Chapter 3 - System Unveiled

Steven closed the door to his room, his mind buzzing with excitement. The system had already proven itself—unlocking skills, enhancing stats, and guiding him through even the simplest of tasks with hidden depth. But Steven knew he was only scratching the surface.

Sitting cross-legged on his bed, he took a deep breath. He needed answers.

"System," he said clearly. "Explain your abilities in detail."

The now-familiar voice echoed smoothly in his mind.

[System is a hyper-advanced AI embedded within the host's spiritual consciousness. Its primary objective is to assist the host in development and mastery across all domains. From academics to sports, music and dance to calligraphy and painting, martial arts to literature, physical training to linguistics—the system ensures exponential growth.]

Steven's eyes widened. "So, there's no limit to what I can learn?"

[There are no limits, Host. Only your willingness to explore.]

A grin spread across his face. "This is insane... What features do you offer?"

[System features include: Daily Quests, Dynamic Quest System, System Shop, Inventory, and Virtual Reality Training. Additional features will unlock as your progress continues.]

Steven leaned forward, intrigued. "Tell me more about the Quest System."

[The Quest System generates tasks based on real-world situations. For instance: if your parents request noodles, a quest may activate—Prepare 10 pots of noodles. Completion grants skills, stat boosts, and system points.]

"System points?" he echoed.

[System Points are a currency earned from quests. They can be spent in the System Shop on skills, items, or enhancements.]

Steven chuckled, shaking his head in disbelief. "You're basically a cheat code for life. Alright—what's today's quest?"

[Daily Quest already completed: Morning Exercise Routine. Rewards: 100 System Points, 1x Complete Recovery Elixir, 1x Military Fighting Manual. Manual stored in Inventory. Retrieve?]

"Not yet," Steven replied. "Open the System Shop first."

Instantly, a holographic interface appeared before him. Categories and prices were neatly arranged.

System Shop

Cooking Recipes – 50 SP

Martial Arts Manuals – 100 SP

Stat-Boosting Elixirs – 200 SP

Complete Recovery Elixir – 150 SP

Academic Study Guides – 50 SP

Steven scanned the screen, eyebrows raised. "This looks… basic."

[Host's available categories are currently limited. The more fields you explore, the broader the shop's offerings will become.]

"Fair enough," Steven muttered. "Let's check the inventory."

The interface shifted, revealing two items:

Complete Recovery Elixir

Military Fighting Manual

Steven selected the elixir. A vial materialized in his hand—small, glowing with an iridescent swirl.

[Complete Recovery Elixir: A miraculous potion capable of regrowing limbs, healing any injury, restoring vitality, and removing all fatigue.]

Steven stared at the vial, stunned. "This… could save lives."

He placed it carefully on his desk, then pulled out the manual. Bound in black leather, it had a weight that felt significant. He flipped it open, revealing hand-drawn diagrams of strikes, footwork, and tactical movements.

[Reading Military Fighting Manual. Combat Understanding +1.]

"Let's try some of this out," Steven said, clearing space. He place the vial of Complete Recovery Elixir back in the inventory.

He mimicked a basic stance. His first movements were awkward, but the system's guidance quickly corrected him—his balance stabilized, strikes sharpened, and footwork flowed.

[Practicing Military Combat. Skill Unlocked: Military Combat (Basic: 1/10).][Proficiency +1… +1… Maxed.][Skill Rank Up: Intermediate Proficiency (10/100).]

After 30 minutes, Steven stood panting, drenched in sweat—but exhilarated.

"I just mastered the basics… in a single session."

His eyes caught a section on weapons—swords, spears, staves.

"Too bad I don't have a sword lying around," he muttered.

[System offers Virtual Reality Training. Any weapon or equipment can be simulated.]

Steven blinked. "Virtual Reality? How does that work?"

[System VR is a simulated training environment with a time dilation ratio of 2:1. Two hours inside equals one hour in reality.]

His jaw dropped. "That's… amazing. Let's do it."

[Please sit in lotus posture.]

Steven obeyed. As his eyes closed, his mind plunged into darkness—then clarity.

When he opened his eyes, he was standing in a serene dojo. Wooden floors gleamed, and racks of weapons lined the walls. He walked to a rack and chose a Shinhai Bamboo Sword.

The weight was perfect—balanced and smooth in his grip.

He swung the blade slowly, following the manual's techniques. System prompts began to appear.

[Practicing Swordsmanship. Skill Unlocked: Basic Swordsmanship (1/10).][Proficiency +1… +1… Military Combat +1.]

[Skill Rank Up: Intermediate Proficiency (11/100).]

Hour after hour passed in the dojo—though only half of that time ticked by in the real world.

When Steven exited the simulation, he felt more alive than ever.
