Chapter 292 - Maximus’ Last Resort! The Destruction of Attilan!

'Ye Li really has presence... such masculine decisiveness....'

As Medusa silently compared the two men in her heart,

Black Bolt suddenly stirred from his daze, awakened by her voice—

Yes...

Even if he killed his brother, he still had family left—not gone entirely....

Comforting himself with this thought, Blackagar clenched his teeth, glaring viciously at Maximus!

"You... you really mean to kill me?!"

Seeing his brother's eyes turn fierce, Maximus stumbled back several steps, disbelief written all over his face.

"Huuu—"

Black Bolt inhaled deeply, lips parting... clearly preparing to speak.

"No! No! Blackagar, you can't kill me!"

Maximus, terrified by that gesture, nearly collapsed on the spot.

He jabbed a finger upward, shouting desperately:

"I've entered the override codes into the shield control! One flick of my finger and the city's barrier will collapse! All of Attilan will die with me!!"

"No! You mustn't!"

A figure rushed forward from afar.

It was the seer-inhuman, Borgona.

And behind him came several Genetic Council members, led by their chairman, Tabor.

"Borgona? Tabor?"

Maximus froze, realizing these people had surrounded him—not his brother.

The truth dawned on him: 'They've turned against me?!'

He glared at the circle of faces, teeth clenched in rage.

"So... you were plotting betrayal all along!"

Tabor's brows knitted.

"Maximus, you've ruled with cruelty, sending kin after kin to die on Earth. We've watched long enough!"

"Heh..."

Maximus laughed coldly.

"Spare me your noble words. You're just afraid of my brother—afraid of his power!"

"My father was one of those you sent to Earth. He never returned!" Borgona shouted bitterly.

"He's dead... I regret that too, Borgona..."

Maximus softened his gaze toward the young prophet he once favored.

"But tell me—is that why you concealed some of the visions? Why you hid the fragments showing my brother attacking me?"

"No..."

Borgona shook his head earnestly.

"My ability has flaws—I can only see incomplete, unstable fragments....."

Then he pressed forward, trembling.

"Tell me! How did my father really die?"

"How?"

Maximus smirked, shifting his eyes to Black Bolt.

"Of course—our great King Blackagar killed him."

"It was you?!"

Borgona's eyes widened, instantly filling with hatred as he glared at Black Bolt.

"Hey, calm down!"

Princess Crystal hurried to explain.

"Black Bolt acted in self-defense! Justice has a name—if you must blame someone, blame Maximus! He's the one who sent your father to die!"

"I don't care! You're all murderers!"

The usually timid youth snapped, roaring out his grief and fury!

"Heheheh... look, Blackagar. Is this the world you wanted?"

Maximus sneered, delighting in the chaos and division.

"Maximus, enough. You're under arrest. Prepare for judgment."

Tabor cut him off, unwilling to hear more of his madness.

He waved his hand, ordering his men to shackle the so-called Mad King.

"Arrest me? HAHAHAHAHA!!"

Maximus threw back his head in wild laughter.

His finger pressed down on the trigger command, howling:

"Then die with me—all of you!!"

In that instant, the world shifted.

Wen~!!————!!!

The city's protective barrier shrieked with violent resonance!

The false sky flickered, revealing beyond it the dark lunar surface and the endless void of space!

Peng~!!

A deafening crack ripped through the heavens.

The shield shattered and vanished entirely!

Attilan's air was ripped away in an instant.

Pressure collapsed in milliseconds.

Cosmic radiation, freezing vacuum, deathly cold— all the perils of open space descended at once.

"AAAHHHHHHHH!!!"

The screams began—then multiplied endlessly.

One thousand four hundred Inhumans shriveled to husks before anyone could resist.

Bodies froze into corpses in seconds.

"You... urk!"

Even Tabor and the councilors perished, alongside Maximus himself, who died laughing, shredded into cosmic debris....

Only Black Bolt, his body far stronger than any mortal's, survived the vacuum with little harm.

But his eyes went blank, staring at Attilan's ruins, hollow and lost—as if everything he had was gone....

Elsewhere.

The two sisters felt despair crush their hearts the moment the shield failed.

Crystal: 'Is this the end...? Bad man... where are you...?'

Medusa: 'So this is it... Just when I finally met the right one, finally tasted true joy....'

Just as their thoughts were about to go blank.

Suddenly, two hands reached out and encircled each of the sisters' slender waists… tsk.
