Chapter 52 - Mission Impossible: Tartarus

3:14 PM.

"Those are...?"

"High-end Nomus. As many as you'd need for his highness."

Izuku stared at the things, his expression speechless.

Toga hid behind him, a bit scared by their appearance.

They looked like... Monsters. Abomination of flesh and bones.

They shouldn't have existed to begin with, their existence was unholy and a significant desecration to the dead.

Nonetheless, they were impressive.

To turn a decaying corpse into something like this... Is fascinating.

As amazing as this was, it was too vile and disgusting so Izuku couldn't appreciate it.

It's like duct taping a banana to a wall and calling it an artistic masterpiece, absolute horseshit.

His gaze turned to the mad man. "What do these things do?"

Garaki's eyes gleamed. "This one has an electric pulse, useful against electric devices. This thin one can blend in the shadows and move through them with ease. This large one is good at taking hits like a massive punching bag. This one..."

The professor kept rambling on and on about his proud creations, highlighting their special Quirks and powerful bodies.

Toga noticed that he used the word "perfect" many times, almost as if normal humans aren't worthy in his eyes.

This man... He's trying to be play god.

This was her opinion of him.

Now for what reason? Toga failed to understand.

But Izuku knew. This filthy madman was trying to create a perfect vessel for his master, All for One.

Then rule with him as the "God" and his servant.

Regardless, Izuku was here to destroy everything AFO ever worked hard to build.

"They are amazing, Garaki-sensei. I'd like to take them with me to free Maou-sama!"

Garaki grinned, his thick mustache covering his teeth. "Fufu~ I knew you'd see them in the same way, Uzui-kun. Take as many as you need and bring his highness to me, this old man misses his only friend..."

Izuku hid his disgust, nodding obediently.

It was clear, those two were what historians loved to describe as just "Very good friends" but he knew better.

Disgusted and disturbed, Izuku turned around and walked to the exit, Toga dragged with him like a toddler.

"Oh Uzui-kun, one last thing."

Izuku turned, his kind smile returning. "Yes, Garaki-sensei?"

The old man smiled softly, his expression kind. "Call me grandpa."

"...Yes,I will... G-graaaannndpa."

Garaki raised an eyebrow but dismissed it as he turned around and walked away, humming a melody from his childhood.

Toga looked up towards Izuku, surprised to see him biting his tongue so hard it leaked blood, his face looked constipated like he swallowed a very rotten lemon.

"Izuku-chi... Are you okay???"

"Y... Yes.." he squeaked out.

After a long minute, Izuku headed out one more time.

He wore his armor, made sure his disguise was on, adjusted his mannerism and changed his personality, effectively becoming a different person.

He turned at his team. "Remember, avoid killing as much as possible. Are you ready?"

Tenko, Toga, Twice and Mr. Compress nodded firmly. "Ready!" x4

"Good. Today's mission is to invade tartarus, steel your resolve and...!"

"Dedicate your heart!" x4

Izuku smiled and walked out.

In a large clearing, he started ascending higher and higher until he reached the sky.

Behind him, an army of Nomus held up by clones of the Pterodactyl Nomu, courtesy of Twice.

Tenko and the others mounted the Nomus and followed Izuku towards their destination.

Soon, a massive army of deadly biological weapons headed to Tartarous, the most dangerous prison in the world, led by a blonde man flying ahead.

'Wait for us, Zen Shigaraki!' x7

Izuku increased his speed, promoting the Nomus to fly faster and away from the busy streets of the city.

[Ryukyu Hero Headquarters, Okinawa.]

"Ma'am! countless unidentified creatures were seen flying over Yanbaru rural areas, heading to an unknown location!" Aisha, Ryukyu's sidekick with the quirk [Sharp scales] quickly informed Ryukyu about the situation, her hand waved and the data from the screen pad immediately moved towards the large screen in the office.

Ryukyu calmly observed the numbers of the beasts, her eyes narrowed down in recognition. "Nomu..."

She turned towards her main sidekick, a thin woman with white hair and blue eyes, her signature mask covering her mouth, inspired by a character she liked as a kid. "Emergency meeting, call Nezu and all available aerial Pro-Heroes!"

"Yes!" Asaki hurried out, she informed everyone she can through a group emergency call signal.

"Thank you for your work," Nezu thanked, hanging out the phone.

Aizawa who was signing papers near him raised an eyebrow.

"Nomu. call everyone, we're heading to Tartarus," he informed, his face grim.

In les than a moment, Nezu realized their destination and identity.

Aizawa's back broke in sweat, immediately catching on.

"All for One..."

He jumped from his seat, running out of the door.

Nezu stayed in his office, his expression sour. They can't do anything if AFO managed to escape captivity.

With All Might retired and his next in line missing, he felt a sense of crises as he realized where this was heading.

To know is to manage. A person who knows more than others will be forced to act.

He called All Might and informed him of everything.

All Might felt a powerful sense of anxiety, so strong that Izuku himself felt it through his inherited connection with OFA.

"...They know," Izuku muttered, steeling his expression.

His legs kicked faster, zooming out like a charged missile.

"Yagi?" Inko looked at the man who suddenly got out of the couch, interrupting their movie.

"They are trying to bail All for One out. I believe Izuku will show up soon," he spoke in a deep voice, steam flickering above him for second before dissipating helplessly.

Inko's face froze.

All Might took out his phone and called a number.

The receiver picked up almost immediately.

"Sensei!"

"...Star."

Endeavor's headquarters.

Endeavor closed the personal call from Nezu, his face dark.

Near him was his sidekick, Burnin, her expression sour.

Without any explanation, he jumped from the top floor, his flamer roared and propelled him forward like a jet engine.

"Watch me...SHOTOOOO!"

Tokyo, south.

Best Jeanist headquarters.

Jeanist nodded multiple times, listening to the sidekick of Endeavor, Burnin.

"I see... I'm coming."

Closing the call, he turned towards his sidekick, Sutoraiku. "An army of Nomus is heading towards Tartarus, likely to free All for One, inform everyone."

The perfectionist nodded, a bead of sweat falling from his forehead, he was nervous.

"Shall I inform Mirko?"

"Sheis not an aerial fighter but she is No. 5, we need all the help we can get, yes."

Best Jeanist climbed to the Aircraft and flew away.

______________

"But sir! Japan is my homeland!" Skycrawler shouted, frustrated at his superior.

He refused letting his jet leave to Japan, threatening to shoot him down if he must.

"No buts! You were EXILED from that place, they don't want you like us, going there is too risky, you'll lose your Quirk! You going there is like throwing fuel into the fire!" a thin man wearing sunglasses shouted, his horns glew faintly in a rainbow.

"But.. But... My people.."

"We ARE your people, we need you more than them and we actually WANT you, now, come along, I have some people we must meet," the man tapped his back gently, slowly walking alongside him to the cafeteria with a smile.

"And be assured, everything is under control."

—————

"Nothing is under control, goddamnit!" Tim shouted, his hands banging on the desk.

Star has left her headquarters and directly went with a few fighter jets, heading towards Tartarus.

The problem was their lack of information. No one knew who the leader of that army is and what they intend to do with it.

Are they enemy? Is it an internal issue? Allies? No one knew.

"Sir!" a woman saluted. "The president is holding an emergency meeting, he requested your attendance!"

"... Fuck."

——————

"—Off!" Mirko sped through the roofs, heading directly towards Ryukuyo.

She smiled like a feral beast, adrenaline flaring up at the mention of a joint operation.

Her eyes zoomed in on a large figure, making her smile widen even more.

"Ryuku!"

"That's Ryukyu while I'm working, Airhead!!" she retorted, visibly shaking.

She tried to follow the army but they were too fast...

"Let's go!" Mirko bounced impatiently.

"What about the others?"

Endeavor flew above them, not even sparing a glance in their direction.

"..."

"Well??"

"... No, we need further reinforcem—"

A carrier pad landed near them, the figure of Aizawa popped out like a tired caterpillar.

"Hop in."

Mirko's smile returned.

Ryukuyo sighed and climbed along, pleasantly surprised to see the large amount of heroes inside the machine.

"Go!" Lemillion shouted anxiously.

The pilot nodded and sped away, other pilots behind him moved in a V formation at top speed, carrying other heroes.

The sight of multiple fighter jets startled the civilians who looked above and marveled at the sight.

——————

5:50 PM.

"Open fire!" The warden shouted at the top of his lungs after the swarm of enemies was in range.

"Roger!"

Countless .50 caliber bullets shot out at the invaders, painting a beautiful painting of lights against the setting sun.

"SHIELD UP!" Uzui shouted, blocking the bullets as best as he could.

A Nomu with a tanky physique crossed its arms, a giant spherical shield materialized in front of the army, blocking the barrage.

"It has began..." Tenko lowered his gaze, eyes on the prison island and its blaring alarms, his hair fluttering with the wind.

The large lights pointed in his direction.

Izuku canceled Flight and dove down like a burning meteor.

"Virtus."

He punched down.

His hands lit on fire from the force and friction, sending a massive stream of fire down to the island, blowing a deep hole in its structure.

The prison shook violently, sending the guards to the maximum alert.

Zen Shigaraki, better known as All for One, smiled in his seat.

He was shackled down, needles injected into his bone marrow, paralyzing him.

The only part that can move was his head, for the purpose of investigation.

BOOM! BOOM! BOOOOM! BOOOOOM!!!

"He's making quite a fuss upstairs..." Zen laughed, his eyes glazed with madness. "Come, Tomura!"

"GAAAAHHH!!!" Tenko landed and directly ran through the raging battlefield, jumping into the door with intense impatience.

The door crumbled to dust and blew away.

Izuku landed with a roll.

He looked at the Nomus that were standing still. "Go help him infiltrate."

The Nomus stared at him with a creepy grin and a stiff face before shifting their gaze towards Tenko and running towards him.

"... Creepy things," Izuku shuddered a little.

He turned towards Toga. "Do you trust me?"

Toga stared for a second before nodding her head.

"Compress, I need toga to tag along with me, compress her into a small pebble."

?!

"I—I can fight!"

"I know. But I need you unscathed and full of energy, you're vital for this operation. You'll do this for me, won't you?" he held her hands, his gaze gentle.

"O...Okay..." she blushed, nodding obediently.

"Being handsome sure is nice~" Sako placed a hand over the girl, turning her into a pebble.

Izuku caught it and stashed her in his pocket. "Thanks."

"Heh. Now for my great show! Let the whole world see as I make Tartarus disappear!!!" Sako spread his hands wildly, his eyes gleaming with excitement as the air blew against his back.

Countless laser attacks rained on the prison, opening holes in its force field.

"Sir! The force field is damaged!!"

"Damn it!" the warden shouted and ran to his rifle. "Where are the fucking reinforcement!?"

"2 minute until arrival," a calm voice from the monitor replied.

Aizawa on the other side lowered his fingers from his ear piece, sighing in exhaustion.

He regretted not sleeping last night.

Spending his day as a teacher and his night as a hero was catching up to him.

"You do realize that this is a suicide mission, right?" the pilot asked in a calm voice, his tone serene.

"... We're heroes. Suicide missions are common."

"You have my respect, heroes. Reaching target in 30 second."

Aizawa nodded, tightening his scarf.

Behind him were Present Mic, Mountain Lady, Kamui woods, Thirteen and many other popular figures.

———

Izuku crossed the gates, walking calmly amongst the chaos.

"First."

'Below you, I can feel him near.'

"I see," he looked down.

Izuku jumped and coated himself in multiple layers of dark tendrils, forming a human drill.

He spun as he dove down through the floors, reinforced structure tearing away under his might.

'Stop!'

Izuku halted, his body slamming into the floor and failing to bend it despite the force.

He stood up slowly.

"..."

Directly opposite to him was the man he wanted to reach the most.

"You... Who are you? I've never seen you before. Where is Shigaraki?" Zen asked, perplexed.

This wasn't according to plan, All for One didn't know who the blonde man was.

Izuku calmly walked to him, ignoring the many defensive devices that he triggered.

Zen watched, amused as the quiet man slowly approached, he now understood how he reached him first.

Strong. Too strong.

Such an incredible body.

He wondered how Tomura managed to recruit such a powerful ally, his greed soared as he wondered about his Quirk.

Eventually, he reached him, standing directly before him.

"Quite a show, eh—" Zen paused, his eyes widening in terror.

Behind the blonde man appeared the apparition of his brother, Yoichi Shigaraki.

Multiple other users appeared as well, all calmly staring like demons waiting to snatch an innocent soul and drag it to hell.

Izuku grinned madly, his irises turning primal, sending powerful goosebumps down All for One's spine.
