Chapter 40 - Chapter 30: Beating the Dog in the Water

Fa Xiaoyi stealthily glanced at Lie Sisi, noting that both Yue Jinghua and Lie Sisi were behaving somewhat strangely today.

Yue Jinghua would never dare to speak loudly in his presence on a normal day, always showing a demure and shy demeanor, which was a stark contrast to the hooligan's insolence seen in the stands today.

And in his heart, Lie Sisi had always been gentle and charming, like a delicate white flower that evokes pity. However, the words she had just spoken were laden with double entendres, effectively cutting off Yue Jinghua's escape routes.

Just earlier, Shalman from the Outer Court skillfully secured his victory using an Illusion Technique, which left a deep impression on the audience.

The true strength of the Outer Court remains to be tested. Though no one knows by what means Yue Jinghua defeated the Qing Brothers, since she has promised to use only Basic Martial Techniques, any other auxiliary methods leading to victory are not permitted.

If Lie Sisi had witnessed Yue Jinghua's violent street fighting earlier, one could only wonder what expression she might show.

Fa Xiaoyi pondered, shifting his gaze back and forth between Yue Jinghua and Lie Sisi. Upon catching a fleeting glimpse of confidence in Yue Jinghua's eyes, he found himself holding his breath. That confidence illuminated her entire being, making it impossible for one to look away.

As the command for the competition resounded, the seemingly mismatched contest between the Inner Court and Outer Court began.

Liu Xi, like a bullet fired from its chamber, launched into the air, his robe billowing with wind. Amidst the 'bang bang' and 'pop pop' sounds, his academy uniform tore apart, revealing his muscular body.

His skin tinted bronze, and his fists, the size of bowls, created a flurry of shadows with their wind as he punched, engulfing Yue Jinghua in a storm of fist shadows in an instant.

"Bang," an iron fist narrowly whizzed past Yue Jinghua's face, prompting Shalman to cry out in alarm.

Yue Jinghua narrowly dodged the punch, which then created a large hole in the duel platform behind her.

"Senior Brother Liu, show this ugly girl some color,"

"Kill her for daring to insult our people in the Inner Court,"

"Neither the Outer Court nor dogs are allowed inside,"

"What impressive movements, Senior Brother Liu,"

Liu Xi threw a series of punches in succession, and as cheers erupted from the stands, he became even more exhilarated.

Yue Jinghua dodged them all, albeit barely, her erratic footwork was devoid of any pattern, and her hair, tousled by the wind of the punches, hung in disarray, adding to her disheveled appearance.

Finally steadying herself, Yue Jinghua clumsily struck out several times with her palms, displaying no recognizable techniques. One palm brushed Liu Xi's leg, merely grazing the hem of his garment, and another skated past his waist, not only failing to shatter the stands but also failing to graze his skin.

A public embarrassment, Lie Sisi sneered coldly.

Fa Xiaoyi, witnessing Yue Jinghua's performance, which was starkly different from the previous day's, also showed a hint of surprise.

"Liu Xi, your feud is with me and has nothing to do with her," Shalman said, witnessing each of Liu Xi's lethal moves aimed at Yue Jinghua's vital points, and even the instructor from the Inner Court turned a blind eye, showing no intention of intervening; she regretted this. If Yue Jinghua got injured because of this...

"Rip," suddenly, two bare legs white as cotton were exposed.

As if a Prohibition of sound had been cast, everyone in the stands fell silent.

An unscrupulous head of the academy hiding in the nearby lush foliage of a tree whistled, "Such a pair of white legs."

"Hiss—" another sharp sound rang out, but this time, what was exposed was not merely a pair of legs but... a scene unfit for children.

The female students in the stands let out whimpers, turning their backs away.

The male students, on the other hand, were all struck dumbfounded, staring at the proudly standing third leg.

Liu Xi, a towering man of seven feet, had, just moments earlier, been chasing a "weak" woman around the stands, but now under the watchful eyes of the crowd, he was reduced to a baby's state.

Even Liu Xi himself couldn't understand how his pants had ripped.

Fa Xiaoyi's shoulders trembled suspiciously, with his level of Cultivation, he had only seen a starlight-like shadow flash beneath Yue Jinghua's palm strikes. It was those two clumsy-looking shadows that seamlessly cut through Liu Xi's trousers and belt.

If those shadows had cut just an inch deeper, Liu Xi's legs would not have remained intact.

Understanding Yue Jinghua's deliberate subterfuge dawned on Fa Xiaoyi.

From the very beginning, Yue Jinghua had never intended to kill Liu Xi; she only wanted to humiliate him thoroughly.
