Chapter 4 - Chapter 4: Joining the Familia~~

Fron was dumbfounded as he stared stiffly at the red-haired goddess standing before him.

"Tsk tsk tsk, a human, huh? And blonde with golden eyes. So handsome, and with a vibe I've never seen before. Although I don't have the ability to see into souls like that lovestruck goddess, well… I've decided. You're already one of my Familia's children!"

Hey hey hey, is it really okay to decide something so important on your own like that?

Ignoring the completely confused golden-haired youth, the goddess named Loki pulled the already flustered Fron straight back to the "Twilight Manor."

As the two passed through the red-brick courtyard, the remaining Familia members all cast curious glances at Fron.

--------------------------------------------

"Kids, our Familia is about to welcome a new member!"

"Uuuuuuuuwaaaaaaaaah!"

A group of Familia members suddenly popped out from who knows what corners and surrounded Loki and the other two in the blink of an eye, each one staring at him like a curious baby.

Fron, who had never experienced anything like this in either of his lives, felt his hair stand on end from being the center of attention. The normally quiet young man now wore an awkward and slightly nervous expression, far from the calm demeanor he had in the tavern.

"Alright, alright! Let's wait until after the ceremony to give him a proper welcome!"

"Hahaha, Lord God is right. I'll go notify the kitchen then!"

"OK! We're having a feast tonight—time to drink up!!!"

"Oh yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah!"

"..." You're just looking for an excuse to party, aren't you?

Fron suddenly realized the truth.

By the time he could think again, he had already followed Loki into her divine chamber, without even realizing how they got there.

So… so this is a god? Their actions can't be judged by mortal reasoning at all.

"Alright, take off your shirt. We're starting."

There was no point in hesitating now. Fron took off his cloak and shirt without a second thought, turning his back to his future deity.

"Once the ceremony is complete, you'll be a member of our Familia, meaning you'll be family. You understand what that means, right?"

A contract is sacred, even to a god.

No one can break a contract once it's made, because it is absolute.

Having been in this world for a while, Fron fully understood that.

"Yes, I'm willing to become your family."

Loki opened her divine red eyes—matching her crimson hair—and looked into Fron before smiling.

"Then, I'll begin the ceremony."

Loki pricked her finger with a needle and used her divine blood to bestow her blessing on Fron's back.

"Speaking of blessings, you know the basics, right?"

Fron answered honestly:

"Yeah, I heard a lot on the way to Orario. I only know that stats range from I0 to S999, and if one of them exceeds D500, you can level up."

While writing divine letters, Loki explained:

"The essence of a 'God's Blessing' or 'Falna' is just a catalyst. A catalyst to bring out the potential of children from the lower world."

"And the quantified values produced by systemizing that blessing—those are called abilities."

"They include basic stats, development abilities, magic, and skills. The level indicates overall power."

"These values are something we gods have verified and analyzed over the past thousand years since descending, but the potential of the children below is something even we can't predict. That's the unknown we gods seek! In other words, all kinds of strange magic and skills can appear."

Fron mused:

"So the blessing is a key? A key to unlock the body's infinite potential."

Loki squinted and tilted her head:

"Nicely put. The children of the lower world have something abstract called a 'vessel,' and proficiency is just the water filling it."

"Once the vessel is full, it means they've reached the point where they must evolve."

"As for how to evolve that vessel—well, that's still a long way off for you. Even Ais in our Familia took a whole year!"

Fron nodded, showing he understood.

"I see. So raising proficiency is a long-term grind. I get it now."

He was mentally planning how to grow stronger in the future, but suddenly noticed that his god had been quiet for a while, as if she'd vanished into thin air—strangely so.

He turned around in confusion and saw Loki staring at him in silence like she had seen a ghost. Her normally squinted eyes were wide open like a clown's, which looked downright ridiculous.

"?"

Fron tilted his head, blankly forming a question mark.

"Hey, Fron. Let me ask you… is this really your first time receiving a blessing?"

The bewildered young man opened his mouth, just about to say something, but Loki cut him off.

"I can't believe I asked such a stupid question. This is ridiculous."

After all, Fron's back had been completely clean before Loki gave him her blessing. In other words, this truly was his first time.

"Tsk tsk tsk, incredible, incredible—this kid is something else. When Finn got his first blessing, he had one magic and two skills. Riveria had nine magics and two skills. But you…"

Fron finally understood the reason behind his main god's complicated expression.

"Alright, I've translated your ability stats into the common tongue, take a look yourself. Oh, and I've already locked your stats, but there are things like unlocking potions, so never let anyone see your back, understand?"

Naturally, he wouldn't do something as stupid as leaking his own information.

Then he solemnly replied:

"Understood."

As he spoke, Loki had already translated the ability stats into the common language and handed him the paper.

Under Loki's gleeful and curved smile, Fron lowered his head to read.

With this starting panel, no wonder even Loki was momentarily stunned. Even knowing his own background, Fron himself was quite shocked.

That's right, as a sneaky outsider, Fron had brought a cheat with him when he transmigrated.

The setting: "Increase the possibilities related to magic."

Fron had a deep yearning for magic in fantasy worlds, and triggered this possibility — he learned his first magic.

The desire to read about magical knowledge became the skill 『Reader』.

Wanting to make all magic knowledge his own gave birth to 『Scholar』.

As someone who aimed to become the strongest magician and mage, he didn't need weaknesses — his obsession with being a hexagonal mage formed 『Infinite Super Magic』.

This was his confidence.

When the divine blessing acted as a catalyst to open the door named "possibility," Fron's potential burst forth completely.

Looking at the grinning blond youth, Loki couldn't help but click her tongue.

"This is gonna cause big trouble. If the kids come back from their expedition and find out about your skills, they'll flip out!"

Imagining that scenario in his head, Fron quickly begged for mercy:

"Um, Loki, as a newcomer, I should stay low-key, and I'm still so weak — I don't really want any attention for now…"

Looking at the awkwardly smiling Fron, the goddess squinted her divine eyes. Even he could tell from the curve of her lips that the number one troublemaker in the heavens was cooking up some mischief.

"Hehehe, well said. This Orario isn't exactly peaceful, there's always some trash or scumbag god trying to stir up trouble."

The goddess let out a sly laugh and slapped Fron's shoulder hard.

As expected, when gods who had lived for who-knows-how-many ages schemed, it was not something the kids down here could handle.

Then, Fron smiled meaningfully along with her.
