Chapter 3 - Chapter 3

Gogeta was motionless, his teal eyes sharp and unflinching as they fastened on Janemba's glowing red ones. The field appeared to hold its breath for a brief period, the atmosphere thick with anxiety. Gogeta moved then in a split second that defied understanding. Almost unnoticed, his hand grasping the neck of the volatile creation stiffly, he emerged at Janemba's side. Gogeta hoisted Janemba off the ground with effortless power, his hands never weak together crimson eyes widening in astonishment; Janemba didn't even have time to respond.

Gogeta fired into the air without second thoughts, yanking Janemba along with him. Their sheer speed of rise caused planet Xion to become nothing more than a distant speck in seconds. Planets flashed behind them, their surfaces turned into lines of color against the darkness of space. As Gogeta flung Janemba across the void, solar systems dissolved into abstract designs and shock waves spread through the fabric of the universe itself. Gogeta tossed Janemba at length an orange, Mars-like planet below. The result was catastrophic; Janemba's body hit the ground with the power of one thousand hydrogen bombs, forming a some crater that wiped out all in its route. Vaporized instantly, strange, dinosaur-like animals that roved the earth were gone in a great heat and searing illumination flash.

With his arms crossed and a tranquil but intent expression, Gogeta floated over the wreckage. This was to him not a conflict but a research, a test of how much Janemba could take before breaking. His teal eyes gazed around the increasing debris and smoke seeking any signs of activity.

Janemba still had something left to do. The smoke started to clearforcefully driven by a burst of chaotic energy from the crater below. Janemba arose with his repulsive shape battered yet hardly vanquished. His black armor was damaged, faintly shining with evil power, and his jagged mouth twisted in a snarling grin. His red eyes seethed more fiery than ever, hate and fury undergirding them. He raced at Gogeta with a deafening roar, slashing his jagged blade haphazardly. Every slash ripped through the air with enough strength to divide worlds. From his free hand, energy explosions erupted, each one destroyed entire star systems. Gogeta, though, stayed unmoved.

He dodged every assault as though theyd been carefully planned in some universal ballet, moving with a nearly casual elegance. By little inches, Janemba's sword cuts passed wild in the void and his energy shots detonated into nothing. Frustrated, Janemba opened four portals around Gogeta, each one leading to a different angle of attack. Lunging through the portals, he struck from every anglesword slashes, burst of energy, bone-crushing flightsintended to stagger. Still, Gogeta was invincible. Every assault was parried expertly, his movements smooth and easy. At one point, Janemba's fist came crashing shot through a portal headed Gogeta's back. Gogeta grabbed the fist in his hand without even turning; his grip felt like metal.

Gogeta said simply, his voice cold and authoritative, "Enough. "

One swift movement and the bones under the great force broke delivered Janemba's fist. raises. Gogeta then reached Janemba's hand with a careful ki blade using Janemba's own portal. Dissolving into disorderly energy, the severed appendage fell to the ground.

Gogeta floated back, his arms crossed and his face calm but solemn. Rage seething, Janemba staggered back clutch at his hand stump. His rough teeth clenched together as he glared at Gogeta, his aura ragingly.

Gogeta remarked, his words heavy and certain, "I turn now. "

The vibe changed. Gogeta's aura blazed, buzzing with unrefined energy. The power around him exploded, distorting space's very fabric. Even Janemba, who had battled many times across several realms, felt a chill down his back. Even as he fought hard to stifle it, fear fluttered his soul.

Gogeta disappeared suddenly. His speed was such that even the idea of time appeared unimportant. Quadrillions of times the speed of lighthe reappeared right in front of Janemba, a feat most beings would find incredible to believe. Gogeta's fist struck Janemba in the abdomen with perfect accuracy before he could react. The damage was felt in great measure.

Janemba's body bent back, black ichor spilling from his lips and his black armor breaking. The force of the blow ripped through him and produced a shockwave that wiped out the mountain range behind him. The earth below them turned to liquid, ripples on the surface of the planet as water rolled forward to create a very big crater. Janemba's body was cascaded uncontrollably among the void as he was launched into space.

Gogeta, however, was not done. Janemba was stopped around halfway through the air, hanging like a puppet on invisible strings, thanks to a flick of his wrist driven by his ki control. Rising hand, teal Gogeta's eyes glowed brilliantly. Energy began to gather in the palm of his hand, growing a spinning vortex of blue and yellow light growing in every breathless moment. The next stars fell as if they were in shock.

Gogeta calmly and resolutely said "Stardust Fall. "

Flashing his hand forward, he let the light's intense beam take energy. The strike was never before witnessed in the universe: a blast of supernova intensity wholly destroying Janemba. Against the enormous scale of the blast, the little orange planet below appeared extremely small. The meet bent reality itself as shockwaves rippled across space.

Barely floating among the chaos, Gogeta surrounded himself with a golden ki shield. The barrier allowed him to nonchalantly however vigorously observe the devastation happening and breathe openly in empty space. When the light eventually faded, Janemba's body floated in fragments; his black armor destroyed his shape reduced to sharp pieces. There was yet more fight left.

Propelled by an unseen force, the parts began to almost imperceptibly converge. Janemba's body reconstructed itself; his unattractive form gradually returned very much like a puzzle comes together. In seconds he would total again, transformed. Once black, his polished titanium metal white armor now shown. White lightning raced around him; his pulses were sparkling with energy. Once formerly capricious and unstable, his presence was now intense, focused, and extremely powerful.

Gogeta's lips curled just a bit; his teal eyes narrowed with enthusiasm. Amazing. Now, let us have true combat. " Faster and more accurate than ever, Janemba lunged at Gogeta. As he brandished his jagged sword, now in glinting metallic white, rays of white-hot energy burst forth. Simon blew calmly, his motions flowing and graceful, yet the fight had clearly got more heated. With a gleam under the lighting of far-off stars, Janemba stood back metallically.

Two white energy sword came into being in his hands, their edges sizzling with black electricity. The swords twisted reality itself and turned the area around them as if unable to contain their might. Janemba powered up even more, his aura bursting out in a vortex of white and black energy. Nearby planets shook, surfaces breaking under the pressure.

After that, he went forth. Janemba's velocity was unlike any he had previously exhibited. With dazzling speed, his blades slashing through the air, he appeared before Gogeta nearly instantly. Slightly taken aback, Gogeta barely managed to block the first blow. The deflection's power sent a shock wave traveling across space, slicing through many remote planets like a hot knife through butter.

"OK," Gogeta said chuckling. "Still, you'll have to do more than that. "

Gogeta spun into a 180-degree kick with a fluid motion, his foot aimed straight at Janemba's head. Just in time, Janemba ducked and the kick brushed the top of his metal helm. Janemba swung his second sword at Gogeta without stopping to hit him in half. Gogeta, however, was all set.

His hand shining with golden energy, he seized the sword mid-swing and kept it upright. Janemba's eyes widened in stagger, but he wasn't done yet. The sword in his other hand turned into a clear white sphere of energy shot with black lightning. Janemba formed two portals by Gogeta; a wicked smile crept over his face. From point-blank range the energy pulse shot for him first portal released white ball. Behind Gogeta, the second portal opened to allow Janemba to step through already kicking his leg fiercely.

Gogeta, however, was quicker. He snapped the white sword in his hand with a quick movement, the parts vanishing into energy. Finally, he spun about and kicked the white orb away; the explosion burst innocently far off. Janemba came from the second door; Gogeta grabbed his leg mid-kick and his hold felt ironclad.

"Gogeta snapped, his voice dripping contemptuously.

Gogeta slammed his knee down upon Janemba's leg with a savage movement, the noise of broken bones resonating throughout the void. though in agony Janemba's face writhed, he still wasn't done. He let loose a white energy beam from his mouth with a roar, the strike striking Gogeta point-blank and causing large explosion.

Blinding, a sphere of white energy that devoured all in its way, exploded. When the smoke cleared, Gogeta floated gently in the void, his body somewhat scratched but otherwise unscathed. His face however had changed. The lighthearted grin had vanished; a serious, determined gaze now exists.

"All right," Gogeta murmured, menacingly. "You have my full attention. "

Janemba panted, his metal white shape flickering a little while he regenerates his broken leg. Though his eyes seared with fury, there was a hint of something different. Janemba knew one thing for sure despite his recent power: Gogeta was stronger than he had expected.

For half a second, the battlefield was eerily stillthe sort of silence that comes before a storm. Once more Gogeta's crimson eyes gleamed red and glistened. There was one brief moment when it appeared like time had frozen by itself. Then, too fast for most creatures to notice, they both shiftedpunches aimed right at one other's faces.

There was no competition, though. First Gogeta's fist connected, breaking through Janemba's jumbled defenses like glass. Something remarkable occurred even before Janemba's own punch started to brush Gogeta's cheek. With arcs of electric sparks snapping around him, the Saiyan half-breed exploded into Super Saiyan 2, his golden hair spiking furiously. Janemba's hand was destroyed by the raw power of his transformation on impact, sending shockwaves ripples outward across space. Strong energy coming from Gogeta's aura disturbed planets many light-years away and caused their orbits to deviate.

Returning to Planet Xion.

Piccolo - "This is beyond anything I could even imagine"

His voice tingling irritably as he exhaled forcefully.

Piccolo - "Gogeta. . . Is this what true perfection is? If so, then we're all very far behind. "

Gohan: "That's Gogeta. But how can one individualor two working togetherhave this much power? "

Gohan: "We have trained for years, driven ourselves to our utmost. . . and yet, this seems like a totally different life stage. "

(Gotenks has diffused by now)

Goten - "Whoa, that's Dad and Vegeta, right? Please wait, noGogeta! "

Trunks nodded, his voice wavering some.

Trunk - "I knew they were strong, but this. . . this is madness. It's as if nothing else we have seen before. "

Goten swallowed hard in an attempt to regain his composure.

Goten - Could you think we ever get there?

Trunks hesitated, his gaze aimed at the horizon from which the power emanated.

maybe someday. First, though, we must grow mentally and physically. This is not only brute strength; it is mastery. "

Krillin stopped in the middle of a punch on his beach solo exercise on Earth. Turning his face toward the heavens, his jaw fell when the far energy burst hit him. Android 18 approached tentatively and observed her husband's response with sharp eyes narrowed.

Krillin - "I've never before felt something like this. . . "

Android 18 crossed her arms unmissed but interested.

Android 18: "You people are very easily astounded. Still, I will give credit; that is inspirational.

Krillin shook his head as he still peered upwards.

Playing close by, marron turned questioningly at her mother.

Marron - "Mom, Dad, is everything all right? "

Krillin ruffled her hair softly as he knelt down.

Krillin: "Nothing to worry about, darling. " Something major is happening outside there just now. "

Deep inside Earth's mountains, Tien gazed motionlesshis three eyes wide with shock. Chiaotzu floated alongside him, shaking a bit.

Tien - This is control, not just power. This is really legendary stuff. "

With a mix of terror and respect, Chiaotzu nodded quietly; his little body shook.

Chiaotzu - "It's overpowering,. . . like gazing into the sun. "

Tien clenched his fists, his pride blazing.

Tien states that if we want to save this planetand every living thing on itwe must push ourselves more than ever before.

Yamcha was honing his Lunar Howl technique in the desert when the energy surge threw him off.

Almost losing his balance, he tripped as the strength of it swept over him. He stared astounded.

Yamcha - "What the. . . " That's far beyond any feeling I've ever had! Who on earth could be that powerful? "

Rising above for a minute to look, he thought, but then reality snapped him down.

Yamcha: "I suppose some things never change. " No matter how determinedly I work, there will always be someone leagues ahead of me. "

Still, his eyes showed will.

The energy surge made the lights flicker as Bulma toiled late in her laboratory at Capsule Corporation. Shielding her eyes, she walked outside and looked up at the stars.

Bulma: "What in heavens' name is happening out there? "

Immediately she started thinking about Vegeta.

Bulma: "That moron had best not be engaging in something rash once more. "

Though she was irritated, a touch of pride wiggled into her grin.

Bulma: Still, if somebody can manage it, it is him. And Goku also, I reckon. "

In the Otherworld.

Frieza: "What kind of crazy energy is this? Absolutely not those Saiyan monkeys again! "

Cell, standing close, smiled smugly.

Cells- It seems like until we last met them they were even more astute really rather handy.

Frieza growled and threw his glass against the armrest.

Frieza - "Amazing? Please, you are not really having fun with this! "

Cell laughed grimly.

Cell could say: "Oh, come now, Frieza. " Own up you are also interested. All things considered, if they continue to drive themselves in this manner, who knows what kind of havoc they will cause next?

Up in Paradise.

King Kai observed the events playing out in Heaven's quiet fields with mounting agitation. Gregory and Bubbles stood next him, totally enthralled.

King Kai - "This energy. . . never before seen. " Even their past fight, let along those of Goku and Vegeta. "

Gregory: "Will they live this one, do you wonder? "

King Kai sighed, straightening his spectacles.

King Kai - "Oh yes, knowing those two they will likely discover a way to prevail. " Still, it is disquieting. Such power could unsettle everything's equilibrium. "

Returning to the conflict inside the space vacuum.

Stumbling back, Janemba grips the broken arm stump. Black ichor floated weightlessly in the vacuum of space, mingled with bits of his metallic white armor. As he released a loud screamsoundless howls reverberating through the emptinessthe ugly shape of him twitched with fury. Intent on reversing the tide, Janemba launched yet another terrible burst of devastation. Hundreds of portals surrounded Gogeta on all sides, formed by just a single swipe through the air.

Unlimited versions of Janemba (not copy's of him, only Janemba moving THAT fast) came from these portals, each wielding a freshly created white ki blade and firing barrage upon barrage of punches, kicks, energy socks, and slashes. The strikes were omnipresent and apparently impossible to avoid from all points. Still, Gogeta was completely unperturbed, arms folded as if none of it were important.

Eventually Gogeta waved his wrist with a disdainful flick of his wrist. The gesture set off a huge shockwave that ripped every portal like tissue paper. The resultant pressure forced Janemba back, his body thrown helplessly across space. Gogeta floated peacefully amid the debris, his face unchanged when the dust settled.

Gogeta - "Predictable. "

Janemba snarled, his eyes red with rage. Bloodied and possibly broken, he would not give wayyet even he recognized the reality underneath. Victory against this enemy was no longer available.

Gogeta, don't get sad yet! ".

The words resonated across the vacuum with the noise of thunder, fierce and uncompromising. Frozen mid-scream, Janemba's repulsively shape quaked as he gazed at Gogeta, who stood cool but radiating an overwhelming power. Then Gogeta suddenly threw back his head in a primal scream that rocked the very essence of space. His golden hair started to get longer, spiking spontaneously as electric bolts shot about him. Though the change happened instantaneously, it felt endless; every second dragged into infinity as power pulsed through every strand of his body.

Shifting to a determined green, his teal eyes glowed with an alien light. The force of his energy broke the ground under him, and shock waves spread out in all direction, destroying spaced asteroids and setting them spiraling toward nothing. As pure energy surged through him, his muscles stiffened, veins obviously bulging against his skin. Super Saiyan 3 had come, and it was more than a power levelthey were a statement of supremacy.

Janemba's red eyes expanded in horror. Not for the first time since their war started there was no arrogance, no boldnessonly urgency. Janemba screamed gutturously and released every bit of his wild energy, driving himself backward at velocities greater than ever. Still, even as he flew, he lashed one final time, throwing many planets Gogeta to bury him beneath their total weight.

Watching disinterestedly as the celestial bodies raced toward him, Gogeta let his voice blades cut through the pandemonious noise.

Gogeta: "This is not all! "

Gogeta let lose a burst of energy so great with one forward step that it halted the approaching planets dead in their tracks. Unable to bear the weight of his aura, they floated uneasily for a second before returning to their starting point. The galaxies shook in his wake, stars dimmed, the universe itself appeared to recoil from his enormity of power.

Going one step forward, Gogeta let out such a powerful energy burst that it halted the already close planets squarely in their paths. Unable to endure the force of his aura, they floated still for a moment before turning to dust. The very scale of his power made the universe itself recoil, stars dimming and galaxies shaking.

Gogeta then drew a deep breath, his chest expanding as though inviting in the total world. He balled his fists and shook his body for constrained power. Red started to trickle into his golden halo, swirling and building until it exploded into a fiery inferno of gold and red.

Gogeta: Kaioken Times 20X! ! !''

The dual-colored aura burst out dramatically and surpassing everything around him. Its size rivaled that of a whole country; it spanned the void like a supernova. Ripples cascaded across the universe as the shockwave destroyed all traces of debris. Even at quadrillions times the speed of light, Janemba fleeing felt the aftershocks of this latest energy surge.

Reactivity throughout the universe

Piccolo---

Piccolo's three eyes grew wide in complete astonishment.

Piccolo: "Wha--? "

Gohan, a

Gohan stumbled back, his eyeglasses falling off his nose.

Gohan - "Wha--? ! This is not possible! "

Gotenkivisque

Goten's jaw dropped, his young face pale from amazement.

Goten "Ack! "

Androïda 18

Instinctively, Android 18 stepped back on Earth; her usually calm demeanor gave way to wide-eyed horror.

Android 18: "What. . . What IS he?!"

Three dark shapes leaned forward around a table reminiscent of the curve of a galaxy in a dimension beyond human understanding. One voice spoke echoing and distorted.

 ? ? ? - "Enough. This must stop and run. "

A different person slammed their hand on the table, sending cracks to spidercover its top.

? ? ? - "Mortals have gone too far. Such powers shouldn't belong in their sphere.

For a second the third figure stayed quiet, their bright eyes scanning the unfolding scene below. At length, they spoke, cool and considerate in their delivery.

? ? ? - "If left unchecked, they will unravel the balance of life itself. We need to act.

Gogeta moved forward, his speed so great that reality creaked in protest. Cracks in the fabric of space appeared, shards of glass that snapped back into place. Stars warped and planets stuttered in their orbits as he closed the distance between himself and Janemba in a split second.

Gogeta stopped Janemba in mid-air with a flick of his wrist. The berserk beast was frozen, its thrashing unable to get even an inch of purchase as it flailed wildly to break free of the ki holding it in place. Its corrupted form twitched wildly, veins blazing brighter than ever before as it strained against the power constricting it.

Gogeta stood before him, his face expressionless. His voice was low but final.

Gogeta - "It's over. I won't let you evolve anymore."

He raised both hands, energy crackling around them as two classic methods began to form. In one hand the blue glow of Kamehameha, in the other the multicolored swirl of Stardust Breaker. The energies combined into one beam unlike anything previously seen, a rainbow Kamehameha infused with the otherworldly beauty and power of Stardust Breaker.

The attack burst from Gogeta's fists, a concentrated blast of power that shredded the emptiness like a spear through the universe. It reached Janemba in a moment, engulfing the fiendish beast in a rainbow of light and energy. There was no chance to react; the sheer force of the attack sent Janemba beyond the universe itself. The explosion that followed was like the Big Bang—blinding, all-encompassing and yet eerily silent. No one could feel or sense such power as it was on a scale above the mortal comprehension. In an instant, Janemba was no more, his existence removed from the universe as if he never was.

But where Janemba had stood, another form appeared—a teenager, human-like but obviously not, with red skin and wearing Earth clothes covered in pop culture icons. A headset was over his ears and his eyes were wide in panic as he struggled to breathe in space. Panic set in as he clawed at his throat, his body convulsing.

Before the boy could succumb, Gogeta appeared beside him, now in his base form. With effortless precision, he enveloped the stranger in a protective cocoon of ki, allowing him to breathe. Without hesitation, Gogeta extended his free hand, summoning a portal that led directly to King Kai's planet. He gave the boy a gentle push toward the swirling gateway.

King Kai appeared on the other side, his face aglow with incredulity as he watched the boy fly through. Before he could protest, Gogeta gazed down upon the deity, his tone strict but unruffled.

Gogeta - "Deal with this yourself."

King Kai let out a vocal groan, head shaking as the portal shut with a resounding crash behind the boy. His expression shifted from incredulity to exasperation as he swore under his breath.

King Kai - "No… you wouldn't do that…"

Gogeta With a blur of motion, he vanished, hurtling through space at impossible speeds towards Planet Xion.

Gogeta raced toward Planet Xion as if he were a shooting star, his glowing yellow light dispersing the gloomy sky. The area shook under his feet when step by step, he made it collide with a sound loud enough to be heard in the echoes of the surroundings, and a cloud of dust and debris rose that covered everything. And a revelation, the form stood in front of them, glowing, and had an ethereal presence. Suddenly, but without warning, the fusion disappeared.

Goku and Vegeta literally appeared where Gogeta was just at the last moment, their bodies looked very miserable presumably owing to the previous clash. Both of them almost fell off their feet due to the extreme fatigue they were experiencing. Goku in a close call managed to stabilize himself before collapsing into the dust whereas Vegeta although barely managed to stand up yet staggered and breathed with difficulty.

Rest of the Z Warriors sprinted toward them, worry painted on their faces. First to speak, Piccolo's powerful voice pierced the air.

Piccolo - "You two seem like you've been across hello."

Goku laughed softly, scratching behind his head.

Goku - Yeah, something else. But not to fear; we won. "

Trunks came forward with amazed eyes.

trunks - "Dad! What happened out there? "

Vegeta grinned, stood straight despite his tired. Even now, his pride will keep him from looking weak.

Vegeta - "Nothing Importante, Janemba is gone--for good now. " Not even a molecule of him persists. Let us regard it as a further win for the Prince of all Saiyans simply. "

Recognizing the typical arrogance of Vegeta, Gohan raised a brow but decided to say nothing. He turned to Goku rather.

Gohan - "How did you all pull it off? I've never experienced anything of that magnitude. "

Goku sighed sorry and his typical relaxed spirit descended even though he was exhausted.

Goku - "it wasn't easy; We had to force ourselves more than ever. Fusion certainly assisted, but Janemba also changed. He was more hardy than we had anticipated.

Trunks crossed his arms, most like his dad.

Trunks - "So what made him so powerful? Did he have some sort of new form or something? "

Thoughtfully, Goku nodded.

Goku - "Somewhat. With every blow we landed he would emerge more forceful. It was as if several iterations of him were battling simultaneously. Yet in the end we solved it!

Bulma's shuttle waited near by once the menace had passed. Clearly irritated by the condition of her husband and Goku, she came up hands-on hips.

Bulma - "Honestly, you two seem awful. Collapse inside. I didn't create this vessel to serve as a hospital bed.

Vegeta glared at her and said nothing; he was too tired to argue. Goku smiled rather sheepishly as the ship was boarded. The team started settling in for the trip back to Earth as the engines howled and the ship rose into orbit.

Returning, Bulma threw a big party at Capsule Corporation to mark their conquest of Janemba. Virtually every Person Bulma Knew was there, filling the complex with live discussion, food, and laughter.

Leaning in the wall

At one party corner, Yamcha and Tien covered their most recent training schedule.

Yamcha: "I have been developing my Lunar Howl technique. If I may say so myself, things are getting rather harsh.

Tien: "That's fantastic, Yamcha. Improvements have also been found in my Tri-Beam Barrage. Chiaotzu's telekinesis is now fatally accurate. "

Closeby, Krillin showed Gohan his Tidal Wave Fist, which he observed closely.

Krillin - "See how each punch builds on the last? It meant to overpower rivals simply with brute strength. "

Gohan: "Krillin is not too bad. Appears to me that you have been working hard.

Trunks and Goten were having a friendly yard spar which displayed dazzling energy blasts and midair maneuvers. Goku observed with a delighted smile, now and then giving them thumbs up.

Goku - Keep going, boys, One day you will both be unstoppable!"

Observing silently, Vegeta stood off side. He just laughed when questioned on his own training.

Vegeta: "If I told half of what I've achieved, none of you could keep up with me. Let us end there. "

Chi-Chi talked vivaciously with Videl and Bulma on subjects ranging from family life to fashion trends.

Chi-Chi - "For real, bringing up these Saiyan youngsters is exhausting. Always practicing, never attending to their studies. &">'.

Videl laughed, turning to Gohan.

Videl-Therefore, Sigmatic. Pan is already learning from her father bad habits.

Knowingly, Bulma sipped her drink.

Bulma - "And I assume I did it hard with Vegeta here. At least Trunks is not always blowing up anything more. "

Android 18 and Piccolo were talking about the fight against Janemba.

Piccolo - "Even I struggle to grasp the level of power Gogeta attained. It's practically. . . "unnatural. "&rnd;

Android 18 says, "Unnatural or not, it saved all of us. Still, I wonder how long it will be until another even stronger individual shows up.

Midway, Goku shrugged nonaffectedly and followed suit.

Thinking of it, perhaps we will discover sooner than we imagine. Goku - "Who knows? We will deal with it as it develops either way.

Friendships grew and relationships deepened with the passing of the evening. Even people who seldom interacted found something in common. Nodding in approval, Korin carefully saw Yajirobe exhibit his Bean Bomb technique.

Korin - "Well, well. Seems like you have at long last found some good application for those senzu beans.

Yajirobe - "Hey, don't be so surprised. I have promise, remember?

Though no one believed a word of it, in another corner Master Roshi kept Launch and Oolong amused with grandiose stories of his youth.

&;quot;Once upon a time, I knocked down whole armies on my own! &;quot; Master Roshi said.

Launch - "Sure you did, elderly man. "

Launch's return at the party was, to say the last, startling. Her name seldom surfaced beyond wistful recollections of early exploits; for years she had been missing from the world of the Z Fighters and their group. Still a bit reserved among former acquaintances, she started to shed some light on her missing during dinner tonight.

It all went back to the turbulent times when Goku was first introduced to Tien Shinhan, Chiaotzu, and the others by Master Roshi during his training. Even if accidentally, launch had become a vital feature of their group dynamic given her two charactersone gentle and humane, the other hot and unstable. Still, things changed from when she felt really sorry for herself after King Piccolo's defeat and the subsequent calm followed.

Her changes activated by sneezing made living a normal existence hard for her. The "bad" Launch occasionally got into difficulties via small theft or confrontations with the police, whereas the "good" Launch battled to keep her darker half in check. This inner struggle became great with time. Weary of being regarded as erratic or dangerous, she chose to distance herself from everyone in hopes of saving herself, and others, further grief.

Launch travelled the globe for years in search of grounding. Living silently in isolated communities, she took little employment and stayed away from anything that could provoke her sneezes. Sometimes there were rumors about her sightingsblue-haired lady assisting needy tourists or causing trouble in busy marketsbut no one could establishwhereabouts. Some thought she simply moved on, abandoning the world of warfare and martial arts entirely.

But for a random meeting with Yamcha, she would still be away now. Yamcha found her totally by chance as he was going through a desert village close West City. He hardly saw her first; her features had changed somewhat and she appeared more restrained than previously. Once Yamcha kindly bowed, she realized how sorry she was cutting off all communications particularly given Tien, who had once loving her much in spite of her personality

Launch felt bad about having disappeared without a word and accepted Yamcha's invitation to go to Bulma's party. Though she was a bit nervous to meet well-known faces after being so long, she couldn't ignore the attraction of nostalgia or the wish of reuniting with people who knew her difficulties more than anybody else.

Launch stood awkwardly by the buffet table at the get-together, messing around with a punch glass. Tien eventually came to her, his customary stoic attitude somewhat relaxed.

Tien - it has been a long time, Launch.

Launch looked up, startled but obviously moved.

Launching: "Tien… I was not sure you would recall me. "

Tien - "How could I forget, you were part of something essential to me; indeed, many of us. ".

Though little signs of guilt remained on her face, she grinned barely so.

Launch: "I realize I ran off without saying farewell. I thought it was for the best, but perhaps I was wrong after all.

Before Tien could answer, Krillin interjected with a grin of mischief.

Krillin: "Hey, don't sweat it; we have missed your antics around here. Promise just not to rob any banks while you're back. "

Launch chuckled quietly, shaking head.

Give rise to "No guarantees, but I will attempt to act. "

somewhere else.

The outline of a once-vibrant metropolis now lay in ruins in a different reality, one wracked by disorder and hopelessness. Towers lay in pieces like broken bones; their skeletal remains protrusion against the darkening horizon. Smoke curled into the air and suffocated the atmosphere with ruin and ash. Underneath, the ground was covered with remnants of lives violently destroyed, broken glass, and debris.

A shape from above sankan object whose sheer presence alone appeared to bend space all about itself. Almost nonexistent stood what little did in his way; his ki roared mightily, a menacing power that crushed everything. This guy had clothing that reminded one of Goku Black: a trim, close-fitting black gi with red sashes at the waist and wrists. Though it felt more like mockery than honor given the carnage surrounding him, a golden emblema kanji symbol of justicewas emblazoned on his chest. As he touched down, his boots softly clicked on the broken street, but the sheer strength of his presencea blazing violet fire that crackled and snapped, distorting the air itselfdrowned out the sound.

Rising straight, his hair was jet-black except for silver stripes in it, which made him seem otherworldly. Though his eyes were slightly red like a evil version of Goku, they had none of the friendly malice or conceit usually connected with the bad guy. These eyes burned with cool resolve, relentless will, and something more that simmering rage softened by grief. It was anger driven by loss, betrayal, and maybe even remorse, not of contempt.
