butt.

"No! Stop it!" I refused again, looking desperately at James and Edo for help. They both tried to separate Kayla from me—well, tried was the key word.

"Stop it, Kayla. You're bothering Georgie," James said, but he made no real effort to actually pull her away or anything. And Edo? He just lightly tugged on Kayla's shirt, like a little kid clinging to his mom in a mall.

"What are you doing with that skank? Are you playing date with her?" Kayla asked, glaring at me. "You can play date with me too."

*SMACK

"Alright, that's enough!" I finally snapped, slapping her ass hard enough that some of the other students nearby turned their heads toward us.

Kayla froze. James and Edo stared at me in shock, but most importantly—Kayla finally shut up. "Phew... So, what's going on?" I asked, flashing a bright smile at the three of them.

"Uhmm... well, Miss Fenley gave us some money, and this is your share, Georgie." James said, handing me an envelope.

"Oh! Nice! Thanks, bro!" I said, pulling him into a quick hug. "I was thinking about buying my brother a train set or something. Is this from the gig?"

James nodded, "Yeah. A couple bars gave us an advance payment so we can perform again tomorrow. So be sure to show up, alright?" he said, shooting a glance at Kayla, who still looked stunned.

Edo gave an awkward look between Kayla and me, clearly uncomfortable. "Alright. I'll see you tomorrow," I said, ruffling Kayla's hair. "I am sorry, okay? Stop being naughty, We'll have fun tomorrow."

"Uhm…" Kayla mumbled without looking at me.

"Alright, Georgie. See you tomorrow," James said, dragging Kayla away by the arm. "What the hell were you thinking?!" he scolded her as they walked off. Edo followed, giving Kayla a disapproving glare.

"I'm too old for this shit…" I muttered and headed back into the library.

At our usual table, I plopped down next to Veronica with a grin. "Hey, what were you guys talking about?" Veronica asked, noticing me.

"They came to give me money," I said, tossing the envelope onto the table. "I don't know how much is inside, but it's kinda thick."

Tam's eyes widened. "Are you gonna open it here?" he asked, but his face screamed 'I wanna see what's inside.'

"If there's a lot of money in there, can I—" Sheldon started, but I cut him off. "A deal's a deal, Shelly! You can't break it! Under fifty bucks only!" I reminded him. "This money's for my queen," I said dramatically.

"Stop it, Georgie," Veronica said, giving me a playful smack on the shoulder.

"I meant for Missy and my mom, actually—" I started, but Veronica interrupted again, "I said, stop it!"

I laughed and slowly tore open the envelope, the ripping sound loud in the quiet library. Tam and Sheldon leaned in, curiosity practically dripping off them—I could even hear them swallow.

"Oh... Ohhhh... OHHHHH!!!" I stared at the contents, my face lighting up.

"WHAT?!" Tam shouted.

"Don't keep us waiting!" Sheldon added.

"Oh, it's only 200 bucks," I said flatly, pulling the cash out for everyone to see.

Sheldon and Tam slammed their heads onto the table in disappointment. Veronica just rolled her eyes and muttered, "Boys."

"We could go see a movie later," I suggested to Veronica, wiggling my eyebrows. "You know... just you and me."

Veronica chuckled, leaned in, and whispered something into my ear—something every guy dreams of hearing from his girl.

My neck stiffened. I turned to see Veronica biting her lip mischievously.

"Really?" I whispered.

She didn't answer, just stared into my eyes and wiggled her eyebrows. "But that's expensive..." I murmured, then added, "But I really wanna see it..."

"Well, you're the one with the money," Veronica teased. "I don't even know if they'll sell it again next year. But it's okay if you don't want to."

I clenched my jaw. I didn't want to blow all my money on that thing... but her face made it hard to say no.

Still, I shook my head and smiled at her. "Nope. We're gonna go on a normal date like normal couples do!"

"What are you guys talking about?" Tam asked, shooting us a disgusted look. "Please don't talk dirty in here."

Sheldon, of course, missed the entire subtext. "What part of it was dirty?" Sheldon asked, confused.

Tam sighed and patted Sheldon's shoulder. "Someday you'll get it, buddy. Someday."

Sheldon instantly shoved his hand away. "Don't touch me! You're covered in germs!" he snapped, handing Tam a bottle of Purell.

3rd POV - James and Edo

James and Edo stood outside, looking at Kayla, who still seemed completely shell-shocked. "Don't be mad at Georgie. You're the one who couldn't leave him alone," James said.

Edo nodded. "He's right."

"I..." Kayla mumbled, looking between them. "I think... I'm falling in love."

James and Edo exchanged weirded-out looks. Georgie hadn't hit her head or anything... right?. "What the fuck are you talking about, Kayla?!" James blurted out. "I can't do this," he said, giving up and looking at Edo, who was just as confused.

"No, no," Kayla insisted. "At first I was just messing with him. I just wanted to sleep with him..." she added nonchalantly.

James and Edo stared at her like she'd completely lost it. "But when he slapped me..." Kayla said, smiling weirdly.

James rubbed his forehead in exhaustion. Just listening to her was draining his soul. "You can't do that. Georgie has a girlfriend. He's not into you, Kayla." Edo said seriously.

Kayla's face twisted in anger. "Oh yeah? That slut?!"

"Stop it!" James snapped, grabbing her wrist and making her look into his eyes. "Georgie will get mad if you do something he doesn't like. You need to understand that!" James said, sighing deeply. "You're my friend, and I don't want you messing with people like that."

Edo nodded and chuckled. "Yeah, besides, Georgie sees you more like a little sister anyway."

Both James and Kayla froze and stared at Edo.

"What?" Edo blinked at their reaction. "You seriously didn't notice? I mean, come on, Kayla, you're the girl here."

"No."

"Nope"

James and Kayla said at the same time.

Edo stood there, feeling very awkward... and wondering if he was just being way too sensitive.
