[In the grand hall, on the balcony where he was being strangled to death, Thor suddenly opened his eyes. But they were different now—no longer filled with pain and desperation, but with understanding and purpose.]
Hela still had her hand wrapped around his throat, squeezing the life from him. She leaned in close and repeated her mocking question with cruel satisfaction:
"Tell me, brother! What kind of god are you? What is your purpose?"
[Listening to Hela's ridicule, to her contemptuous words, blue-white lightning slowly began to appear in Thor's hands. It started as small sparks, then grew into crackling arcs of pure electrical energy that danced across his fingers.]
[Hela noticed his transformation keenly, her eyes widening slightly in surprise. But she didn't have time to react, didn't have time to pull back or defend herself.]
A brilliant blue-white light flashed in Thor's remaining eye, glowing with divine power. The sky above Asgard was instantly covered by massive dark clouds that rolled in from nowhere, blotting out the sun. Hela, sensing something extremely unusual, something dangerous, suddenly looked up at the roiling sky above them.
"Hahhhhhhhh!!!" Thor roared with all his might, his voice carrying the fury of storms. An extremely thick lightning bolt—wider than a building—fell from the sky directly toward them.
[A blazing white light brighter than a thousand suns enveloped the entire realm of Asgard, and then the entire balcony was obliterated by the largest, most powerful lightning strike in recorded history. The ancient stone and metal vaporized under the incredible heat and energy.]
[Even the two sides fighting desperately on the Rainbow Bridge far below were shocked by this terrifying display of power. Warriors on both sides stopped mid-strike and looked up in awe at the apocalyptic sight.]
[A massive bolt of lightning enveloped the entire palace complex, and the raging thunder raced across the buildings like a herd of galloping horses made of pure energy, leaving scorch marks and small fires in its wake.]
After Heimdall killed two more undead soldiers with a powerful sweep of Hofund, he looked up at this grand, magnificent scene and felt a wave of relief wash over him. His prince had awakened. Thor had finally understood.
[Under the massive, devastating impact of the lightning strike, Hela was blown away by the tremendous force. Her body was sent flying like a ragdoll, and she fell toward the bottom of the palace, tumbling through the air.]
[On the bridge below, Loki watched the display of power with satisfaction. The corners of his mouth curled up slightly into a knowing smile. He knew without a doubt that his brother had finally awakened to his true nature!]
Thor leaped from the ruined balcony of the palace and descended toward the Rainbow Bridge with the full power of thunder propelling him. His entire body was enveloped by countless thunderbolts that crackled and sparked around him like a living shroud of energy.
[A large number of undead soldiers saw him coming and gathered together, forming a small hill of bodies and shields as they tried to meet his assault, to overwhelm him with sheer numbers.]
[But they were absolutely nothing compared to the awakened God of Thunder. The lightning attached to Thor's body easily knocked them away like leaves before a hurricane, and then he successfully landed on the bridge with a thunderous impact. In one devastating move, with a single pulse of electrical energy, he eliminated dozens of these undead soldiers, their ancient bodies crumbling to ash.]
Thor slowly stood up from his landing crouch, blue-white electrical light lingering and dancing around his entire body in mesmerizing patterns. Even his eyeballs had turned completely white under the intensity of the lightning coursing through him, giving him an otherworldly, terrifying appearance.
Thor looked at the undead soldiers charging toward him with such force and momentum, and he showed absolutely no fear. With a single mid-air spinning kick, he knocked down the first wave of soldiers, sending them flying in all directions.
[Then he landed and rushed forward like a force of nature. The scattered electrical currents radiating from his body prevented the undead soldiers from even getting close to him—they were repelled by the raw power emanating from him.]
[Even if soldiers tried to attack from behind, thinking to catch him off guard, they were automatically knocked away by the protective field of lightning surrounding him, bounced back like insects hitting a screen.]
[On the contrary, at this moment of complete power, every single punch and kick from Thor was wrapped in devastating thunder. A single punch could usually destroy several enemies at once, their bodies exploding in bursts of electrical energy.]
[Watching Thor's powerful, awe-inspiring performance, the Commodore —which had crash-landed on the bridge in the distance—suddenly launched a large number of fireworks into the air in celebration, the colorful explosions painting the sky.]
[The undead soldiers on the other side of the bridge noticed this display and rushed over with swords raised, determined to stop the celebration and slaughter the refugees.]
Valkyrie emerged to meet them, walking toward the charging soldiers with a confident, warrior's stride. She held her Dragon Tooth Sword at the ready, and with two casual but expertly placed strikes, she cut the two leading undead soldiers cleanly in half at the waist, their bodies falling in pieces.
[In the churning sea far below, facing the massive wolfhound that pounced on him once again, Hulk reached out fearlessly with both massive green hands and grabbed Fenrir's upper and lower jaws, stopping the bite cold.]
[Then he roared directly into the beast's face, punched it hard right between the eyes, grabbed its entire head in both hands, and flipped the giant wolf over his shoulder with raw strength.]
Loki also fully utilized his unique melee mage skills in the ongoing battle. At this moment, he had taken off his distinctive horned helmet and held it in his hand as an improvised weapon.
After dodging a sneak attack from behind with an elegant aerial backbend, his body arching like a gymnast, Loki smashed his heavy metal helmet against the attacker's feet, tripping the soldier up. After finishing the fallen enemy off with a single precise sword thrust through the neck, Loki casually tossed the helmet up and caught it, then placed it back on his head with a flourish.
Thor continued to display his awakened divine power in spectacular fashion. He stretched out one hand toward a group of soldiers, and a bolt of concentrated lightning burst forth from his palm like a beam weapon. It struck an undead soldier, lifted him into the air, and flung him backward into his companions.
[Then Thor attacked with both hands simultaneously, unleashing twin streams of lightning that knocked down two more undead soldiers. He grabbed another soldier by the armor, leaped high into the air while carrying it, then threw the helpless enemy downward, using it as a projectile to hit and scatter several other undead soldiers below.]
[At the same time, several massive bolts of lightning fell from the dark clouds above, striking down like the wrath of heaven and hitting several undead soldiers nearby who were attempting to flank Thor. They were reduced to smoking husks instantly.]
Thor bent down and grabbed two swords from fallen soldiers, one in each hand. With the blessing of his thunder and lightning flowing through the metal, the two ordinary swords became virtually indestructible, glowing with blue-white energy. In this way, wielding these enhanced weapons, Thor cut through all obstacles before him like a farmer harvesting wheat, eliminating all the enemies who rushed toward him with fluid, devastating strikes.
Skurge watched Thor approaching, getting closer and closer, an unstoppable force. He looked down at the Tiamat Axe in his hands—his weapon, his symbol of power under Hela. He hesitated for a long moment, conflict clear on his face, and then made his choice. He threw the axe away, letting it clatter to the bridge surface, and raised his empty hands in surrender.
[Korg roared with battle fury and fired his rifle continuously at approaching enemies while Heimdall and Valkyrie also systematically eliminated their respective opponents, working together like a well-oiled machine.]
[In the turbulent sea below, Fenrir had recovered and climbed back up onto Hulk. The massive wolf bit down hard on Hulk's legs with its powerful jaws, then shook its head violently, throwing Hulk's entire body in the air several times like a chew toy before smashing him down into the water with tremendous force.]
[The sharp fangs pierced deep into Hulk's thick green skin, successfully breaking through his normally impenetrable defense. Green blood immediately began to flow from the puncture wounds, staining the water.]
Hulk roared in intense, rage-inducing pain and punched Fenrir as hard as he possibly could, right on the top of the beast's skull.
How powerful was the Hulk in his full rage? This single punch, fueled by anger and pain, directly hit Fenrir's head with such force that it snapped the wolf's neck back at an unnatural angle. The giant beast was lifted high up out of the water by the impact, and then it fell backward uncontrollably, its body limp.
[It just so happened that they had drifted close to the edge of the great waterfall that cascaded off the edge of Asgard into the void. Fenrir immediately tumbled over the edge and fell from it, disappearing into the endless darkness below with a fading howl. Meanwhile, Hulk luckily managed to grab onto the rocks beside the waterfall's edge, his fingers digging into the stone to anchor himself.]
-Real World-
"Whoa! That was fierce fighting! The clash of cold weapons at its finest!" Star-Lord praised enthusiastically, leaning forward in his seat. Although he didn't quite understand why close combat was necessary when they had perfectly good guns available, he still had to admit that it was indeed incredibly exciting to watch. "Very dramatic!"
"That Thor has fully awakened to his power! Can he actually fight Hela now?" Tony asked, hope evident in his voice. He looked directly at Thor for an answer.
Thor still shook his head slowly, his expression somber. "No! That version of me is just like I was when I first awakened on the Quinjet. I can fight Carol for a while, hold my own, but I can't hold on for long and will eventually be defeated! I'm still no match for Hela at that level!"
"Yeah! That Hela's power is not that simple or straightforward!" Captain Marvel confirmed, nodding in agreement. She had fought with Thor many times in training, so she naturally knew exactly what level Thor's power was at during this stage of his development.
After all, the Thor being shown on the screen had not yet completely survived the destruction of Asgard, had not yet obtained Stormbreaker, and had not fully mastered his abilities. So his strength, while impressive, was not yet enough to defeat Captain Marvel in a serious fight—and certainly not enough to defeat Hela.
"Okay! I thought he was finally strong enough to turn the tide!" Tony said with evident disappointment, feeling a little helpless. He had genuinely thought Thor was now powerful enough to decisively fight and win!
"He should be able to fight Hela before she returned to Asgard—back when they first met, when she was still relatively weak," Thor explained. "But he will never be able to defeat Hela while she's in Asgard itself! Her self-healing ability is maximized here, empowered by the realm! She's essentially unkillable on Asgardian soil!"
Natasha nodded thoughtfully and also expressed her tactical opinion, "That's the key weakness in any plan—the home field advantage she has is too significant to overcome with raw power alone."
Wanda nodded in complete agreement with their analysis.
Seeing Skurge drop his axe on the screen, Rhodes frowned deeply and said with obvious distaste, "Is this guy going to betray Hela now? Switch sides again? He's such a fence-sitter, always going with whoever seems to be winning."
Tony sneered cynically. "Where can he possibly escape to anyway? Even if he somehow gets on the evacuation ship and leaves Asgard, do you really think the Asgardians he's persecuted and helped oppress are going to let him go? He's delusional if he thinks he can just walk away from this."
Banner asked doubtfully, playing devil's advocate. "He didn't seem to have actually done anything too terrible, though? He even seemed very hesitant and reluctant when he was about to attack that woman earlier! Maybe he's not completely evil?"
"But this kind of person is the most hateful!" Star-Lord said with genuine disgust in his voice, his face twisting with contempt. "Because as long as you show any weakness, he will betray you without a second thought or hesitation! This kind of opportunistic person can never be trusted! They have no honor, no loyalty, no principles—just self-preservation!"
