Lindsay stared at the table, speechless.
Brandon had never spoken much about his family. Every time the topic came up, he quickly changed the subject.
She was also curious how Brandon could afford to dine at Carter's Restaurant so often, considering the prices were not low.
Now, she was beginning to suspect that Brandon might not be a biological member of the Carter family.
After a few seconds of silence, she forced a smile.
"Brandon doesn't like to talk about family matters. We don't even know what his family does," she explained.
Avery seemed to be thinking about this for a moment.
"I see," she said thoughtfully. "He doesn't like to talk about company matters either. When we ask him at home, he always says everything is going well at the company."
Lindsay let out a helpless sigh and said,
"That's just how he is. He handles everything on his own and doesn't want others to worry about him."
