Athena's pov...
I just got to Wally's house. I had boarded a taxi. The house I was seeing right now was so large and beautiful. They even had a fountain. Plus, this environment was filled with affluent looking people.
So he's a rich kid...
Explains his carefree and extravagant aura.
I rang the doorbell and waited nervously, strangely.
While I waited, I got a text from Jade.
{Jade: Where the hell are you?!}
{Me: I'm at a classmate's place right now, we're working on something together.}
{Jade: What?! When in the lord's name will you be back home?!}
{Me: Why? Anything wrong?}
{Jade: Just get your butt home quickly. Before Alina clocks out. I've got a date by 7}
So this is about a date.
{Me: K. I'll be home before then to stay with mom}
{Jade: Don't make me kill you}
{Me: Copy that asshole}
Then the door finally opened.
I put my phone into the back pocket of my jean pants as Wally came into view.
"Hey stranger," he smiled at me.
"So are you going to let me in or what?" I replied.
He just chuckled softly and opened the door wider for me to come in. I walked in and boy... The interior of his house was even more mind-blowing.
"Really nice out you've got here," the compliments slipped out.
"Thanks." He responded.
"Are you the only one home?" I turned towards him, and he was already standing so close to me, that I impulsively stepped a few steps back.
He chuckled, "Yes. Like that we're totally alone huh?"
"Get over your Baywatch." I turned away again.
"Yo hungry?" He asked.
"No thanks."
"Any house workers or siblings?" I continued to question as we started to climb the steps upstairs. I wasn't really interested, I was just trying not to be awkward.
"No sibling. Workers? Of course, who's supposed to take care of this huge house? But none that lives with us though." He continued to answer my questions.
"Where are we going to?" I inquired.
"My room," he responded.
"W-What?" I impulsively stuttered.
He then turned towards me as he had been leading the way. "Are you uncomfortable with that? It's just for the presentation, is it not?"
I could see the mischievous grin that tugged at his lips.
I just cleared my throat slightly, "Of course. There's nothing wrong with making use of your room."
"Cool."
"Cool!" I said too, and he smiled annoyingly again before he continued leading the way again.
"Ladies first," he said when we got to his room, and he opened the door.
I walked into the room.
It was neat- Too neat for a teenage boy's bedroom. But anyways, it had a cool aesthetics.
"Cool room," I uttered.
"Thanks again," he responded.
It was also large, with two other doors- probably leading to the bathroom and a large dressing room.
At one side of his room was collection of medals, trophies and awards which obviously were his for various things including academics and sports- Wow, I didn't picture him the scholar and athlete type.
Other boyish things decorated the other parts of the room.
"Make yourself at home." He said, "Don't worry I'll show you around next time."
That would be nice actually.
I sat on a cushion-like couch and started bringing out from my backpack, the stuffs I'd be needing. Wally slumped on his king size bed.
"Let's begin," I ushered.
"Already? You just got here, let's rest a little," he whined
"I'm not here to rest Wally." I retorted.
"Then I guess you'll be the only one to do all the work today, while I rest over here till you're done." He uttered.
"You're joking right?" I responded, standing up from the couch, then I started walking towards him. He stared up at me; "Do I look like I'm joking to you?" He smirked seeing the immediate rage that burned up my throat.
"This is why I hate working with people- I just end up doing all the work, so why is it even called teamwork in the first place!" I mentioned, "But not today, so get up!" I added and dragged at his hand.
But he dragged me towards himself with a force that I was soon on top of him, our lips almost touching.
My heart started racing as he held my waist, but not in a bad way. He stared at my eyes, and I too stared at those emerald green eyes of his, and it was as if I was stuck in a trance again, just like the first time we'd met. Wally is the first guy to make me experience this trance that Brittany and others so talked about.
Snap out of it Athena!- I yelled at myself.
It was when he started leaning in for a kiss that was when I finally recovered from the trance. I facepalm him, then stood up and away from him immediately.
I could feel the heat rise to my face again, my cheeks and ears are probably red by now, how does he manage to get me so flustered all the time.
"Are you crazy?!" I turned towards him again, once I felt normal again.
He was sitting up now, "Sorry." He apologized with no sincerity at all, he smiled; "I didn't know you were that lightweight to lose your balance that easily."
I just bit my lower lip.
I was so short of comebacks right now.
Her mind flashes to they almost kissed seconds ago. "I will just pretend like that didn't just happen. Let's just get started." I told.
"Tsk... You're so unlike other girls," I heard him mutter.
"Glad we're finally seeing eye to eye." I responded. I'm not other girls. I'm Athena Rydinger and I'm different, no girl who has gone through the trauma I went through in the hands of my own father, will still remain the same. I had to make a couple of visits to a psychotherapist office just to get this better.
He finally got off the bed and sat on another couch in the room.
"Fine, Athena Rydinger, let's get started." He smiled at me, and so I sat too, and we got straight to business.
