Even though he had promptly activated his Aura and used Ko to defend himself, the Nen Bullet still pierced right through.
As he was sent flying backward in shock, Saiyu suddenly noticed something strange… there was a small hole in his right abdomen where the Nen Bullet had struck, but he felt no pain, and no blood was flowing out.
No, that wasn't quite right.
It wasn't a piercing wound. Instead, the part of his body that had been hit by the Nen Bullet had been cleanly separated… nerves, blood vessels, bones, and flesh, all neatly excised.
'Did I miss…?'
Law narrowed his eyes, glancing up at the brightly lit lighting equipment overhead.
That Nen bullet was originally aimed to blast out Saiyu's heart. But because his aim was slightly off, it ended up being nothing more than a negligible injury.
If he had successfully extracted Saiyu's heart, then protecting it would have become a fatal constraint for Saiyu in battle.
Conversely, failing to extract the heart meant this attack was nothing more than a waste of Aura.
This was the unavoidable flaw of God's Hand… if it struck a non-vital area, the actual damage was practically zero.
Moreover, since Saiyu had already failed to defend against it with Ko, landing another hit would likely require close combat from now on.
Still, this man was a future member of the Zodiacs. His strength was indeed formidable… his mindset, as well as the high-level Nen Techniques he had displayed in their brief exchanges, were all first-rate.
'Well… To prevent this attack from being completely meaningless, I might as well make use of Kuro.' Law mused silently.
Saiyu landed and poked a finger through the hole in his abdomen. After some probing, his earlier suspicion was confirmed.
'No bleeding, no pain… had he sacrificed actual damage in exchange for overwhelming penetrative power? No wonder even my Ko couldn't block it. But from now on, I'd have to be even more careful!'
"You know how to use Divine Script too."
Saiyu steadied himself, his cold gaze fixed on Law.
"I have a rather unreliable friend who's quite skilled in Divine Script, so I picked up a few tricks by the way." Law kept sensing Kuro's position while staring at Saiyu, speaking nonchalantly, "Though I'm not particularly good at it, it's more than enough to deal with you."
Upon hearing this, Saiyu snorted coldly.
'Not particularly good?'
'The Divine Script I had set up in two locations had taken nearly fifteen minutes each to inscribe. Yet he had just drawn his Divine Script in less than five seconds?'
Normally, Divine Script was used to supplement Nen Abilities. Though there were many variations, most of its effects boiled down to [Enhancement].
However, since inscribing Divine Script required a significant amount of time and its effects were usually limited to a narrow, fixed area, it was practically useless in real-time combat.
Combined with the high difficulty of learning and mastering it, many Nen Users, even if they knew about Divine Script, weren't willing to spend the effort to study it.
'I only learned it because of the special abilities of my [Three Monkeys]. Even so, while preserving the effects of [Fixation] and [Enhancement], it still takes me fifteen minutes to inscribe one Divine Script.'
'This guy's skill in Divine Script is far from 'not good'. But that's not the main thing to worry about.'
Earlier, when Law slammed his palm against the ground, it wasn't just to send the chairs flying… it was also to mask the act of inscribing the Divine Script. And the chairs flying toward him had distracted Saiyu from noticing the flow of Aura as Law drew the script.
'What a terrifying guy…'
'No wonder Netero went out of his way to reserve a seat in the Zodiacs for him.'
Saiyu's thoughts raced. He didn't press the attack further, waiting instead for his [Listen Monkey], the one that had gone to turn on the lights, to return.
Law didn't make any move either. He was waiting for Kuro to arrive.
One second, two seconds, three seconds…
About eight seconds later, Law suddenly called out to the air, "Kuro, if you're not an idiot, you should know what I'm thinking."
Saiyu was taken aback, his guard rising as he coldly asked: "What trick are you playing now?"
Law ignored him, pointing instead at the wound on Saiyu's abdomen and smiling, "You've already noticed it yourself, haven't you? The wound isn't bleeding, and there's no pain. But that's still a part of your body. Not retrieving it immediately is downright negligent."
Hearing this, Saiyu's expression changed drastically as realization struck… but it was already too late.
Sshhkk…
Blood suddenly began gushing from the wound.
Saiyu let out a low grunt as sharp pain lanced through him.
"Alright, now let me guess why you specifically sent your gun-wielding Nen Beast to turn on the lights." Law raised a hand, pointing at the overhead lighting, "Do you lack vitamin A? Are you a sunshine boy? Or are you bad at fighting in the dark?"
Saiyu gritted his teeth and began to think of giving up.
"No, that's not it. Your initial aggressive assault was because you knew Killua was my weak point in this fight. So, sending your Nen Beast away just to turn on the lights at this moment is an illogical move."
"Though this move ended up saving your life, that's just thanks to your luck."
"In other words, turning on the lights was more important than seizing the opportunity. And your Nen Beasts are two monkeys… one that silences the enemy, and one that takes away their hearing."
"So, could there also be monkeys that take away vision, smell, or touch?"
Listening to Law's words one after another, Saiyu forced himself to remain calm, but his wariness toward Law grew deeper with each passing moment.
"To be honest, I can't say for sure whether this guess is correct." Law continued, shaking his head slightly, "After all, the things you said in the hotel were based on the premise that the butler had lost his hearing, so the accuracy of your self-reported abilities still holds some weight."
He paused, then added seriously, "But whether you have two monkeys or five, it doesn't matter anymore."
A surge of Nen rippled across the ground, flowing toward Saiyu's feet before suddenly leaping upward, aiming straight for his chin.
"Huh?"
Saiyu's reflexes were sharp, and his vigilance was high. The moment he noticed the emitted Nen current rushing toward his chin, he immediately raised a hand to block it.
The surge struck his palm, the force still strong enough to slam his own hand into his chin. The impact sent his head snapping back, as if he had taken a vicious uppercut.
"Fifty meters. You just happened to be standing at the edge of the danger zone."
Law chuckled, then without hesitation, set Killua down and activated [Instant], closing the distance between them in an instant.
His goal was clear… to seize Saiyu's heart while he was off-balance.
"You're just going to abandon that brat?!"
Saiyu roared, his Aura flaring violently. A monkey with enormous eyes materialized beside him and lunged at Law.
At almost the same time, the Listen Monkey, which had just returned after turning on the lights, dove straight for Killua, who had been left on the ground. It seemed intent on taking him hostage.
Law noticed the Listen Monkey's movement but didn't react. Instead, a shadowy figure darted out from the side.
The Listen Monkey missed its target as the black shadow snatched Killua away.
The conjured See Monkey was obliterated by a Nen bullet from Law. Saiyu, still unbalanced and now with Law right in front of him, channeled Nen into his palm and materialized the Nyoi-bo, swinging it in a wide arc.
The advantage of conjured weapons was their instant deployment… an unpredictable move in battle that often caught opponents off guard.
'Just one hit! That's all I need! This is my last chance!' Saiyu thought desperately. But his hopes were dashed.
Law dodged the strike effortlessly. Then, before Saiyu could regain his footing, Law's hand moved like a blade, severing all four of Saiyu's limbs in a flash. Then, with practiced ease, he plucked out Saiyu's heart before stepping back, not immediately delivering the killing blow.
There were still things he needed to ask before ending this.
Saiyu collapsed, his limbs scattered, his face ashen.
Law flicked a Nen bullet with his free hand, dispersing the Listen Monkey, then calmly squeezed the heart in his grip, "Whether your talkative nature was an act or not, I'll give you a chance to speak freely now."
With that, he tightened his grip.
Saiyu let out a bloodcurdling scream as indescribable agony erupted from his heart, searing through every nerve in his body.
"By the way, all that talking earlier was just to distract you. Now, it seems that you do have more than two Nen Beasts. Sometimes, words can be useful in a fight."
"Though, there is a saying…some people die because they talk too much."
