Chapter 203 - 203. Talk no Jutsu

The Magic that Alex wants to use on Future Rogue is none other than Genjutsu. He can use Genjutsu since his Rinne-Sharingan got activated.

Obviously, it's not at the level of Shisui's Kotoamatsukami or even Infinite Tsukuyomi. But it is still more powerful than Sharingan Genjutsu, maybe at the level of Itachi's Tsukuyomi or at least a powerful Sharingan Genjutsu.

Before removing the seal on Future Rogue's eyes to use his Genjutsu, Alex absorbs most of Future Rogue's magic power so the guy won't have enough power to resist his Genjutsu.

After that, Alex removes the Shukaku seal on Future Rogue's eyes and as soon as Future Rogue looks at him, he activates his Rinne-Sharingan Genjutsu.

As planned, Future Rogue falls into his Genjutsu and can't resist it with almost no magic power. The weakened Future Rogue can't resist when Alex's Genjutsu hypnotizes him to answer everything truthfully.

"He should start answering everything truthfully now. You can try to ask something to check."

Alex steps back and Hisui asks something that only she and Future Rogue know, their private conversation that she hasn't even revealed to her trusted aides.

He answers everything in detail, convincing her that he will answer everything truthfully, so she immediately asks the truth about the Dragon attack.

Then as Alex has told them, Future Rogue says that the Dragons are coming out of the Eclipse Gate, shocking Hisui, Arcadios, and Darton because it confirms that the Gate is connecting 2 different times.

That means in the Future Rogue's timeline, the original Eclipse Plan that Hisui and Arcadios made to travel to the past to kill Acnologia failed and the Dragons are coming through the Gate instead.

Future Rogue's timeline was destroyed by those Dragons, so they are wondering why he didn't want to change it and stop the Dragons. His answer really shocks and terrifies them.

"I will control the Dragons coming out of that Gate using Magic. Then I'll use them to defeat Acnologia rule over the world, becoming the true Dragon King."

"Then, about using the Eclipse Gate as a cannon to shoot very powerful energy to kill the Dragons?" Hisui asks with a trembling voice.

"It was a lie. Eclipse Gate doesn't have such a function."

That answer makes them want to hit Future Rogue, but Alex stops them. "It's better to get more information from him. He might know things that aren't known by the other time-traveler who met me."

Hisui asks about a few more things, but there's not much information they can gain because Fiore got destroyed very quickly after the Dragons appeared in Future Rogue's timeline.

He tells them the reason he changed and why he killed Sting, but nothing he says justifies his action because he purely wants to rule the world now, controlling it. In a sense, he wants to be something worse than Acnologia.

They ask him the reason their original Eclipse Plan failed, but he doesn't know that much because it was a secret project done by the Kingdom and everyone who knew it died early in his timeline.

"Sigh, you really need to ask him why you fail?" Alex is dumbfounded by their idiocy, or he should say naivety. He is by no means a smart person, but even he knows that their plan is plain dumb.

"Do you know something?" Hisui asks seriously.

"Yeah, I know that it will never work. First of all, you plan to kill Acnologia in the past, but do you even know where he was? Secondly, could you even go that far to the past? What if this Gate was made after Acnologia turned into a Dragon? Can you go even further than that? Thirdly, even if you could do that, could you survive in that era? It was an era of Dragons, they were everywhere, and most of them were hostile towards humans. The reason Acnologia and some more people in the past learned Dragon Slayer Magic was to kill Dragons that preyed upon humans. Let's say you managed to kill Acnologia, what would you do about the Dragons? In the past, it has been proved that only Acnologia could kill all those hostile Dragons, although he also killed the good ones. But without Acnologia, many of those hostile Dragons might still be alive today. Also, if you killed Acnologia in the past, then Fiore might not exist today, we might not exist because our ancestors might get killed by Dragons. The Fiore and people you want to protect might not even come to existence."

"I-it is fine as long as the world is saved." Hisui still believes in the plan.

"And who will save it? Will the people you send kill all the hostile Dragons? Are you sure you will have the resources and power to kill Acnologia and all the hostile Dragons? There are too many uncertainties in your plan. You don't just need to kill Acnologia, but also all the hostile Dragons in the past, and don't forget about Zeref. Do you think even the 10 Wizard Saints have the power to fight that many enemies? And you only planned to send your people? Don't be too naive, Princess. Finding a way to kill Acnologia now is more possible than executing your plan. You want to inform the people who live at that time? Sure, but will that guarantee the success? What if you just worsened the war between humans and Dragons which might actually kill all humans instead? We don't even have methods to kill Dragons, so how will you even help the Ancient People who could make more powerful Magic than us? Were you trying to tell them to kill Acnologia and the Dragons quickly but couldn't tell them how?"

Alex gives so many logical points, but the Princess is still unsure. "T-that's....."

"Sigh, how about this? Gather everyone you want to send to the past and let me fight them. If they can defeat me, then I'll admit you have a chance. But if they lose just when fighting me, then they won't stand a candle against Dragons. Heck! Even 1 normal Dragon might wreck them if they can't even defeat me. Furthermore, they don't have Dragon Slayer Magic. Humanity could only start to fight Dragons on a more equal ground since they learned Dragon Slayer Magic. If you can't even send Dragon Slayers for your plan, then don't even hope to succeed."

Alex's proposal surprises everyone there, but it does make sense. If they really need to fight against Dragons, then they really need to have sufficient strength.

Hisui is almost convinced and to Alex's surprise, the old Minister of Defense is supporting his reasons.

Darton reminds her how dangerous it is to change the past, especially a very distant past. Doing so can change everything in the world and as Alex said, there's no guarantee it will actually save the world.

"I also didn't realize it until he said it, but it's true that Acnologia killed all the Dragons that were hostile toward humans. We might cause an even worse future by killing Acnologia before the hostile Dragons were eradicated, and as he said, we don't know if we can go to the exact time before Acnologia turned into a Dragon because if the Eclipse Gate works by connecting 2 times, then the furthest we can go is when it had just been created. And we don't know if it's before or after Acnologia turned into a Dragon."

It seems to be enough to convince the Princess who already realized that she hasn't thought about everything thoroughly.

"Then, our effort all these years by gathering magic power from the Grand Magic Games was useless?" Hisui is down.

"Hmm, I won't say it's useless. You might be able to use it for emergency situations. Like if a disaster does suddenly happen and it's actually preventable, then you can use it to travel back to change it. But you really do need to ask everything about this Gate to Anna. I'm sure you can find her with your resources. A device that can connect times is incredibly dangerous if not handled properly. I always said this to my friends. You need to gather information first before doing anything. A little misinformation can end up ruining everthing you've worked on. But what you're betting here isn't just the money you get from doing a job, it's the lives of your people, and possibly the whole world. Can you take responsibility for that if you fail?"

With that last push, Alex finally manages to convince Hisui to completely abandon the Eclipse Plan. This is the 1st time he manages to change fate just through words. He feels like Naruto now with his Talk no Jutsu.
