[In the illusion, Star-Lord looked at Mary in surprise, "Mom!"]
["Hold my hand!!!" Gamora's voice echoed in his ears.]
[Tears welled up in Star-Lord's eyes, and a tear fell from his eyes.]
[The scene changes, and Mary's figure disappears, and turns into Gamora, who is reaching out and rushing towards him.]
[The illusion dissipated, and Star-Lord returned to the power storm. He reached out to Gamora.]
[The moment she held Gamora's hand, she felt an extremely huge amount of energy rushing into her body, instantly causing her extreme pain.]
[But even with Gamora's help, Star-Lord still couldn't withstand the power of the Power Stone, and both of them were tortured by this energy.]
[Seeing another person coming to die, Ronan snorted softly and waited for Star-Lord to be destroyed by the gem.]
[At this moment, Drax came over despite the storm and put his palm on Star-Lord's shoulder to relieve him of some of the pressure.]
[Instantly, the light of the power gem extended from Drax's arm to his entire body, causing him to scream.]
[At this last moment, a furry little hand slowly reached out and grabbed Drax's fingers.]
[In just a moment, all the rocket's hair exploded.]
[But his joining was the last straw that broke the camel's back. Star-Lord, who held the Power Stone, successfully controlled the power of the Power Stone with the help of the other three.]
[His skin, which had been broken and shattered, was restored to its original state. He held the gem in his hand and looked at Ronan in front of him with a firm gaze.]
[Ronan looked incredulous and shouted, "You are just mortals! Why?!!"]
[Under the effect of the Power Stone, Star-Lord's pupils turned purple and he looked at him with sharp eyes, "You said it yourself! Asshole! We are the Guardians of the Galaxy!"]
[Ronan unconvincedly raised his warhammer, which was only a stick left, and wanted to fight to the death.]
[Unexpectedly, Star-Lord just opened his palm, and the Power Stone emitted a purple light that enveloped Ronan.]
[Ronan was controlled to float in the air, and purple energy continued to hit his body. He roared unwillingly, and finally turned into ashes under the effect of the power gem.]
[After destroying Ronan, Star-Lord immediately clenched his palm again, and Gamora quickly pressed the sphere she had brought with her onto the Power Stone, instantly absorbing it.]
[As the Power Stone was put into the ball, the storm that enveloped everyone gradually dissipated. Seeing that everything was settled, Gamora and the others breathed a sigh of relief.]
Meanwhile, across the galaxy, Ego's excitement reached a fever pitch. "It's him! He must have inherited my power! Otherwise, he wouldn't be able to withstand the force of that gem!" The living planet could barely contain his elation. After countless millennia of searching and disappointment, he had finally found what he'd been looking for. His son—his true heir—had revealed himself at last.
The ship had already changed course, now heading directly toward Xandar. Even if Star-Lord wasn't there currently, it didn't matter. Ego had waited this long; he could afford to be patient a little longer. Besides, with the Guardians of the Galaxy making such a name for themselves lately, tracking them down would be child's play.
Beside him, Mantis shifted uneasily, her antennae twitching with barely suppressed anxiety. The empath knew exactly what Ego planned to do once he found his son, and the knowledge filled her with dread. If he succeeded in his grand design, countless worlds would burn. Entire civilizations would be consumed in his twisted vision of perfection.
But what could she do? Ego's power dwarfed her own completely. Star-Lord would stand no chance against his celestial father—unless, perhaps, he still had access to something like the Power Stone. But even then, Mantis wasn't sure it would be enough.
Back on Earth, Star-Lord remained blissfully unaware that his biological father was hunting for him across the stars. Instead, he found himself wrestling with a much more mundane dilemma—whether or not to visit his grandfather's family. The revelation from Tony that his grandfather was not only still alive but in good health had completely blindsided him.
Peter had always assumed the old man had passed away years ago. After all, it had been decades since he'd been taken from Earth. The thought that family was still out there, still breathing, still living their lives without him—it stirred emotions he wasn't quite ready to face.
[Star-Lord looked at the ball in his hand, then glanced at Gamora who was panting. Before he could say anything, Yondu's voice rang out.]
["The sound and light effects are amazing! So touching! But our deal isn't over yet! You can play kissing after the deal is done!"]
[Hearing Yondu's voice, Star-Lord and Gamora's expressions changed slightly, but then Star-Lord adjusted himself and turned to look at Yondu who was surrounded by a group of predators.]
[Star-Lord puts the hand holding the sphere where Yondu and the others can't see.]
[Gamora shook her head and said, "Quill! No! Quill!"]
[Star-Lord looks at Yondu solemnly.]
["Think about it carefully, Yongdu! I don't know who you want to sell it to, but the only way to prevent the destruction of the universe is to hand it over to the Nova Corps!"]
[Yongdu narrowed his eyes, opened his clothes to reveal his whistle arrow: "Maybe you think I have a devil face and an angel heart, but in fact I am consistent inside and out, kid!"]
[He stretched out his hand, "Hand it over!"]
[Star-Lord looked at Yondu and knew he had to give him an explanation. He took out a sphere from the bag behind him and put it into Yondu's hand after hesitating for a moment.]
[Yondu held the sphere with a smile on his face and waved to his men, and the plunderers immediately began to retreat.]
[Just as Yongdu turned to leave, Star-Lord called him.]
["Yondu! Don't open that ball, you know, Right? You've seen its power!"]
[Yondu raised his lips slightly, pointed at Star-Lord, said nothing, and walked away with a smile.]
[They returned to their spaceship and looked at Star-Lord and others who were still on the ground. Kraglin stood beside Yondu and said, "Yeah! Quill is a talent! We were hired to kidnap him, luckily we didn't hand him over to his father!"]
["Yeah! That guy is such a scumbag!" Yondu agreed. After learning what the bastard Ego had done to those kids, Yondu refused to work for him anymore.]
[Watching the Blood Eagle leave, Star-Lord said calmly: "If he finds out that the ball I gave him was swapped, he will be furious!"]
[Star-Lord then took out the sphere that actually contained the Power Stone.]
[Gamora couldn't help but laugh when she saw this. She knew that Star-Lord would not give the Power Stone to Yondu.]
["He'll come and kill you, Quill!"]
["Oh! I know! But he's my only family!"]
[Hearing this, Gamora placed her hands on Star-Lord's hands and shook her head at him, "No! Not the only one!"]
[Star-Lord looked at her and smiled.]
[Rocket found Groot's body among the branches scattered on the ground, holding his hands and sobbing with a sad face.]
[Drax came and sat down beside him, watching Rocket crying and coughing, and couldn't help but put his hand on his head and stroked it.]
[This action made Rocket pause, but he finally accepted Drax's touch.]
