A year ago, Law set up a platform dedicated to selling antiques, named the [Lawlin Museum].
In fact, the name was suggested by Salin, taking the 'Lin' from her name, the character 'Bo' from Sabro's name, and finally Law's name, combining them into [Lawlinbo Museum]. (T/N: Sabro's real name is Sabo.)
However, the name sounded awkward, so they simply dropped one 'Bo', finalizing the name.
The omitted 'Bo' came from Sabro's name, but he didn't particularly mind.
The website's setup was quite haphazard. The only people in charge were Law, Salin, and Sabro, and not a single qualified network technician among them.
There was no promotion either, as it just quietly went live, becoming one of the many inconspicuous websites out there.
Law, with his deep pockets, rented a floor in the Hunter Association's Headquarters from Netero and placed the servers there. After completing all the necessary procedures, the company was officially established.
The Hunter Association's Headquarters wasn't just available for rent to anyone. It was only because of Law's close relationship with Netero that an exception was made.
However, the process of renting a high floor in the Hunter Association's Headquarters wasn't easy. Netero even threw out the condition that Law had to join the Zodiacs.
Law found the position of a Zodiac too troublesome. After all, he has to handle a lot of tasks for Netero regularly, and decisions couldn't be made unilaterally… instead, they required voting among the other Zodiacs' members. So, he refused.
At first, Netero was quite adamant, but Law eventually wore him down, and the condition of joining the Zodiacs was dropped.
Speaking of which, Netero really went to great lengths to get Law to join the Zodiacs. He deliberately kept one position vacant, reserved specifically for Law.
Yet, to this day, Law still doesn't even have a Hunter License.
The funny thing is, Law takes the Hunter Exam every year but spends the entire time 'rescuing' the examinees, drastically increasing the pass rate each time.
Originally, the Hunter Exam's pass rate was one examinee every three years. But after Law started interfering, the pass rate increased tenfold!
And for some reason, this guy got his hands on a human skin mask and has been having way too much fun with it.
Back to the main topic.
The initial setup of the website was done by Milluki. The security programs, antique information entry, website layout design, and functional programming were all handled by Milluki… though, of course, Law more or less forced him into doing it.
At the beginning, Milluki's skills were, at best, second or third-rate, and the website he built was full of flaws.
Fortunately, over the past year, his skills improved rapidly. Not only did he make the website visually appealing, but the security programs also became incredibly robust.
Milluki's room was large but crammed with all sorts of otaku collectibles, making it feel quite cramped.
Three computers were piled on the desk, their screens glowing white. Several empty bags of potato chips were scattered nearby, and the keyboard was littered with tiny chip crumbs. The whole desk looked like a mess.
Milluki was so startled by Law's sudden appearance that he fell off his chair, but he quickly got up and sat back down, the chair creaking loudly under his weight.
He rummaged through the potato chip bags, realized they were all empty, and casually swept them onto the floor before glancing sideways at Law, "First, tell me how many pests there are."
Law walked over, waved his hand, and used his Nen to swiftly sweep all the snack debris off the desk, along with the trash on the floor, straight into the trash can.
After finishing, he grinned at Milluki and said, "Could it be that since the number is too many, you are unwilling to do it?"
"Uh…" Milluki forced a dry laugh, "No way. But I at least need to know what I'm dealing with."
Law patted Milluki's shoulder, lit a cigarette, and said, "Thirty-six."
"Only thirty-six? That's not too bad." Milluki let out a sigh of relief, thinking it'd probably take about a month to handle.
Law took out a receiver and handed it over. "Same rules as always. Dig them all out for me."
Milluki took the U-shaped receiver and sighed, "Can't you just hire a decent programmer? Do you really have to bother me every time."
"I just haven't found the right person yet. Otherwise, why don't you come work for me? You can name your annual salary." Law took a light drag from his cigarette, the tip glowing faintly red.
Milluki rolled his eyes upon hearing this and grumbled, "Why don't you just ask my dad to kill me? And please respect my profession."
As he spoke, he plugged the receiver into the main computer, and the signal light immediately began blinking rapidly.
Law exhaled a puff of smoke and glanced around the room at the various anime figures and lifelike dolls, thinking how out of place Milluki seemed in the Zoldyck Family.
Noticing Law's deliberate gaze, Milluki snapped, "That's just a personal hobby."
"Got it, got it." Law deadpanned, then said, "First, check if any of these pests are too troublesome."
Milluki's fingers flew across the keyboard as he declared confidently, "No matter how troublesome they are, I can take them down."
Law looked at Milluki, who was full of killing intent, and asked with a smile: "Milluki, have you mastered Nen yet?"
"Yeah," Milluki replied without looking up.
"Does it have anything to do with computers?" Law continued to ask.
"No."
"Then, have you ever thought about expanding your Nen to specialize in something computer-related?"
"I'm not crazy. Besides, I'm already a genius when it comes to computers. Why would I need Nen to help?" Milluki said disdainfully.
"Is that so? Well, good luck then. I'll wait for your good news." Law gave Milluki's shoulder another pat and turned to leave.
Milluki suddenly stopped what he was doing, turned around and looked at Law, and asked, "Every time, you just hand me the 'terminal' like this. Aren't you afraid I'll just hack into your account and steal a few billion?"
Law showed a strange expression and said, "If you need money, just ask me directly. A few billion is nothing."
"…" Milluki was speechless and resumed typing.
"Oh, right. Among these pests… there might be professional Hacker Hunters. If you can't handle it, let me know in time." Law reminded him before leaving the room.
"Tsk, isn't it just Hacker Hunters?"
Milluki sneered and focused entirely on the screen.
An hour later, sweat was dripping from Milluki's face and body.
"What kind of people did that bastard Law piss off?!"
Gritting his teeth, Milluki pushed his typing speed to the limit, the keyboard clattering nonstop under his fingers. Yet no matter how hard he fought, he was steadily losing ground against the opponent's overwhelming data flood.
After an hour of intense battle, he hadn't made any progress… in fact, he was on the verge of losing his last line of defense.
"I can't hold on!"
With a furious roar, Milluki severed the connection, cutting off his 'tail' to retreat from the battle and barely preserving his final defense.
"They're cheating! They have to be cheating!"
Milluki pulled his hands away from the keyboard and collapsed onto the floor, drenched in sweat.
'The opponent hiding behind the network was just too strong…!'
'Is it Nen...?'
