Chapter 239 - Second Battle

After Rope said that, the whole meal went tasteless. All the food turned into the flavor of sour tree fruits...

When there was nothing to see here, the atmosphere of the entire banquet hall had been changed by Rope. I can only say that watching is still a human instinct!

The banquet ended hastily, and then Rope ushered in the second match.

Seriously, there really isn't much to say about the League conference. After all, there are basically no opponents that Rope can actually fight against, and the League is not even as difficult as the gym battles.

Rope was also yawning in boredom after the passion he felt at the beginning receded.

He hadn't slept well last night.

It definitely wasn't because of any lack of nightly talks with Cynthia. Was Rope that shallow? He had spent last night thinking about what exactly would and would be messing around in the Sinnoh region.

He remembered that Snow and Vision had said that Servants of God's headquarters was in Sinnoh, which was understandable, after all, their bosses' names were all Arceus, so it was only natural that their headquarters would be in Sinnoh.

But were Servants of God thinking of turning over now?

Wasn't their main goal plate? Why would they suddenly be ready to start messing things up straight away?

This doesn't seem to be the same as their current goal.

So... is it some other organization?

Rope pondered suspiciously.

So he really didn't sleep well last night...

Arriving at the arena, his opponent was already waiting for him somewhere.

On one side of the audience sat Cynthia and Daisy.

There were fewer people today all of a sudden. It was normal, after all, this was already the second match. Generally speaking, only the first and last matches were more important. And there wasn't really any essential difference between coming or not coming to the other matches.

After all, Rope is not like the other players who don't know how far they can go, Rope is the one who is basically sure that he is going to be in the finals from the very beginning. So after everyone watched the opening ceremony and the first match, they did their own thing and then prepared to wait until Rope reached the finals and then the closing ceremony started.

After all, does everyone have a job.

Champions are still busy.

As for Cynthia... Lucian was busy, so she'd be free.

Rope's opponent is an older looking young man with glasses. His name was Irido and he was a trainer from the Hoenn region. He looked at this opponent in front of him and held up his glasses, "Your Excellency is the player who was rumored to have a whole bunch of champions Elite Four Gym Leader professor to support him yesterday, right?"

Rope scratched his head when he heard this.

This is being rumored like crazy? But judging by the reaction...it shouldn't look like a good reputation. It's not going to make me out to be some second generation, is it?

Emm, I really am a second generation... that's fine then...

"Yes, it's me!"

Rope answered naturally, there's no point in hiding this kind of thing...

There's no point in hiding something like this...

Irido held his eyes again, and then looked up to see the audience.

There weren't too many people in the auditorium. After all, it was already the second day of the tournament, and the contestants were already half as few. The audience could also narrow down their choices.

And Rope's reputation, for starters, good or bad, eventually got out. It's always going to attract some kind of audience.

And Cynthia, Daisy, Ash, Whitley, and Wallace, the five of them headed for the audience. Their perimeter empties out.

After all, even though the Champion and the Gym Leader are so close to the people. People are always in awe of them. If you approach them casually, you won't be seen on one side.

It's more normal to ask for a photo and then silently move away.

Irido lingered on Wallace's figure for a while longer before looking at Rope once again and saying, "I will defeat you!"

His tone was firm and confident. It also vaguely revealed a hint of hostility.

Rope sensed this and then silently began to use his 'Heart Flame' to sense this opponent's emotions.

Unsurprisingly, he found a violent emotion.

Rope immediately frowned, he didn't know what was in the mind of this person in front of him, but he knew that he had to be careful when commanding this one...he wouldn't be very surprised by any moves used by a vicious and violent person.

And at that moment in the audience, Wallace looked at Irido and revealed a thoughtful look, and after a moment said, "So it's him!"

Cynthia turned her head to look at Wallace and asked, "You know that player named Irido?"

Daisy, Ash, and Whitley's eyes all looked towards Wallace as well.

Wallace nodded and said, "I know, a very interesting little guy, very talented in Pokémon Contest, but because he is from a civilian background, so really, he didn't get good teaching, so he is still a bit rough in terms of technique. But that way it also came out on a path not too different from ours."

Cynthia and Daisy were both a little surprised to hear that. After all, to make Wallace, who was a Pokémon Contest Master, say such words, then the Pokémon Contest talent and spirituality in this trainer must be emotionally powerful is all.

"Then this match should be something to watch?"

Cynthia said with a bit more emotion.

To be honest, yesterday's match was really meaningless, Chimchar had a stick, and a 3v3 match was quickly ended in a series of three.

The opponent had pulled out a big pincer crab and was almost made into a roasted crab.

I can only say that Rope is really capitalizing on underestimating his opponent.

However, Rope wasn't very relaxed today, after all, he wasn't really sure what this person in front of him was going to do.

"Will both contestants please release the Pokémon!"

"Come out Gastly!"

"Gah-hiss!"

As soon as the referee's words left his mouth, Rope threw the Pokéball in his hand. With a flash of white light, Gastly appeared in the middle of the field, and then immediately disappeared into the shadows of the stone pillars that stood in the middle of the field.

At the same time, his opponent also threw his Pokéball.

"Come out, Beautifly!"

A Beautifly with a beautiful physique and gorgeous looks appeared on the field just like that. Her size was half a point smaller than a normal Beautifly, but her pair of wings was a circle larger than a normal Beautifly.

"Nicely bred Beautifly."

Rope couldn't help but marvel at his opponent's Pokémon as he looked at it.

After all, the Beautifly in front of him had really been bred quite well, and it looked battle-hungry. It was important to realize that Beautifly's status in the Hoenn region was that of a Kanto region Pokémon.

It basically doesn't have any strength that can be particularly praised.

But because of its beautiful appearance. But because of its beautiful appearance and the fact that the Pokémon Contest is the most popular in the Hoenn region, Beautifly is a Pokémon with a high possession rate in the Hoenn region.

And to be able to breed a Pokémon that everyone basically has with different characteristics is an ability in itself.

The opposite party, Irido, didn't say anything. His face was cold as he observed the shadows of those stone pillars, wary of Gastly's sudden attack.

Seeing that his opponent had entered a fighting stance, Rope could only shrug his shoulders and then prepare for battle.

Honestly he still couldn't raise his spirits too much. After all, his opponent was too weak. The Beautifly in front of him hadn't even touched the edge of the Dao Hall level, so how could he compete with Gastly.

One should know that Gastly's strength was close to the Daokan level when it was not subdued by Rope. Under Rope's reinforcement and training, the current Gastly had already been a dojo level Pokémon.

The evolution was just a matter of a thought.

That's the downside of advancing too fast: Pokémon evolution isn't just about reaching an energy level. It's also about being mentally prepared.

That is to say, there has to be the understanding that I'm close to evolving with this thought in mind.

But because of Rope's reinforcement, they progress so quickly that the energy level goes up, but that thought often hasn't reacted yet.

That's what's happening to Gastly right now, and Chimchar as well.

With their strength, it wasn't uncommon for them to evolve two Rope segments in a row, not to mention evolving one...

"Gastly, Will-O-Wisp!"

Only Gastly, this guy was in the habit of being sinister, even if Rope gave the order, Gastly was already stalking in the shadows. Only there was black Will-O-Wisp oozing out of the ground and then billowing upwards.

Like a rain of Will-O-Wisp that turned heaven and earth upside down.

"Beautifly! Quiver Dance Dodge!"

Irido also gave the order in time.

"Beauty-fly~"

Beautifly danced a beautiful and mysterious dance, dodging all the Will-O-Wisp.

Rope raised one eyebrow and couldn't help but marvel, "What a beautiful move."

Combining Quiver Dance with dodging wasn't new; Dragon Dance and even bodybuilding could be combined with dodging. Rope wasn't surprised at all.

But to be able to dance the Quiver Dance so beautifully was a rare thing.

Rope felt like going back to the original world to watch a waltz.

"Thanks for the compliment, Beautifly, find your spot and use the Bug Buzz!"

Bug Buzz is a skill that uses vibrations to send out sound waves to attack. A normal Bug Buzz should be like noise, attacking with a raucous and harsh sound.

But Irido's Bug Buzz was a clear and moving sound.

Although it sounded good, Rope still felt a paroxysm of pain in his eardrums.

The special thing about this Bug Buzz was that it was more than just a nice sound. I'm only afraid that the power is also a higher level of powerful.

Where Bug Buzz passed, the dust and small rocks on the ground vibrated along with it, and then the small rocks were shattered.

Gastly emerges from the shadows in pain, then stares viciously at Beautifly and quickly flees the center of the Bug Buzz.

A smile appears on Entryway's face. Looking over to Rope, he realizes that Rope is still calm as usual. Like nothing had happened.

''Hmph! Putting on an act!''

Once again, a hint of viciousness flashed in Irido's eyes.

Then he quickly inclined his head and proceeded to order, "Beautifly, use Silver Air Cutter!"

It sounded like a new skill, but Rope could tell with a quick glance that it was a combination of Air Cutter plus Silver Wind.

Let's just say that sometimes this combination of skills is really quite impressive, especially in Pokémon Contest, being both offensive and having a decent amount of flashy value. Great skills indeed.

Rope doesn't know where Irido's hostility towards him is coming from, but that won't stop Rope from teaching him a lesson.

What seemed like a great skill was ultimately flashy.

"Gastly, Shadow Ball!"

Gastly, who was being chased by Beautifly, turned around, then gathered a burning Shadow Ball in his mouth before blasting it towards Beautifly in the back.

"Avoid with Quiver Dance again!"

A smile with a hint of sarcasm appeared on Irido's face.

This kind of panic is really exactly the same as those second generation's daily practice, isn't it?

Is this the extent of those guys who follow and learn at the side of a famous teacher?

"Beautifly, finish him, Giga Drain!"

In the audience, Wallace regretfully said, "It's over, he's still too gullible."

"Yeah, still an immature trainer after all. It wouldn't be too much to say it's half-assed."

Cynthia also said with slight regret.

Daisy nodded in agreement, seriously, the two moves she had just entered the path had also amazed her for a moment. Unfortunately it was only for a moment.

"Beautifly!!!"

The words of Irido's command hadn't even left his lips. The sound of Beautifly's scream came to her ears.

A black, flaming ball of shadow suddenly sprang out of the shadows on the ground at some point, then blasted straight into Beautifly's body.

"You're still too careless. I don't know what you're hating on. But no doubt your emotions interfere with your judgment."

Rope's flat, emotionless words rang in Irido's ears.

Irido looked at Beautifly, who was falling from the air, and Gastly, who was floating out of the shadows, and then back to Rope, who had a bland look on her face.

Rope continued, "Seriously, all of your moves are gorgeous, and not too offensive. It's very suitable for Beautifly who has a strong desire to attack. but... your combat experience is too poor. Formal battles aren't really your thing right now. Perhaps your stage should still be the Magnificent Assembly."

It's really just trash talk. It's bullshit that one match can tell if someone is fit for a formal match.

Even Red grew up learning the rules and mindset of formal tournaments.

It's not unusual for a player who was competing in Pokémon Contest to be beaten up by the community when he suddenly comes to an official tournament where old silver coins are gathered...

But Rope wouldn't bother explaining anything after the tournament.

It doesn't matter what someone who harbors ill will towards you still has ill will for. Fight back and be done with it.

If you can't beat him, just lay down and go at it.

Anyway, life is a cycle of cartwheeling over others and being cartwheeled over.

Of course, it's not unheard of for someone to be cartwheeled once and never get up again.

Hopefully, the path of initiation is not such a person.

Of course, what does yes or no have to do with Rope. There are tons of talented teenagers out there. How many could be more accomplished than Ash? Don't card Ash as goofy, but his talent is really strong.

"Beautifly is unable to battle, please ask the entry contestant to send out the next Pokémon!!!"
