"you still celebrate your birthdays?" I raised an eyebrow.
"Yeah… yeah… I know you think its juvenile. It drove you crazy every year, initially it was for networking purposes but then an added bonus was to rile you. I used to find it cute when you would go on and on about planning a party."
He sounded amused. The way he said "cute" made me flush slightly.
"I still think its juvenile." I said it firmly. The stubbornness was performative, of course.
"Even now that life as a Numero comes with attending a dozen parties every weekend?"
