Wentworth was momentarily stunned at the sight before him, but it was unfortunate that Draco's spell, upon hitting the troll, only made the creature sway slightly without lifting it into the air.
The troll scratched its head in confusion, then prepared to raise its wooden club once more.
Cedric, standing nearby, turned to Wentworth and asked, "Aren't we going to intervene? Trolls naturally have some resistance to magic, and with a creature this large, Draco's magic won't be enough to cause any real harm!"
Wentworth gestured for Cedric to wait a moment, though he tightened his grip on his wand, ready to step in at any moment.
Just as the troll was about to raise its club again, Harry—who had been throwing stones—darted forward, grabbing the troll's arm and letting himself be hoisted high above the ground.
Harry released his grip, landing precariously on the troll's head.
"Harry!" Draco shouted, his face full of alarm.
Perched atop the troll, Harry began furiously smacking its head. He even drew his wand and jammed it up the troll's nostril.
The troll, now enraged, yanked Harry from its head, holding him by his legs and dangling him in front of its chest. It raised its club, ready to smash Harry.
"Help me!" Harry shouted.
Draco raised his wand once more, concentrating deeply as he prepared to cast another spell.
At the same time, Ron dashed forward and clung to the troll's club. The troll shook the club violently, trying to dislodge Ron, but Ron clung on for dear life.
After two failed attempts to shake Ron off, the furious troll lifted the club high, preparing to slam it to the ground—with Ron still attached.
If the club struck, Ron would be crushed.
Finally ready, Draco shouted, "Levicorpus! Levicorpus!"
Rather than targeting the troll, Draco's spells hit Harry and Ron. Both boys were lifted into the air, hanging upside down.
However, because the troll was still gripping them, the creature itself began to float, resembling someone holding two helium balloons.
Watching the bizarre scene unfold, Wentworth muttered, "This fight is getting stranger by the minute."
Outside the girls' bathroom, a slender figure hid behind a pillar. It was Cassandra, who had followed Wentworth after spotting him leave the evacuation group.
Cassandra observed everything with a calm, appraising gaze.
"Harry Potter? Brave, but nothing more for now. But that little Slytherin..."
Her eyes shifted to Draco, admiration flickering across her face.
"Draco Malfoy? Quick reflexes, resourceful, and his spellwork is impressive for his age. He might have the makings of a great wizard... perhaps worthy of an invitation."
As Cassandra assessed Draco, the troll, now floating, seemed uneasy. With its feet no longer on solid ground, it closed its eyes and released its grip on Harry and Ron.
The troll crashed to the floor, then picked up a long stick, glaring at the boys still suspended from the ceiling.
Draco, his face pale and drenched in sweat, raised his wand again. But Wentworth noticed the strain—Draco was pushing himself far beyond the limits of a wizard his age.
Wentworth shook his head and turned to Cedric. "Let's end this. Stupefy!"
To ensure Harry and Ron's safety, Wentworth first cast, "Expelliarmus!"
The troll's stick flew from its hand. As the creature stared dumbly at its empty palm, Cedric's Stunning Spell struck it squarely.
Despite Cedric's exceptional magical prowess, the troll remained on its feet, swaying dizzily but not collapsing.
Wentworth was astonished. Cedric's power far exceeded most wizards his age, yet even his Stunning Spell couldn't bring the troll down.
No wonder Professor McGonagall had later called Harry, Ron, and Hermione lucky—defeating a troll with magic alone was nearly impossible for first-years.
Without hesitation, Wentworth joined the attack. "Stupefy!"
Under the combined assault of multiple Stunning Spells, the troll finally succumbed, collapsing to the floor with a thunderous crash.
Hermione, who had been cowering nearby, shrieked as the troll's body fell toward her, scrambling away just in time.
"Boom!"
The ground trembled as the troll hit the floor, sending dust into the air.
Hermione stumbled, but Draco instinctively reached out and caught her.
