Peter stood outside Mike's house, nervously smoothing out his clothes, even though he had already adjusted them eleven times on the way over.

"Phew!"

Peter took a deep breath and raised his hand to knock.

But just as his fingers were about to make contact with the door, he jerked his hand back as if he had been electrocuted.

Although he had been trying hard to pump himself up and mentally prepare for this moment, now that he was actually here, he couldn't control his fear. He remembered what his Aunt May had told him.

Slapping his own cheeks lightly, Peter tidied his hair one more time before whispering cautiously, "Peter! Come on! You can do this! You definitely won't die!"

Although he said the words, his brain couldn't help but conjure images of the moment the door opened: two beams of red heat vision shooting at him, or a mass of metal piercing him with a thousand holes, or perhaps a sneering bald man turning him into an idiot—or even a child shrinking him down to the size of an ant and crushing him into dust with a casual twist of a heel.

It made him shudder!

The more Peter thought about it, the more scared he became. Looking at the door in front of him, he felt as if the whole world was sneering at him, urging him to abandon this visit, urging him to give up on Gwen.

"No! Impossible!"

Peter clenched his fist and let out a low growl.

Asking him to give up on Gwen was worse than asking him to die!

Thinking of this, Peter finally stopped hesitating and knocked on the door.

At the exact moment his knuckles rapped against the wood, inside the living room, Mike, Clark, Eric, Charles, and Little Lamb—who was hanging off Clark's neck acting spoiled—all turned their heads in unison to look at the entrance.

In that instant, a cold glint seemed to flash through all five pairs of eyes.

"Heh! He's here!"

Mike sneered, gently lowering his crossed legs. "I'll go open the door."

"No, let me get it," Clark smiled faintly.

"I'll go!" Eric said, standing up.

Charles looked at the two of them and waved his hand dismissively. "Oh, you guys shouldn't go. Look at you; you look like you're ready to eat someone alive."

He stood up with a grin, but in the next second, a large hand pressed down on his bald head, shoving him back onto the sofa.

"Sit your ass down! I said I'm going!"

Eric strode forward, heading toward the door.

Charles gave a light snort, and his psychic power quietly emerged, freezing Eric in place.

Charles stood up leisurely, dusted off his lapel, and muttered, "Without your telepathy-blocking helmet, what are you being so arrogant for?"

Eric: (╬ ̄皿 ̄)

"Ha!"

Mike sighed deeply. "While you two are talking nonsense, Clark is already at the door."

The two froze: "!"

Watching their antics, Little Lamb couldn't help but laugh. "Hahaha, you guys are so stupid!"

As soon as the words fell, and before receiving a warning glare from the two brothers, the child quietly vanished from the spot.

Charles and Eric curled their lips in annoyance. Walking toward the kitchen, they shouted, "Jean! Hela! We're coming to help!"

Hearing their shouts, Mike's expression turned odd.

Who would have thought that the Goddess of Death and the Phoenix Force were currently helping out in his kitchen?

Meanwhile, Clark had already arrived at the door. In fact, on his way there, he had used his super speed without leaving a trace.

Clark stood at the door, his eyes flickering slightly as he looked through the wood to see Peter outside. Seeing the worry written all over Peter's face, Clark smiled slightly and opened the door.

The next second, Peter stood there, stiff as a stretched rubber band.

"M-Mr. Clark!"

Peter greeted him in a small voice, his heart incredibly tense.

My God, the first one I have to face is Superman?

Peter swallowed nervously.

Clark smiled at Peter and said, "No need to be nervous."

Hearing this, Peter was stunned, and the tension in his heart eased slightly.

Hearing those words, he felt a sense of...

"The nervousness comes later."

Help!

Peter's heart suddenly stopped for a split second, and then began to beat wildly like a revving motor.

"Come in."

Clark stepped aside to clear the doorway. As Peter walked past Clark, he couldn't help but look up at him.

Clark was smiling, but Peter swore he momentarily saw two flickering red dots in his eyes.

He couldn't help but shudder. Peter tried to cheer himself up again, and when he saw Gwen, he felt as if the entire world had lit up.

Spring blossoms blooming, facing the ocean...

Peter felt a warmth spread through his whole body, and a smile unconsciously floated onto his face.

Gwen looked at Peter and suddenly gave a light cough.

Peter immediately asked nervously, "What's wrong? Are you not feeling well somewhere?"

Gwen was exasperated. She gave Peter a meaningful look, signaling him to pay attention to what was behind him.

Peter blinked. Suddenly, he felt a bone-chilling cold radiating from his back, and his face instantly turned pale.

He struggled to control his body as he slowly turned around, only to see five people standing there with their arms crossed, smiling at him.

Mike Kent, Clark Kent, Eric Kent, Charles Kent, and Lamb Kent.

He silently recited the five names in his heart, and with each name that drifted by, his heart grew a degree colder.

"He looked so silly when he laughed just now!"

Little Lamb curled a lip, unable to resist muttering aloud.

Peter: "..."

"Lamb! Don't speak the truth out loud!"

Charles looked at Little Lamb reproachfully, yet used his abilities to give the child thirty-two 'likes' inside their mind.

Eric looked at Peter and suddenly revealed a cold sneer. "Kid, you know Gwen is my only sister, right?"

Peter nodded nervously.

"Heh!" Eric patted Peter on the shoulder and pointed at Clark and the other two. "If I had to choose between taking them out and losing my sister, I wouldn't hesitate to have them taken out!"

"Hmm?"

The corners of Clark and the others' mouths twitched.

Hearing this, Peter stammered with a nervous expression, "I-I will work hard to take them out."

"Hmm?"

Mike and the other three instantly locked their gazes onto Peter.

Peter: "!"

It's over. He seemed to have said the wrong thing.

In that instant, Peter felt the Reaper's scythe resting against his neck.

Fortunately, he wasn't alone.

He still had Gwen.

"That's enough from you guys!"

Gwen looked at them speechlessly. "Stop making Peter nervous! Dad, you should go cook! Clark, Sister-in-law asked you to buy fruit. Eric, Charles, your girlfriends want you to go help. Little Lamb..."

Gwen glared at Little Lamb. "You go play over there!"

Little Lamb pointed at Gwen. "You're going too far! You're sending me away without even finding an excuse?"

Gwen: "Hmm?"

"I'm going!" Little Lamb huffed angrily. "There is plenty of time in the future!"

Eric and Charles left, sighing and shaking their heads.

A sister grown is a sister flown...

Clark smiled slightly and turned to leave, a hint of red light faintly visible in his eyes.

Gwen looked at Mike, who was still standing there, and pointed toward the kitchen.

Mike said ominously, "Cooking! I'm going to cook! Heh heh!"

Hearing this tone, Peter felt a chill run through his heart.

The food... there wouldn't be anything wrong with it, right?

A short while later...

A table full of good food, complete with color, aroma, and taste.

A table full of the Kent family, not a single one of them a weakling.

Only a trembling Peter Parker sat gingerly at the table, carefully looking at everyone.

Nervousness, worry, fear...

Various emotions tangled in Peter's mind, making him feel as though his spirit was in a trance.

"Peter, Peter."

Gwen gently patted Peter's arm.

"Huh? Yeah!"

Peter tried his best to focus.

"Introduce yourself," Mike said flatly.

Although most of the people here knew Peter, there were still some who didn't, such as... Hela.

Peter nodded nervously and plastered on a slightly stiff smile. "I-I'm Peter, Peter Parker. Welcome... welcome everyone to my home."

"Hmm?"

The Kent family stared at Peter in unison.

Gwen slapped her forehead, her expression one of utter helplessness.

He's so silly it's cute.

Gwen laughed softly, patted Peter gently, and whispered in his ear, "Don't be nervous, they won't do anything to you."

"Oh!" Peter responded.

Watching their small interactions, Mike let out a light snort.

Dissatisfaction...

Of course, this could also be interpreted as jealousy.

Peter hurriedly spoke again, correcting himself, "Welcome everyone to our home! ...Wait, welcome to your home!"

"Pfft!"

Raven couldn't help but laugh out loud.

The corners of Mike and the others' mouths twitched slightly.

Jean smiled faintly and said to Peter, "Don't be nervous, there's nothing to be afraid of. The people here are all very nice."

This little guy had been in a state of high tension from the moment he walked in the door, like a taut rubber band.

Very nice?

Are you sure?

Peter glanced cautiously at Mike and the four brothers. Seeing them expressionless, his heart tightened.

Hela smiled at Peter. "Child, to be honest, if this is all the courage you have, you aren't worthy of our Gwen."

Our Gwen?

Eric felt delighted, as sweet as if he had eaten honey. Looking at Hela, his eyes seemed ready to bubble over with pink hearts.

"Hey!"

Suddenly, Charles's voice rang out in his mind.

Eric raised an eyebrow. Just as he was about to say something, Charles chuckled softly. "You need to watch your health."

"What?"

"You don't really think we didn't notice your legs trembling just from walking, do you?"

Hearing this, Eric exclaimed internally, "Impossible! Absolutely impossible!"

He was no weak-legged shrimp!

Charles curled his lip. "Whether it's possible or not, just be careful. After all... the other party is an Asgardian."

Eric's old face blushed red. Just as he was about to refute, he suddenly realized that Mike and Clark were looking at him with strange expressions.

Eric gave a light cough and turned his head away guiltily.

"You guys?"

Raven looked at the father and three sons with confusion.

Little Lamb's eyes flickered, and the child exclaimed, "They said... Mmph!"

Eric clamped a hand over Little Lamb's mouth.

Little Lamb: (个_个)

"Little kid, don't talk nonsense, ha!"

Eric was smiling, but his eyes were full of threatening intent.

Little Lamb: o(╥﹏╥)o

I'm just a child, why treat me like this?

Raven: "?"

Hope looked at their expressions, her gaze cycling between Hela and Eric, and a look of contemplation flashed in her eyes.

"Alright, stop bullying the child."

Seeing that Mike and the others were still looking at Peter with unkind eyes, Raven spoke helplessly, then turned to Peter. "Don't be afraid. They just care too much about Gwen."

She paused, then looked at Mike and raised an eyebrow. "Right, Mike?"

She gave Mike a meaningful look.

Don't go too far; you've scared the child half to death.

She understood Peter quite well; he was a sensible, polite, and responsible boy.

If Gwen's first love was Peter, Raven found that quite acceptable.

It was certainly much better than some delinquent teenager.

She and Mike had already discussed this point.

Although Mike was somewhat unhappy about it, he had expressed his agreement.

She was simply reminding Mike now not to forget last night's conversation.

Mike sighed in his heart and said, "Peter."

"Yes, Mr. Kent!"

Peter shuddered and hurriedly sat up straight.

Mike used the gentlest voice possible. "Don't be nervous. That was just a small test for you just now."

A small test?

Peter breathed a sigh of relief.

Did that mean he had passed?

"Don't celebrate too early. If you ever dare to bully Gwen in the future... Humph!"

Mike sneered, and everyone at the dinner table looked at Peter.

Instantly, the air seemed to solidify.

Peter hurriedly said, "I won't! I won't bully Gwen."

Besides, he couldn't beat her anyway!
