Mia received a call from Ethan.
Under the pretense of going out to buy something, Mia went alone to the hotel Ethan had mentioned.
In the hotel corridor, Mia first saw Ethan. "Mia, your parents are inside," Ethan said gently to her.
She had already seen the familiar figure standing by the floor-to-ceiling window in the room, and a sour feeling welled up in her nose.
"Mia..."
Her mother saw Mia and walked out of the room.
"Mom..." Mia's throat choked up instantly.
Relieved that Mia was safe, her mother sighed and gently took Mia's hand. "My darling daughter, Mom..." She wanted to explain about Mia's father, but didn't know how to begin.
Mia's clear eyes were already covered with a thin mist. "Dad—" She stared blankly at the strong figure by the window.
"Go inside quickly..." Her mother said kindly to Mia.
Mia nodded and slowly walked into the room.
Her father heard the footsteps and turned around, looking spirited.
