The air was tense. Everyone watched Jason, trying to figure out what decision he would make. I knew for a fact that if he actually tried to kill Victoria, I would break his hands in a second. There was no doubt that I would be fast enough. No doubt that I would be a second too late. I would definitely do it. No hesitation. No weighing the consequences. Just snap it in two.
Everyone was motionless. The noise of their breaths filled the room. Janet tried to keep her face steady, but she was clearly worried for Victoria—and she should be. Jason could be ruthless, even when it involved family.
