Tavian's eyes welled up with tears, and he looked like he was about to burst into crying.
Rafayel gently took Tavian's hand, helped him stand up, and softly said, "Alright, no crying now." He then used his magic to heal the scrape on the boy's forehead.
"That's why I told you not to run. It's lucky that I'm here and can heal you quickly, but you know I can't always be around. You have to be more careful, okay?" Rafayel warned him gently. As always, after scolding him, Rafayel hugged him and praised, "You did well holding back your tears."
"Ugh… sniff… I'm sorry," Tavian apologized obediently.
Watching this scene, Rafayel thought to himself with quiet satisfaction, I'm glad he's growing up to be such a good boy… I really have Tama and everyone else to thank for that.
Just like how Rafayel was raised, Tama was in charge of most of Tavian's education. When he played outside, Orinus would accompany him, and for magic and sword lessons, Varek was his teacher.
