Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: Transfiguration Classroom

Jian Yu never imagined that she would catch a spotted cat in the Transfiguration classroom.

She entered the classroom and had just put down her book when she saw a cat's head with a copper-brown background and black stripes sticking out of the podium.

It's quite distinctive, with square spectacle stripes around the eyes.

"Meow~Meow~" she greeted him in feline language.

If it had been an ordinary kitten, it would have responded with a meow.

But this spotted cat was different. He jumped up on the podium, glared at her, turned his head proudly, and looked straight at the empty seats in front of him.

'Cat, you've managed to get my attention!'

With this in mind, Jian Yu walked up to the podium with great interest and let him smell her perfume to familiarize himself with her.

But he jumped aside in disgust.

If you don't accept my toast, then don't blame her for taking action herself!

Jian Yu gently pinched the back of the cat's neck, then reached under its armpit and lifted it, supporting its thigh with his other hand. The whole set of movements was completed in an instant, and the spotted cat suddenly lay down in her arms.

He looked at her in disbelief and began to struggle with all his limbs, but finally gave up his resistance in the face of Jian Yu's firm restraint and lay down obediently in her arms, allowing her to flatten, round, and stroke his fur.

Jian Yu used a few fingers to gently massage his head and lightly massage his Baihui acupuncture point; then she slowly stroked his fur from his head to his back.

After repeating this process several times, the cat flattened itself into a cat pancake in her arms and almost turned into a puddle of water.

Well, a forced melon is always sweet.

At that moment, however, something strange happened!

"Incarcerous"

"Transfiguration"

The spotted cat was immediately tied up with ropes and placed in a cat bag made from a stool.

He let out a scream, showed his sharp claws, and started scratching the cat's bag.

But to no avail.

Jian Yu's heart filled with joy. She would finally have her kitten!

Transfiguration class is nothing compared to having a kitten!

When one day she has a cat and a dog, she'll be a winner in life!

She ran into the dormitory with her cat bag in hand, leaving behind a group of Slytherin students who were about to enter the Transfiguration room.

"You have to stay here and wait for me to come back after class."

Placing the cat bag on the bed, Jian Yu gave instructions to the kitten, regardless of whether it understood or not.

Then she ran back to class.

...

Since she started teaching in 1956, Minerva McGonagall has appeared as an animagus in each new student's first Transfiguration lesson.

According to her plan, she first appeared on the podium in the form of a tabby cat and, when the bell rang, she jumped up and transformed into a human, attracting the astonishment of the students.

Over the last 35 years, it has never failed and has achieved excellent results. These new students are impressed by the wonders of transfiguration, and so they dedicate themselves to studying this course with total enthusiasm.

But this year seems different.

She turned into a cat and stood on the podium, looking out at the empty classroom. She had already planned what she would do next - turn the podium into a pig and vice versa. He decided that he should change his opening speech; the old one was too cliché.

'Hmm? New students arriving so soon?'

Professor McGonagall was very surprised. She was very happy to have a student who loved Transfiguration so much. Of course, it would be even better if the student were from Gryffindor instead of Slytherin - she thought so.

No, something's wrong.

The new student seemed too attentive, too enthusiastic for her to resist.

Huh?

How did I get vague?

Who's rubbing me? My hair!

Is it really that comfortable?!

"Ai-"

The moment she was tied up and put in the cat bag, four words popped into her mind:

My life is over!

She wanted to perform a miracle right there and take ten points off Slytherin.

But she immediately saw, through the transparent plastic of the bag, the Slytherin students clustered outside, and then she and the bag moved quickly down the corridor, led by the freshman.

The corridors were full of students from all grades getting ready for class.

Her old face turned red.

Her claws were so embarrassed that they almost dug a castle out of the cat's bag.

If the students saw their beloved Professor McGonagall in such a miserable state, where would she put her old face?

During the bumpy ride, she looked down at the cat bag that had been turned into a stool and admired in her heart that this freshman's transfiguration skills were really good, and she must have been at the level of a second or third grader.

If she were in class right now, she'd probably say, "Ten points for Slytherin!"

But unfortunately, it wasn't class time yet. After Jian Yu left the dormitory, she immediately restored the cat bag to its original shape, ran out of the Slytherin common room, transformed into a human in a remote corner, and ran towards the Transfiguration room.

But she was still twenty-three minutes late!

This was undoubtedly a blow to her 35-year career as a teacher.

...

"Where's Professor McGonagall?"

"It's been 20 minutes since class started. Why hasn't the teacher arrived yet?"

"Should we go and find someone in the office?"

The little snakes started whispering to each other.

Jian Yu was also surprised.

I didn't expect Professor McGonagall to be even later than me!

She unilaterally concluded that the teacher is a slacker like her.

"I'm sorry, students, there's been a bit of an accident..."

Professor McGonagall appeared in the doorway and hurried into the classroom.

She looked anxious. The witch's hat on her head was tilted to one side, and her dark green cloak was a little messy. Her face was flushed from the intense exercise. She spoke breathlessly: "Sorry for wasting everyone's time. Let's get straight to the point."

"First of all, the fundamental law of Gamp's Transfiguration... Transfiguration cannot be created out of nothing..."

After the students had made several notes, she gave them each a match to practice turning it into a needle.

For a moment, the classroom was filled with the sound of chanting.

Most of the first-year Slytherin students came from magical families, and their family background made it much easier to learn the basics of magic. Soon, many people's matches began to change, from wooden matches to silver ones.

"Concentrate and imagine the shape of a needle..." Professor McGonagall walked through the crowd and instructed the students.

Draco applied all his strength, pointing the tip of his wand at the match, and finally, after ten minutes, he successfully transformed himself into a silver needle with pointed ends.

He raised his hands triumphantly and began to show off loud and clear.

"Look!"

The little snakes around celebrated.

"Perfect silver needle! 5 points for Slytherin!" Professor McGonagall picked up the silver needle and announced.

Then a boy called Theodore Nott also succeeded, gaining another 3 points for Slytherin.

Jian Yu sat in the back row of the classroom, hiding her figure.

She was planning how to "accidentally" make the unfortunate person in front of her, Miss Millicent, grow a pigtail.

That day, she went back and looked up the meaning of "bad-blooded" and realized that she had been insulted.

But why was the teacher still standing in front of her?

It didn't give her a chance to act; she couldn't act in front of the teacher!

Professor McGonagall looked in her direction several times, darkly, and pretended to casually walk past her desk several times.

The cat teacher couldn't help but sigh.

This student clearly has great talent and excellent Transfiguration skills, but he's not willing to show himself.

She thought she understood Jane Yu: a poor little girl from an orphanage, bullied by Slytherin and forced to lower her tone to avoid attracting attention.

Then she looked at Jian Yu with eyes full of pity.

Time passed minute by minute, and Professor McGonagall walked to the podium, ready to end the lesson.

It will be too late if we don't act now!

Jian Yu became anxious and shouted "Transfiguration", and a red light came out of the tip of his wand.

...

"Ah--"

The students shouted.

"Crackling..." is the sound of the roof timbers breaking!

The candle-lit chandelier above the Transfiguration classroom was in ruins and suddenly fell from the ceiling!

The students screamed and scattered.

Theodore was about to dodge, but it was too late.

The chandelier was about to fall on his head.

Everyone closed their eyes in pity, knowing that he was about to be killed right there.

But then a clear and pleasant "Transfiguration" was heard.

The large chandelier instantly turned into a pigtail, fell into Theodore's arms, and shook a few times!

The students looked in the direction of the sound, shocked, only to see Jian Yu standing there, expressionless, wand still in hand.

Professor McGonagall rushed over, picked up the pig's tail, and examined it carefully.

"A perfect Transfiguration spell! Miss Jian is helpful and friendly to her classmates, 20 points for Slytherin!"

Looking in Jian Yu's direction, his kindness was about to overflow from his heart.

Poor child, she still helps her classmates even though she's being bullied. What a good and kind child!

And she also likes cats and is good at stroking cats...

Although her teaching plans were interrupted, the most important thing was that she discovered Jian Yu's heart of gold!

Jian Yu lowered his wand in frustration.

Who would have thought that Millicent, who was standing, would suddenly crouch down to pick up the feather?

The little person in his heart bit her handkerchief and cried.

As a result, she cast a Transfiguration spell that missed its target and hit the chandelier!

The evasion rate didn't increase!

'But saving a classmate can be considered a good deed for me.'

She consoled herself in this way.

Little did she know that her heroic act of saving people had changed her image in the minds of some students.

Theodore grabbed the pig's tail and stared in her direction, not knowing what he was thinking.
