Chapter 55 - Chapter 55 : Nightmare of Academy I

"Such a boring noble. Looks like you're the type who hides behind your mother when you're scared."

Seeing that Van didn't react at all to his mockery, Master Aaron ignored him and turned to Arthur.

"Hey, rainbow-colored mad dog, what are you doing? Swinging that sword? So slow! Can't you swing faster? Even the pigs and stray dogs I saw this morning could swing a sword faster than you," Master Aaron spat in less than ten seconds.

Hearing the insults, a vein bulged on Arthur's forehead, and his body trembled violently, showing just how furious he was.

In the end, all Arthur could do was swing his sword faster to vent his anger.

Seeing Arthur's reaction so similar to Van's, Master Aaron grew slightly annoyed and bored.

"Is this all you troublemaking brats can do? You swing your swords like exhausted snails. You act like this Academy belongs to your family. Look at you two—one with a flat, depressed face, and the other a mad dog with schizophrenia."

'I thought I'd get used to this after a few classes, but I still can't stand it,' Van thought, irritated.

"F*ck! I'm going to kill that man one day," Arthur muttered as they walked down the corridor.

Van walked beside him in silence, letting Arthur's endless curses wash over him.

*BOOM

A deafening explosion rocked the building, the tremor so powerful that the entire structure shook violently.

*TING

*TING

*TING

Several of Nana's clones appeared, shouting in panic.

"EVACUATE IMMEDIATELY! THE ACADEMY IS UNDER ATTACK!"

'What? An attack? Who's crazy enough to attack the Academy at a time like this? Is it the [Gehenna Cult] again?' Van thought in disbelief.

*BOOM

Before Van could recover from the shock, another, even more powerful explosion went off.

The tremors cracked the walls, and the damage spread quickly, especially across the ceiling.

*CRACK

The ceiling finally gave way, debris of all sizes crashing down.

Seeing the falling rubble, the students panicked instantly, including Nana.

"VICTOR!" Nana screamed.

"Got it!"

Victor chanted a spell, and the rubble stopped in mid-air just before it could crush the students.

The students stared blankly at the debris hovering above, but their trembling bodies betrayed their fear.

"Quickly! Get to the basement! The Masters are fighting the attackers outside!" Nana yelled.

The students snapped out of it and ran out of the building. Van and Arthur followed at the rear of the crowd.

"What do we do, Master?" Arthur asked, his face serious.

"We'll see," Van answered, his flat expression unchanged, though his eyes glowed faintly purple.

"Hey, don't die out there," Nana called as she caught up.

"Don't worry. We won't die that easily," Van replied without turning, his gaze sharp ahead.

"May the [Gods] bless you," Nana said.

'[Gods]? What nonsense is that?' Van thought, recalling the [Gods] he himself had created.

"How's the Academy holding up?" Van asked calmly.

"I'm not sure. All I know is that the [Academy Committee] members rushed to help evacuate each building," Nana answered, anxious.

Van, Arthur, Nana, Victor, and the others finally made it outside.

What greeted them was chaos.

Building debris, gaping holes in the ground, smoke, fire, blood, and scattered limbs were everywhere.

"Ahhh! Help me!"

"Get to safety!"

"Run faster! Are you trying to get me killed?!"

"Kill those children! They're the Academy's future!"

"If we succeed, Avalon's future is doomed!"

"Protect the students!"

"Use defensive and healing magic!"

"What the hell…" Victor whispered, wide-eyed, his lips trembling.

Nana fell silent, covering her mouth at the horrifying scene.

"This is what it looked like during the [Gehenna Festival]," Arthur said coldly.

His gaze swept over the devastation, his eyes filled with killing intent. His hand trembled as he gripped his sword's hilt tightly.

"Nana! Victor!"

Recognizing the voice, they turned to see Lucas running toward them.

"Lucas! What's the situation?!" Nana asked, panicked.

"I don't know. It's chaos. The students are scattering in every direction—we can't control them," Lucas said, exhausted, his clenched fists bleeding.

"Damn it! Why won't they listen?!" Victor cursed, furious.

"What about the others? Lily? Silvie?" Nana asked, worried for the other [Academy Committee] members.

"I don't know. We split up to evacuate the students. I don't know where they are or how they're doing," Lucas admitted, panicking as well.

"God…" Nana and Victor muttered, anxious and afraid.

"Either way, we have to speed up the evacuation. We can't afford any more student casualties," Lucas said, his tone firm.

*BOOM

Another massive explosion.

All five of them turned toward the source, where flames shot into the sky. A figure was thrown from the blast, crashing to the ground and rolling several times.

Their expressions changed instantly—even Van's calm face shifted to shock when he saw who it was.

"Master Rock!" Nana screamed.

Master Rock lay unconscious, his body covered in burn marks.

"That bastard's a monster with insane strength and defense, and even he ended up like this?!" Arthur muttered, struggling to believe his eyes.

"Let's fall back. We can't beat someone who can take down Master Rock. If we try, we'll just be a burden to the Masters," Van said, regaining his composure.

"The [Academy Committee] members at other buildings must be working to evacuate the students too. We just need to focus on getting them to safety here," Victor added.

"Yeah, we should help the Masters by speeding up the evacuation," Lucas agreed.

"How?" Nana asked.

"Van, Nana—you two use [Clone] and [101 Shadows] to give us the numbers advantage. Victor, get students out from under the debris. Arthur and I will help distract any enemies or unknown threats," Lucas said.

"Got it," Van, Arthur, Nana, and Victor answered in unison.
