In front of her, a Bodhisattva with kind eyes and a benevolent appearance was sitting serenely atop a lotus platform in the center of the temple, gazing down at her from on high.
The Bodhisattva's demeanor was compassionate, with hands poised in a flower-holding and bottle-carrying position, and behind them were four pairs—eight arms in total—each in a different pose.
Beneath the lotus platform, a hideously carved wooden white snake was twisted and pressed beneath the pink petals, seemingly forming a part of the base itself.
On both sides, couplets were displayed:
[Form attains Nirvana, pure bliss originates from emptiness]
[Joy births wondrous being, true emptiness seeks desire through]
