Chapter 58 - I'm sorry but please die for the greater good.

While Gildarts and Lilith were having their small conversation, Akira, who slipped away at some point, came to the basement of this rundown hotel.

"Well, this really does make me nostalgic," Akira muttered as he skillfully stepped to the side to evade the big cobweb.

In his days as an archaeologist, he had traveled to many gloomy places like this. Especially in Egypt. The pyramids there were quite a sight to see.

"Now, where is that demonic array placed? " he muttered as he took out a small compass from his pocket.

This is a magic item he made. This compass could guide anyone towards the nearest mana vein where magical arrays are mostly placed.

"Thankfully, I made some useful gadgets, or else this mission may have become more difficult. As expected of me, genius knows no bounds, " Akira said as he shamelessly praised himself.

If Laxus and Sera were to hear his shameless words, they would first beat him and then nod in agreement with his words. Yes, even they had to acknowledge Akira's creativity when creating magic tools.

This guy sure has some amazing ideas. For example, the sleeping gas that Macao and Wakaba used. This gas was made so a smoke magic user like Wakaba could manipulate it completely and fill the desired area in a very small time.

And this gas could also be stored in a special bottle, so Wakaba wouldn't need to smoke every time he uses magic. Although Akira hasn't heard of any case of lung cancer in this world, it isn't bad to be too careful.

After a few minutes, Akira came across a door that had a locking formation inscribed on it.

" Bingo, " Akira said as he looked at the compass, which had its pointer pointing straight towards the door.

"Okay then, let's see what this demoness is hiding, " Akira said as he placed his hand on the door. Then he used his unique skill for its intended purpose.

After a few seconds, Akira took back his hand and spoke, " I see this is quite interesting. "

From what he heard, this demoness is very cunning. She first mind-controlled the villagers and then made this place her base. Then she made a few of these mind-controlled villagers become members of the council and a part of the dark guild.

She then used her years of knowledge and taught these people and made them into excellent wizards. After that, she ordered them to make a name in their respective fields and gather enough influence.

While these guys did this, she set up things here by herself. She first set up a small dummy demonic magic circle for the dark guild to guard. This is the same magic circle she herself tipped to the Magic Council.

She knew that no secret could be hidden forever, so she devised a plan for the magic council to find a different demonic cult and destroy them. After they are done with it, the Magic Council would naturally not care about this place again, as they are busy searching for the remnants. Like they say, the safest place may be the most dangerous place.

And like she expected, the Magic Council, after a week of searching, left. Interestingly, the officers who were in charge of this place were actually from this village, meaning one of her pawns.

And with the magic council out of her radar, the demoness finaly made her move.

Akira had to admit the demoness was very cunning. She perfectly controlled many parties and manipulated them like her puppets. Akira dreaded the consequences if she were ever to join Tartaros. After all, unlike the demons there, this one understood humans and knew not to look down on them too much.

So the chaos this one may cause is far greater than even what any of them could do. Thankfully, that grim future may never happen since what lies on the other side of this door is the demoness's biggest weakness.

"Enchantment: Display, " Akira chanted as he used enchantment magic on the door to separate the locking formations.

A familiar dark magic circle appeared in Akira's hand as it began to rotate madly. Simultaneously, another magic circle that was pink in colour began to appear on the door. This is the locking formation that was placed on this door and the walls.

This formation made it so that no one other than the caster could enter this room. Interestingly, the formation was quite advanced. Even Akira, who had read all of Irene's magical knowledge, had to admit that even for him, this locking formation is very complex.

That demoness is a very knowledgeable formation master who might even be considered the best in the whole Ishgar continent. Even if Makarov came here, he may not be able to solve this formation.

Unfortunately, she met him, the biggest cheater in this world.

Placing his other hand on the door, Akira once again used his unique skill. This is the new application he learned recently. Using his unique skill, he began to explore the secrets of this locking formation, and using his enchantment magic, he began to change the authority and transfer the control from the demoness to him.

"Enchantment: Override, " Akira said with a grin as a clicking sound was heard. Soon the door opened, revealing an even more gloomy room that was lit by a complex demonic magic circle that glowed ominously.

At the same time, when Akira opened the door, Lilith, who was sitting on the throne, suddenly stood up in shock. Just now, she felt someone break into her secret room that was in the basement.

The next second, her shock turned into anger and a little bit of fear.

She knew that a person who could disable her locking formation is no easy person. After all, she had full confidence in her skills, which is why even when Gildarts was in front of her, she didn't bother to escape.

Like in the basement, this whole room is filled with various types of formations. This is why she was not very panicked about Gildart's appearance. After all, this guy is already inside her domain and could be taken down immediately.

Originally, she wanted to have some small talk with him and find out how her plan went wrong and why he was here in this village in the first place.

But she has no time to waste on such things. She has to go to the basement immediately and stop whoever the other intruder is.

" YOU STAY HERE. I'll deal with you later." Saying this, Lilith activated her formations. The room lit up, and Gildarts was suddenly constrained by some chains that came from the ground.

She didn't kill him since she decided to use him as a backup in case the worst-case scenario happened.

Unfortunately, she underestimated her luck, as even the person who broke into the secret room, AKA Akira, had to wave the white flag if he got seriously pissed off like now.

Before Lilith could take a step forward, she heard Gildfart's cold voice.

"Sorry, but I think you will be keeping me company for a while, CRUSH. "

A dense white magical aura burst out of Gildarts' body as it disintegrated the chains in an instant.

" Impossi… " "CRUSH." Before Lilith could exclaim in surprise, Gildarts threw a punch imbued with his magic towards her.
