"Three minutes min."
---------------------------------
"Three minutes, I'll finish you within three minutes."
Raising three fingers, Fron tilted his head, narrowed his eyes slightly, and smiled faintly.
That posture looked as if he were gazing at a particularly pleasing toy.
If an ordinary adventurer were to witness such a scene, they would no doubt be stunned, even questioning reality itself.
Sensing the enemy's disdain, the highly intelligent Goliath let out an enraged roar!
"Psshh"
A black beam cut straight through space, and Fron's figure appeared upon the shattered Wall of Sighs.
The enemy, who had just been roaring, suddenly had its lower jaw completely severed!
The sound stopped abruptly.
Using the wall as a foothold, Fron stood at an angle, staff in hand, glaring down at his foe.
"Didn't I tell you to shut your mouth already!"
His brow twitched, and his tone erupted like a volcano on the verge of bursting. Clearly, the enemy's actions had annoyed him.
"Forget it, I'll show a little of my true ability, one minute."
"This one minute, I hope you can bring me joy, mongrel."
"『Infinite Super-Magic』, activate!"
"----"
"The game has begun!"
"Pupupupupupupupupupu"
Cold words echoed through the vast hall. Black flashes drew straight lines through the air, crisscrossing in space.
Each flicker made the monster trapped in the center emit a shrill, raspy scream, its body carved apart piece by piece.
Slaughter. A complete one sided beatdown.
The overwhelming power gap between adventurer and floor boss was laid bare. Such a grotesque spectacle was rarely seen even in all of Orario!
Blood sprayed upward like a fountain, mingling with black light to paint a tragic yet passionate scene.
"This… this is the legendary 17th-floor boss, the Goliath?!"
Three battered figures, their bodies gravely wounded, appeared at the far end of the giant chamber's passage, despair etched on their faces.
"This… this is impossible. A floor boss defeated single-handedly, and not just defeated, slaughtered without resistance. This isn't even a battle, it's a game!"
"How could there be such an adventurer…"
"Hey, Bell, Lili. Don't you find that figure familiar?" Even as Lv.2 adventurers, their dynamic vision far surpassed that of ordinary people.
And since Fron hadn't deliberately increased his speed, the three of them, straining their eyes with all their focus, could faintly make out that black blur felling the giant.
"Golden short hair, black cloak, a strange weapon that's part staff, part spear…"
The red-haired youth sucked in a deep breath, his tone certain and resolute:
"That weapon's name is 『Scholar · Argonne』. Then that person is-"
"『Scholar · Argon』?" The white-haired boy and the pallum girl looked at the tall redhead in confusion.
"Argon… that surname sounds familiar, I feel like I've heard it somewhere…" Lili's eyes were looking everywhere but at the figure. She recognized the person, but the answer was stuck in her throat, refusing to come out.
Bell, however, realized something in an instant. His whole body trembled, his crimson eyes widening, his finger trembling as he pointed ahead, unable to form words beyond stammering gasps.
Welf, "[Flame Demon], Fron Argon!"
"…" Lili's expression twisted.
"…" Welf's was complicated, tinged with sighs.
Only Bell Cranel looked upon the overwhelming one-sided slaughter with excitement plastered across his face.
"Now, he can't be called [Flame Demon] anymore."
"That's right. He should be called…"
"[Nightweaver], Fron Argon!"
…
"Hm?" Sensing three faint presences, Fron, still moving at high speed, cast his gaze toward them.
In an instant he recognized their identities, understanding immediately: 'Though gravely wounded, they endured and reached the 17th floor with sheer willpower. Ah correct, that part of the plot.'
With a chuckle, Fron decided not to toy around anymore now that he had an audience, he'd give the monster a swift end.
"Shing", the staff was infused with a rapid-cast spell, glowing orange from within.
"Die." He spoke lightly, but the order was absolute.
"Psshh" Even in perfect condition, the Goliath could never evade Fron's supersonic slash, let alone now, when it was already chopped into a crippled mess.
A blinding flash cut across its eyes, and the flame-imbued staff, now over five meters long, traced a stunning arc and effortlessly cleaved the Goliath's head!
"Bang!", in that instant, its body disintegrated into dust, leaving only a massive magic stone, over five meters in size, crashing down from above.
Lightly tapping his toes on the ground, Fron landed gracefully, walked up to the giant stone, patted it with a grin, and said:
"Not a bad haul. Exchanging this for valis should help ease the familia's financial troubles."
"Big brother Fr–Fron? It's really you? I didn't expect to meet you here!"
The three, limping and supporting each other, made their way over. Bell Cranel was still too excited to contain himself.
"Ah, Cranel, long time no see, hm? No, wait, we've met recently, haven't we? Isn't that right, Liliruca?"
"Hmph." Lili turned away, looking like she wanted nothing to do with Fron.
Fron's lips curved into a smile before he looked toward the red-haired youth.
"It really has been a long time, hasn't it, Welf?"
"Tch, you bastard. You've become ridiculously strong. Back then I knew it, you were a damn monster in human skin!"
"Hey now, don't make it sound so misleading. I'm a genuine human, alright!"
Fron patted his friend's shoulder cheerfully, which nearly made the already injured Welf, leaning on Bell for support, almost pass out.
"Argh… damn you, can't you see I'm half-dead here? Go easy on me!"
"Hahaha, sorry, sorry. I just got a little excited seeing old friends again."
