Chapter 1 - Authors note

Every parent thinks he has the most beautiful baby in the world.

Evolution, it seems, has molded our brains so that if you stare at your own baby's face day after day after day, it starts to look beautiful.

When other people's children have food clotted on their faces, it looks disgusting; with your own kid, it's somehow endearing.

I don't own those words but still they apply to me.

After looking at the manuscript of Beyond the castle walls for a long time it has started to look beautiful to me.

And so I thought that maybe others would like to read my work too.

I decided to give it a try but lost focus midway.

That was because I was not receiving the feedback I had imagined.

For all that mattered may be no one was even reading my story.

I tried following the advice of great authors about writing for yourself rather than the readers but that too was impractical.

So over the years I've been with many accounts trying my hand at different genres following popular trends and recently I realized that I have been loosing myself.

I've forgotten what my passions used to be. I no longer recognize myself.

I happened to recall a great quote that said ' tossing a coin helps you make a decision for you not that it chooses for you but because at the moment the coin is in the air you get to know what your heart is really hoping for '

I took the coin and flipped it.

When it landed I didn't bother seeing which side it had landed and I immediately threw it in the bin.

I had made my decision.

At the moment the coin was in the air my heart had settled for this account josieaeshma.

And I said to myself that I really need to explore the idea that made me open this account in the first place.

Screw the popular trends.

Screw the editors.

Screw the collections.

I'll make sure I finish this book even if no one reads my story.

And if no one likes it then I'll keep it and read it to my kids as a bedtime story.

To you who has read this far I have only one request for you.

If you have any thoughts about how I can make my story better please leave them behind.

It'll mean the world for me and I'll love you forever.

Your honest words mean so much to me than all the gifts in the webnovel world.

And yeah... I guess that's all.

Stay safe my lovely reader.

Stay dangerous and toxic.

I'm out.

Long live the clan!!!!
