Chapter 506 - Chapter 506: Three People Rejected

[Aunt May suddenly pushed open the door, holding a letter in her hand. "First reply!" she announced with nervous excitement.]

[Peter who was studying at the table looked up, and his attention was immediately drawn to the envelope. His eyes filled with hope as he watched Aunt May's face carefully for any sign of good news.]

[But after reading the result, Aunt May's expression fell. She directly slapped the letter away in frustration. Spider-Man shrugged his shoulders and pretended not to care: "It doesn't matter! This is just an alternative!" But the disappointment was clear in his voice despite his attempt to sound casual.]

[The scene changes, and Aunt May runs in with another letter, more hopeful this time. "Peter!" she called out urgently.]

[Spider-Man hurriedly fell from the ceiling, holding his coffee. Because of the large amplitude of the movement, the coffee in the cup spilled out, creating a small mess on the floor.]

[He stood beside the table and looked at Aunt May in disbelief, his heart sinking as he saw her expression. "Didn't he get in?" he asked, though he already knew the answer from her face.]

[Aunt May enters the room for the third time, carrying what they both knew was their last hope. "This is the last one!" she said, trying to keep her voice steady.]

[Spider-Man, who was eating breakfast, immediately put down his cutlery and turned around with desperate hope: "Is it MIT?"]

[Ned, who was sitting at the table, suddenly threw his head back in nervous anticipation and accidentally knocked the Death Star model on the table onto the chair. The model that Spider-Man had finally put together after hours of careful work fell apart again, the pieces scattering across the floor. This startled Spider-Man, who saw it as yet another bad omen.]

[The scene changes. Now that his identity has been exposed, Spider-Man no longer needs to pretend or hide his heroic activities. He descends from the sky in his regular clothes and runs to the store where MJ works. MJ sees Spider-Man approaching and holds up the letter from MIT, her expression already telling him everything he needs to know.]

[Spider-Man walks inside the small burger shop. Ned is already waiting there, clutching his own envelope with white knuckles. The three of them look at each other nervously, the weight of their futures hanging in the balance.]

["Come on! Are you ready?" Spider-Man asks, trying to inject some confidence into his voice.]

["Jones! Didn't I tell you to take off those Halloween decorations?" MJ's boss barked from behind the counter, completely oblivious to the life-changing moment happening in his establishment.]

[MJ asked back with barely contained irritation: "Didn't you tell Sasha about this?"]

[The boss said impatiently, waving his hand dismissively: "Stop talking nonsense! Just do it when I tell you to!"]

[MJ couldn't overcome her boss's stubbornness, so she just obeyed and said through gritted teeth, "I'll do it right away!"]

[Ned, who was sitting nearby at one of the small tables, was visibly shaking. "I'm so nervous I want to vomit!" he admitted, his face pale.]

[MJ said, trying to sound calm despite her own anxiety: "Just bear with it! The boss is making me clean up this mess first!"]

[Ned looked at the envelope in his hand as if it contained his entire future, which in many ways it did. "This is our last chance! If we don't get in, we won't be able to study together anymore!"]

[Spider-Man tried to encourage them, though his own voice wavered: "Hey! Stop saying discouraging things! We've got this!"]

["Okay! Are you ready? Count to three! One, two, three!" Spider-Man counted down, his heart pounding.]

[The three of them opened their envelopes together, picked up the letters inside and began reading. As they processed the words, the expressions on their faces slowly froze into masks of disappointment and disbelief.]

[MJ took a deep, shaky breath. Spider-Man looked up at her hopefully, but she shook her head slowly. "I didn't get in!" she said, her voice barely above a whisper.]

[Spider-Man's heart sank as he looked at Ned desperately. "What about you?"]

[Ned read the contents of his letter aloud, his voice growing angry: "In view of the recent controversy surrounding your association with Spider-Man, we are temporarily unable to accept your application at this time!" He looked up, his eyes flashing. "This is not fair!"]

[Spider-Man felt like the world was crashing down around him. "This is so unfair! I didn't do anything wrong! And you two certainly didn't! You shouldn't have to pay for my mistakes!"]

[MJ tried to remain calm and philosophical, though her voice cracked slightly: "Without hope, there will be no disappointment!" But despite her brave words, she still felt utterly lost inside, her dreams of studying at MIT crumbling before her eyes.]

["GOT INTO BOSTON!!!" Just then, a sudden, triumphant shout echoed from the door. The three friends turned around and saw that it was Flash Thompson.]

[He was practically dancing at the entrance, waving his acceptance letter excitedly in the air. He had clearly succeeded in getting into MIT, but his celebration came to an abrupt halt when he noticed that Spider-Man, MJ, and Ned all had devastated expressions on their faces.]

["You guys... didn't get in?" he asked, his voice dropping to an uncertain whisper.]

[Ned said with bitter resignation: "Yeah! Because we're Spider-Man's real friends! Because we stood by him when the world turned against him!"]

[Flash realized he had unknowingly rubbed salt in their wounds. He blinked awkwardly and looked at his watch, desperate to escape the uncomfortable situation. "Okay! I should go! I have to get to the freshman orientation meeting... Sorry, everyone!" He practically fled from the shop.]

[Spider-Man watched him leave in silence, feeling an overwhelming weight of guilt settle on his shoulders. He had never imagined that because of his revealed identity, because of the choices he'd made as Spider-Man, Ned and MJ would be denied their futures. The two people who had supported him through everything were now paying the price for his heroism.]

[The boss urged MJ again, completely insensitive to the emotional devastation that had just occurred: "Jones! Stop being lazy and get to work!"]

["Yeah! I'll go right away!" MJ responded automatically, then looked at Spider-Man with forced optimism. "You know what? It's no big deal that we didn't get in! There are other schools, other paths."]

[She deliberately tore the rejection letter in her hand into small pieces, smiled at Spider-Man with all the strength she could muster, and walked away to begin cleaning up the Halloween decorations.]

["I think so too!" Ned said, following MJ's lead and tearing up his own letter. Then he hesitated for a moment before adding with a weak smile, "But I'll still take the pieces back to show my parents... they're going to want to know."]

[He put on his backpack, sighed deeply, patted Spider-Man on the shoulder in a gesture of solidarity, and left the burger shop with heavy steps.]

[Spider-Man stood alone, holding his own rejection letter, feeling the full weight of responsibility crushing down on him. As he looked around the shop, his eyes accidentally fell on the Halloween decorations hanging above - decorations that MJ would now have to remove. Suddenly, he thought of someone who might be able to help. A desperate, bold idea began forming in his mind.]

"Oh! Are the admissions officers at this school completely insane? This is Spider-Man we're talking about! The hero who helped save the world! And they're just rejecting them like that?" For the first time, Tony Stark found himself speechless about his own alma mater.

"Maybe the person who made this decision had his head caught in a door!" Rhodes said, spreading his hands in disbelief.

"Hahaha!" Scott laughed bitterly. "Yeah! Maybe he's even been kicked by a donkey! What kind of backwards thinking is this?"

The mysterious man covered his head in frustration and stood up abruptly. "I'm going to go find that lying piece of trash!"

"Why?" Banner was initially confused, but then he suddenly realized what was happening when he looked at Mysterio, who was clenching his fists in rage.

So Quentin Beck, whose face was still bruised and swollen from previous encounters, was beaten by Mysterio again and rendered unable to take care of himself. Also unlucky was William, who had posted the original doctored video and aided in the deception.

Although Quentin Beck and William attempted to sue Mysterio for assault, they were blocked by Nick Fury with a simple but effective argument: "The other party is technically you from another universe. Do you really want to sue yourself?"

[Spider-Man walked down the busy New York street with his phone in hand, desperately searching for the location of the New York Sanctum Sanctorum. His fingers moved quickly across the screen as he navigated through map applications and online searches. After several minutes of searching, he finally found his target - a building that looked completely ordinary from the outside, blending seamlessly with the other brownstones on the street.]

[He approached the front door with nervous determination and was about to press the doorbell, but before his finger could make contact, the door opened automatically with an almost mystical smoothness. What Spider-Man saw beyond the threshold was completely unexpected - white snow covering the ground as far as he could see inside the building.]

[Spider-Man was utterly confused by the bizarre situation inside what should have been a normal building interior. He stepped through the doorway carefully, his spider-sense tingling slightly. Two mages in traditional robes were actively shoveling snow inside the building, working methodically to clear pathways.]

[The unexpected coldness of the snow made Spider-Man unconsciously clench his hands together for warmth. He cleared his throat awkwardly and offered a tentative greeting to the two workers: "Um, hi there!"]

[The two mages stopped their snow-shoveling activities at exactly the same time and looked at him in complete silence, their expressions unreadable behind their mystical demeanor.]

[Seeing that they offered no response whatsoever, Spider-Man tried again, raising his voice slightly: "Hi? I'm..."]

[Before he could finish his introduction, a brilliant yellow circle of sparking light appeared in the air nearby. Wong stepped through the portal, carrying what appeared to be magical supplies, speaking as he emerged: "The most notorious person in the world right now! I know exactly who you are! My name is Wong!" He gestured toward the snowy floor with a warning tone. "Watch your step carefully! If you slip and fall here, no one is going to compensate you for your injuries!"]

[Spider-Man looked around at the surreal situation - snow inside a building, mystical portals, robed sorcerers - and made his best guess: "Are you guys... having some kind of winter-themed party?"]

["No!" Wong replied matter-of-factly as he walked toward the stairs, stepping carefully around the snow drifts. "There's an unstable portal connection to Siberia somewhere in here! A blizzard has been blowing through for the past several hours, and we're trying to contain the environmental damage!"]
