"A little bit hot in here," I mumbled to myself, Nadia overhearing me.
"When we get out of the lobby, it will be better."
Before we got out of the lobby, we met with a personnel sent by the chief. Following her, we quickly left the crowded lobby and stepped into a secluded elevator, our shoulders relaxing as we were hit with chilled air from the AC.
"You will have to excuse the chief's absence in welcoming you. At the moment she is on an important call with the governor and cannot—"
I left whatever the young lady was babbling to Nadia's mind, taking amusement in watching Annie, who was pacing back and forth in her office, pondering on a topic I might be able to guess.
"Please take a seat. When the chief is free, you will be informed. In the meantime, would you like something to drink?"
"I'm fine."
I didn't let Nadia, who had something to say, speak. Leaning into my seat, I crossed my legs, my fine black suit upping my aura.
