He started to understand it now.
The infidels were not evil; it was the false god alone that was the source of evil that so brazenly took hold of humanity.
A demon calling himself a god was leading humanity.
Every single human kingdom worshipped Chrunus as the supreme god.
According to research he had done while raiding the cathedral's documents, other gods had a similar level of influence; however, it is said that those gods were traitors to Chrunus, and for their Hubris, they were punished.
Chrunus ruled over domains of Chaos, Space, and Gravity.
As such was a dangerous opponent for anyone, including him.
While he knew God had granted him immense power, he was not stupid enough to underestimate an opponent that apparently ruled over humanity and other gods.
As much as he wished to barge into his domain and cast the false god to hell, it was unwise to do so without knowing anything about the being.
In many ways, his inability to invade Chrunus instantly served to calm him and give him time to consider the best course of action.
The failure was not an option; God deserved perfection, and as his Chosen, it was his duty to make it so.
God had ordained that he would not invade Chrunus until the church of Chrunus had been dealt with.
He had spent a couple of days reading everything he could.
He sealed himself and Raguel in the library, making sure to absorb any lingering information about Chrunus.
His abilities, his followers, and of course, the sphere of influence that the false church had as a card.
The Bishop was cast to hell, leaving only the Cardinals.
Once they were dealt with, the church would collapse under its own weight.
'Now it's a waiting game, they just need to slip once.' Cedric's lips curled into a smile.
By God's will, they would slip, and with that, the Queen would denounce the church, which would give them more credibility to purge it.
No matter how much he wished to punish Chrunus and his false faith, and while it was tempting, he would suppress his fury.
It was merely a matter of time before his fist would close around the throat of the false church.
He pushed the door open before making his way to the 1st Legion's garrison.
While Valar was massive, he never had any difficulty moving through its vast land, after all, with God's gift, even light couldn't catch up.
Quickly dashing through the city, he leapt into the sky, the moment after he shifted his weight forward, getting himself into position to approach General Akshan.
He landed close to the garrison, intending not to barge in without notice.
While with demons he would not care, these people could potentially become Christians and, as such, deserved a modicum of respect.
"Halt!" An older soldier stopped him, his armor simple and yet magnificently crafted, his helmet's mane reminding him of ancient Roman helmets.
"Greetings! I am Cedric, God's Chosen. I am here to meet with Akshan." Cedric lifted one hand to his chest, saluting the soldier.
The man brought his hand to his chin before nodding.
"Please follow me, I will notify the general." With a quick stride, the soldier led Cedric towards a simple yet elegant wooden barrack.
<< Entity: Jov, Race: Human, Age: 36 Cycles, Patron: Chrunus, Class: Warrior, Level: 47.>>
<< Skills: Heroic Strike, Rallying Cry, Overpower.>>
<< Buffs: Pain Resistance, Physical Resistance.>>
<< Sins: Pride>>
<< Virtues: Patience, Diligence.>>
Cedric nodded in satisfaction. This Infidel had only a single sin, if he renounced Chrunus and embraced Christ, then he would truly be welcomed.
"Please wait here, Sir Cedric." The man bowed before making his way inside, leaving Cedric waiting.
Cedric crossed his arms before tapping his fingers.
His [God's Eye] peering through Akshan.

<< Buffs: Pain Resistance, Dark Resistance, Holy Resistance.>>
<< Sins: Pride>>
<< Virtues: Patience, Diligence, Chastity.>>
Cedric's eyes widened.
'... Someone with a virtue of Chastity... I never thought I would see a day.' He almost burst out laughing as he saw the rarest of virtues up to this point.
However, he quickly reprimanded himself; nobody who has a virtue should ever be laughed at.
Perhaps he had misjudged the First Legion.
He, of course, would only grant them one chance, but his impression improved compared to what it was before.
"Please come in, General is waiting." The solder bowed before rushing back to his post.
Soon after Cedric made his way inside, his imposing figure eclipsing relatively smaller General.
He scanned Cedric from top to bottom before standing up and stretching out his hand. "My name is Akshan, grand general of the 1st legion. May I ask for your name, sir?"
It seemed that the general intended to give proper respect, and in turn, Cedric would do so too.
"My name is Cedric, the God's Chosen."
Akshan smiled, his youthful face hiding the distrustful expression under a slight smile, "Glad to meet you. Please sit, I'm sure you haven't come here just to introduce yourself."
Akshan was clearly distrusting of him; however, he understood where the man was coming from, as Cedric, after all, was an unknown.
"The first legion will support the Queen Aurelia." he stopped for a moment, "The church of Chrunus will be destroyed, those who stand in the way of Christ will be purged."
Akshan looked at Cedric for a moment, "You are not from the church?"
Akshan fidgeted, his worry written on his face as plain as day.
The general went silent, his mind in thoughts that Cedric couldn't decipher.
"Sir Cedric... are you here to join the First Legion? We would love to recruit someone of your caliber!" He spoke excitedly, while rumors were bound to be exaggerated, but there was always some truth in them.
"No." Cedric crossed his arms.
"Then..." Akshan tilted his head in confusion.
Before Akshan could even finish, Cedric continued.
"I came to give you a warning, your legion will be spared. If you do not interfere with the eradication of the church, that is. I trust that you will comply." Cedric activated [Divine Zeal], putting just enough pressure on the general to guide him in the right direction.
Akshan sighed, "... In truth, the Church is a massive pain in the ass."
Cedric raised his brow under his helmet as Akshan continued speaking.
"Many of my soldiers are being used by them. I do not care if you destroy them. I give my words, my loyal soldiers won't rush to their side." Akshan stretched out his arm.
Cedric nodded before stretching his own, "Good, I am glad some Infidels have sense in them yet. The Church won't exist for long."
