Chapter 10 - Chapter 1

In an endless blank white space, a man could be seen floating aimlessly. The man had long blond hair and golden eyes.

He had a blank look on his face as he just stared at the vast white space.

"If I knew becoming immortal would be this boring, I'd have just let that bastard kill me before I got more powerful." The man spoke.

This man went by many names. The Heretic, The Golden Beast, King of Battle and War, God. But the name he took upon himself was Reinhardt.

He was born long ago as a weak slave. Through many hardships, battles and many other things, he became an immortal.

No, not like those other immortals who can still be killed through different means. No, he became a True Immortal. A being that can't be killed even by themselves.

Reinhardt has been floating in this white space for eons upon eons, at least that what he thinks. He didn't keep count.

"Hmm…why don't I create a game…that should do it." As Reinhardt says this, a black cube appeared in his hand. Inside of the cube a galaxy could be seen.

He lets go of cube and it expanded to the size of a small house. The galaxy also grew in size but still inside the cube.

Reinhardt's eyes glowed and in front of him, numerous orbs appeared. When one looked closer, the small orbs looked to be planets.

"This should do it."

The planets then floated into the cube and assimilated with the galaxy.

"Let's make it more interesting."

Saying this, his eyes glowed once more and 10 blank androgynous bodies appeared in front of him. In an instant they all had a form.

"Humans, they have the most potential yet they limit theirselves to being the weakest race but also the strongest.

Elves, a spirit and nature loving race. They also have lots of potential but not more than humans.

Beast-Kin, former humans, mutated with animal like features and if more pure, beast like features hence the name.

Goblins, the weakest race…let's spice things up a bit. As the game progresses the goblins become smarter and stronger but not too strong.

Demons, a cunning and sly race but also strong. Let's throw in some nice ones.

Orcs, strong. That's it

Angels, a peaceful race but not to be underestimated when their lives are threatened.

Dwarves, a race with the most development potential. If given time they may create something that could contend with all races if a war starts between them all.

Aqua-Kin, an aquatic race. They are nigh unbeatable when in water.

Dragons, the strongest race of them all."

Finished making all the species, Reinhardt, made them float into the cube and assimilated them into the galaxy.

"Mana, Aether, Battle Aura…let's add Chakra and Ki too."

A plethora of colorful energies gathered into a ball in his hand and he put it into the cube.

"Now all that's left is to let them develop on their planets and then the game can begin.

[Many Many Many Years Later]

[Unknown POV]

I stared up at the sky as a colossal golden eye stared down at us. It was like the eye stared into the very depths of our souls. It sent an instinctive fear into my very being.

I wanted to hide and never surface again but I couldn't even move a single centimeter from where I stood.

And even if I could hide, I felt that the eye would still be able to see me.

As I stared at the eye a strong breeze swept over the entire area and I'm pretty sure it went farther than that, but besides that a voice soon entered my mind.

{The Trial will soon begin. 5 of you will be pitted against other races across the galaxy. The winners will get a head start into a long game of winners and losers. Fortify your minds and your wills}

As the voice finished speaking, it was as if the world went silent. Not even my previous heavy breathing could be heard.

A few seconds went by and I finally got control of my body again. I dropped to my knees and grabbed my neck as it felt like I wasn't breathing.

I knew I was breathing but for some reason it felt like I wasn't. I don't how to explain it. A few more seconds go by and my vision went blank.

{Let the Trial commence}

In a wide expanse of different biomes of land, different race of beings appeared.

They all were confused as they appeared in front of each other before remembering what the talking eye said.

{Welcome}

As the voice spoke again, an Avatar that Reinhardt created appeared with a smile. The Avatar had the exact appearance of Reinhardt.

"Hello!!! I am the Fairy Avatar, Reinhardt. I will be your guide for the Battle Trial. You, the Players, will fight to the death during this trial and the winner or winners will be generously awarded by the Game Master." The Fairy said enthusiastically.

The Players look on with caution as the same feeling they felt from the talking eye was exuding from the Fairy.

Although, his smile made him look a bit harmless but the Players instincts and mind told them that he wasn't at all harmless.

"Why is it that we have to participate in this trial?"

It was a Player from the Dragon Race that gained confidence to speak up but with a bit of hesitation.

"You were made for it of course." The Fairy answered.

"Made for it?" The Dragon said in confusion.

He expected to receive an answer but it didn't come to pass.

"Alrighty, you players can start right now or get used to your new surroundings before fighting. It's all up to you but do remember, a timer is counting down at the moment. If one of you hasn't killed someone of a different race when that timer is finished, all of you will die."

The Fairy said the last part a bit darkly before disappearing into a golden light.

All of the Players looked at each other, observing their opponents but suddenly a scream rang out.

"Ahhhh!!!"

A woman's screen was heard and when the Players looked where it came from, they saw an Orc attacking the Elves, one being dead already.

This action set the other Players into battle, while some ran away.

The Goblins were the first to run away. One of them stayed and attacked a Dwarf. Catching the Dwarf off guard, the Goblin was able to pierce his neck with a small dagger before running away with the other four Goblins.

When the Dwarves seen their teammate get killed, they started chasing after the Goblins with anger.

*Boom*

An explosion went off and when looking over, one could see a dragon with flames coming out of its mouth.

"AHHHHHHHHH"

An Aqua-Kin and Human had been caught in the flames, reducing them to a black scorch mark on the ground.

The other humans seeing they stood no chance against the dragons ran off. The Aqua-Kin furious at the dragons tried to attack losing two more in the process leaving only two who eventually ran off.

The Elves and Orcs were battling while this occurred. The Elves held the advantage in speed and the Orcs in strength and durability.

Because of this, The Elves couldn't be harmed by the Orcs and it was vice versa for the Elves harming the orcs.

During the slight stalemate, an Elf and Orc had died. One of the Elves slipped up getting too confident in his speed and was grabbed by the Orc.

The Orc used his strength to pull the arm of the Elf off having him scream in pain before biting his head off.

An Elf had found a weak spot of the Orc she was fighting, which was the eye and with her long dagger stabbed him through it, killing him in an instant.

The battle was about to keep going but seeing the imminent danger in its way towards them which was the Dragons, the remaining Elves and Orcs retreated before running into different directions.

The Beast-Kin who were the only ones with all five members along matching the Dragons in number had swiftly run away while everything was happening.

"Huhuhu, the Dragons are dominating because of their firepower, strength, and durability. Although losing one, Orcs come in second when it comes to strength and durability.

Elves with their speed are almost untouchable but that cockiness and overconfidence led to them losing one.

The rest are a bit lackluster though…well I guess I should introduce their power systems." Reinhardt spoke in a joyous tone.

*Snap*

*Snap*

When the Trial Participants found places to settle down, they all heard a resounding snap. It echoed for a bit before the world lit in a plethora of colors.

[Human POV]

My name is Sanders. I am a regular farmer who takes care of his land and family. One day while out working in the fields taking care of crops, the Golden Eye appeared.

It was breath taking…quite literally. After it appeared a pressure crashed into my body making me unable to move or breathe.

The eye itself was beautiful. It was like a golden sky with numerous white clouds flowing in them. But what it brought upon me and I'm sure everyone else wasn't in the least, beautiful.

A voice came shortly after it appeared, telling of a game. When it finished speaking, the pressure disappeared and I dropped to my knees as I was able to breathe again.

Even though I hadn't caught my breath all the way, I worried for my family and when my eyes drifted to where they resided I saw my wife and kids running towards me with fear stricken faces.

I tried to move but I couldn't and just as my wife arrived in front of me and tried reaching for me, I appeared in an unfamiliar place.

Along with me were other people who had the same confused expressions, but also other strange beings appeared.

The then Fairy Avatar appeared

I don't know exactly where we were but it was something akin to a forest from my world. After the initial battle where we lost one of our member, me and the other three members who appeared with me had ran in a random direction and ended up here.

"It seems we've gotten far enough from those creatures." The other man of the group spoke calmly, a bit out of breath from running.

The group consisted of two men and women, including me. The other member was also a man or rather young boy. He had looked to be between the age of 15 to 18.

"Shall we introduce ourselves since we most likely will be trying to survive together. I'm Lucas, no family name. I come from a village of hunters." The now named Lucas said offering a handshake to me.

"Names Sanders, also no last name. I am a farmer."

I accept the handshake and look towards the women of the group. The one who stood out was the stoic looking woman without an expression on her face.

She seemed almost used to these kind of situations, at least that's only what I took from first impressions. The other one was bawling her eyes out with terror all over her face.

Noticing our looks after me and Lucas introduced ourselves, she cleared her throat before speaking.

"Aria Lucio of House Lucio. First daughter of king and queen Lucio." She spoke.

"A Noble!? Even a noble was swept up in this madness and not just any Noble, but a Royal one."

Lucas was shocked to say the least. It wasn't only him though, I shared his shock.

'The powerful being who brought us here even targeted the noble folk, but that isn't really shocking now that I think about it, with all the foreign beings and monsters I've never seen nor heard of before.' These were my thoughts and it seems the noble or Aria had the same thoughts.

"That shouldn't be your concern right now with all those other beings, especially the fire breathing ones also being here." Aria said with a weird expression.

"True…"

All of our eyes drifted towards the still crying woman but just as we did a loud snap echoed throughout this place and everything lit up in a plethora of colors.

As that happened, I felt something change within my body. I felt rejuvenated and the strain from the years of farming disappear.

I looked around and the others had similar reactions to mine and their bodies lit up. Lucas lit up in a blue like color, while Aria had a purple like flame surrounding her being.

The crying girl had a golden glow around her and when looking at my hands, there was a red glow.

"What the hell is happening to us!" Lucas exclaimed.

*Poof*

"Heya folks!!!"

The Fairy Avatar had appeared once again in a joyous mood.

"Congratulations!!! You've all awakened your Fundamental Energy. The Game Master has granted you all access to the Fundamental Energies that reside in this world and your own."

"There are five of these Fundamental Energies. Mana, Aether, Battle Aura, Chakra, and Ki. Along with these energies, a status has come with it."

*Snap*

When the Fairy snapped its fingers, something popped up in my vision. It a rectangular blue slab of sorts.

I tried to touch it with my hand but it went straight through.

'It's intangible.' I thought as I read what was on it.

{Status

Name: Sanders

Occupation: Farmer

Fundamental Energy: Mana, Battle Aura

Skills: None}

"Your Status showcases your names, occupation, Fundamental Energy, and skills. You have no skills because those are only acquired by using your Fundamental Energy."

"What if we have more than one of these Fundamental Energies?" I asked after seeing my status.

The Fairy looked at with its ever so bright smile and replied.

"Lucky you. It just means you have talent for them." It replied.

"Lastly, Fundamental Energies all have things they are based on. Mana and Chakra are Elemental. Battle Aura and Ki are more physical. Aether on the other hand, well…let's just say it's power knows no bounds so if you have it…congrats to you!!!"

The Fairy then disappeared and we all stood in silence. The crying woman even stopped crying which was honestly a relief.

"It seems we've just gotten more of a chance at surviving. Although…I'm sure we aren't the only ones who were granted these benefits." Aria spoke.

"Since the Fairy spoke about the Energies being based off of something we all should think about what we can do with the Energies we were granted. If you all don't mind sharing which of the five you were granted I wouldn't mind sharing mine." She continued.

She looked at all of us before getting nods from me and Lucas. The crying women still hadn't spoken, she seemed to be in shock or something.

"Mine is Chakra."

Lucas was the first to share and I spoke soon after.

"Mana and Battle Aura."

"I figured you had more than one when you asked the question to the Fairy." Lucas responded and I just nodded.

"Excuse me miss, would you mind sharing with us your name and Fundamental Energy." I asked the used to be crying woman.

"M-Marcia…mana and ki." Her voice was quiet. Coupled with all the crying she did earlier it was as if she were whispering but somehow we all heard.

We all nodded before Aria shared what her Fundamental Energy was.

"Aether."

We all looked in shocked when hearing this, even the now named Marcia. I'm sure none of us expected this seeing as we thought it would be something rare to have.

After all, the way the Fairy spoke of Aether would mean she was, in a sense, the strongest of our group.

'Seems the Noble had luck on her side.' I said while calming down from the initial surprise.

"Wow…who would've expected that." Lucas said with a light laugh.

"It doesn't matter. Now that we all know each other's Energies, it's time to figure out what we can do with them." Aria spoke.

We all nodded in agreement and went straight into practice.
