After some time waiting, the door was opened and the two had access inside the house. Sasha and Mike had been kept waiting for a while. While inside, Sasha kept wondering. She had contrary expectations from what she was singing. She could not believe that Mike could afford a luxurious lifestyle in the city and fail to upgrade his parents' lifestyle. They sat on a stool; the house lacked even a single chair, let alone a table.
Mike's mother was too excited to see her son. He concentrated fully on his son. He had moved closer to her son and kissed him. The conversation mostly revolved around being welcomed back. He had never returned home since he left for the city five years ago. Mike's father was still in the bedroom, sleeping. He was not bothered by the disruption to his sleep. Also, Mike's father was a drunkard and had arrived late the previous night, hence he needed more time to rest.
Mike's mother was careful not to look biased. He walked closer and hugged her warmly. She spread a mat on the floor and sat down. So it was time for the introduction, and Mike had to lead. After a short prayer pronounced by the mother, Mike opened his mouth for introduction purposes. "Sasha, meet my lovely mother. I normally call her my source of strength because of her crucial impact on my life. She is a very jovial lady who appreciates interpersonal differences." Mike introduced the mother.
Mike then looked at Sasha and smiled. Then he said, "With me here is Sasha, my lovely wife whom I really cherish." Mike's mother was very excited, having a daughter-in-law was not just something to take for granted. She would also have something to brag about when with her friends.
Mike's mother took the daughter-in-law and left for the kitchen to prepare breakfast. According to their society's way of doing things, the daughter-in-law was supposed to be with her mother-in-law in the kitchen. Mike's mother and Sasha became great friends, greatly bonded. They were chatting as they engaged in performing house chores. Their close relationship was a great threat to him. Mike knew very well that the mother had a loose mouth. Mike's father spoke boldly, demanding that Mike divorce the lady. The father claimed that a married woman who did not know how to cook was careful. The rest of the family members joined to mock and reinforce Mike's father's words. Sasha could not believe her eyes. She begged for a second chance, but it didn't sink into their ears. The helpless lady just turned into a crying baby, thinking that they might sympathize with her.
The family had lost confidence in her. How could she get their love again? She turned to her spouse for protection. Sasha regretted having gone there.
