Rope looked at the ice cube and was truly brave. Even in this situation she still sacrificed herself to preserve the Origin.
They might not know the significance of the Origin's preciousness. But without a doubt, they knew that the Origin should never be given to their enemies.
"Her name is Sennogi, she is my trainer."
The voice of the Milotic leader suddenly came from behind them.
Rope didn't turn around, surely Hoopa would have warned him if there was any real danger.
Plus, it was on the ground now. As long as it wasn't in the water, Rope didn't carry fear.
"Your trainer is really good." Rope would never mince his words when it came to such a truly praiseworthy person.
"Thank you for the compliment." Milotic accepted Rope's praise for his trainer seriously, then said with a responsible face.
"She's very powerful. It's just a shame that I, we're not strong enough to protect her."
When she said this, Rope even heard a hint of despair in Milotic's tone.
And just then, Rope suddenly realized a hint of something wrong.
"Why can you talk to me directly now?"
Rope suddenly reacted to the question, then frowned as she asked the question.
This was a question about the mental and cerebral aspects, so he couldn't afford to be half-hearted.
"It's the power of the Origin." Milotic explained, "I am now using the power of the Origin to talk to you. The Origin that is frozen is the translation between you and me."
Rope understood at that point. In fact, it was essentially similar to superpower telepathy. It's just that this method uses Origin energy instead of superpowers.
Rope hadn't thought that Origin Energy could actually be used in this way.
Wait, could his own flame ability do the same thing?
Rope pondered seriously for a moment, then decided to give it a good try once he was done here.
And for now, it was time to pull back to business.
"Tell us a little bit about the story here. As I'm sure you can tell, we really don't mean any harm."
Rope said with a light smile. This time Milotic didn't contradict Rope. But neither did he agree with Rope's statement.
It felt more like he was resigned to his fate. After all, he didn't have much room for resistance in the current situation.
Rope also ignored Milotic's complicated feelings. Just looking forward to the next part of the story.
So after organizing his thoughts for a few moments, Milotic used an ethereal and distant voice to tell a cruel story.
————————
There was a guest in the village. That wasn't so unusual. After all, the village was on the edge of the Great Lake. There were always a lot of people who wanted to come here to the Great Lake to catch some water-based Pokémon, and by the way, they would land in the village to recuperate.
But the guests who came this time seemed a bit different. The people in the village indeed people were indeed hospitable. But there was no precedent of the whole village coming out just to welcome one person like today.
"It is said to be the descendant of someone who once lived in a village an unknown number of years ago." A girl with clear eyebrows and peach blossom eyes said with a yawn.
Another girl with a girl-next-door look shook her leg and said in a perceptive manner, "Poor relatives come to the door and the village head wants to show off himself."
The peach blossom eyed girl gave her a thumbs up and said, "Worthy of being 'Poisonous' Sennogi, simple and clear."
Sennogi rolled her eyes at the peach-eyed girl and said, "How much better can you be than me, Shina."
Shina laughed softly before continuing, "But you really don't have any interest? Supposedly that guy seems to be quite handsome."
Sennogi silently shook her head before looking at the large lake in front of her without speaking.
"Are you still thinking about that guy? Stop it Sennogi, that person is unreal. He doesn't even exist."
Shina sighed helplessly as she saw her best friend showing this sad and wistful look once again.
The wind blew in from the lake, bringing with it a gentle caress.
Sennogi lifted her wind-blown sideburns behind her ear and said lightly, "I just want to thank him, he saved me back then, there's no reason for me not to go looking for him."
"But Sennogi, are you going to wait for him for the rest of your life if he doesn't show up? Such an emotion you tell me is gratitude..."
Shina also looked helpless. what is in Sennogi's mind everyone in the whole village knows. Everyone though had never met the man that Sennogi was talking about. But they are also willing to believe that this girl is not lying.
Just suffer those who fall in love with Sennogi man.
People ah, can not meet too stunning people at a young age. Sometimes one look really can be mistaken for a lifetime.
"So you're not going to the bonfire today either?"
Shina asked, speaking again.
Sennogi shook her head rightfully.
Shina wasn't persuading either, and just smiled lightly and said, "Then Sister will go to meet this poor relative and see what kind of goods people really are."
After saying that, without turning her head back, she walked towards the distant village with a bounce.
Milotic's head lifted up from the water. He looks at the lightly smiling Sennogi and the departing Shina and shakes his head slightly.
Sennogi reaches out to stroke his head and says, "Why, do you think I should go too?"
Milotic nodded without hesitation.
He had seen the man. Didn't get a good look at the face though. But after all, he really knew that man's existence.
But a moment later he nodded again seriously. Maybe Sennogi really shouldn't go. For some reason he always had a bad feeling about it.
Sennogi gently stroked his head and smiled, ''You should also quickly return to the Water Source Shrine. If it's a guest, the village chief will definitely bring the guest to see you. If he realizes you're not here, then you'll be in trouble."
Milotic nodded as he listened. It was true, Sennogi was cute and kind though. But that village elder brother of hers was anything but cute and kind.
Well, at least in Milotic's opinion.
So after waving his tail towards Sennogi, Milotic dove into the water and followed his secret passage back to the middle of his shrine.
Then again, Milotic, who was resting in the temple, suddenly heard violent explosions and roars.
There were also screams coming from humans and Pokémon.
The Milotic's behind him were a little scared.
He frowned and swam towards the top.
Not having swum far, it suddenly occurred to him that he should have gone the other way. So he swam towards his secret passage.
Looking up again, he saw the light of a fire before he came out of the water.
The first thing he saw when he surfaced was the fire that burned like the sky.
"Mi...lotic..."
Milotic heard Sennogi's voice and immediately lowered his head to look over. Sennogi, who was like an eye, was gray and had some blood stains. Cloaked hair and a wretched figure.
Milotic was filled with shock and anger.
"Fallacy! (Who did this!)"
Sennogi and Milotic had been together for a long time, and the tacit understanding on the two was still strong. So Sennogi understood Milotic's words as well.
"Never mind...so much. Take me to the...shrine first."
Sennogi didn't look injured, but judging from her weakened behavior, something bad had definitely happened to her as well.
During the time that Sennogi and Milotic were conversing, a black shadow came running from the distance.
Without waiting for Sennogi to speak, Milotic realized that something was wrong here. So he hurriedly picked Sennogi up with his own eyebrows. Then dived into the water. Swimming towards the water source shrine.
Soon enough, getting the black shadow came to the shore, and looking at the place where Sennogi used to lie, the corner of the man's mouth curled up into a sneer.
Then it turned around again and rushed towards the tallest building in the village that had not yet been covered in flames at a speed that was beyond the reach of normal humans.
Where was the above ground portion of the Water Source Shrine. Although the really important places around this one were underground, or even underwater. But in the end, it couldn't really be resisted by someone with a heart.
Milotic dragged Sennogi to the Water Source Shrine.
Sennogi spat out a mouthful of water, then struggled to get up and walk towards the mass of watery blue energy.
"Woo~~ (Sennogi, what are you doing?)"
It wasn't just the Milotic leader who had such a question, the other Milotic were also looking at Sennogi, wondering what the girl wanted to do.
"I'm fine. You guys go save the people. A lot of people are trapped in the sanctuary of the temple."
With that, Sennogi embraced the Water Origin into her arms. The huge sphere of water unfolded almost instantly. It enveloped the Origin of Water and Sennogi all together.
I don't know what Sennogi did, but the ball of water actually started to turn into ice.
And Sennogi's eyes in the water became more and more bland.
More and more peaceful, as if sleeping peacefully.
But Milotic knew that Sennogi was sealed.
And the water element outside was surging.
"Woo~ (Save!)"
The Milotic leader shouted this after giving Sennogi a pain-filled look.
He then took the lead and left the temple, swimming towards the top.
The other Milotic's followed closely behind them.
But by the time they arrived. The entire waters had turned blood red.
The Milotic's who floated to the surface against the smell of blood looked up and saw that kind of hell on earth.
They looked at the hundreds of corpses in shock. Those who had once been their friends were now desperate, dead and cold on the ground. There was no more breathing or heartbeat.
And on the shore, there was another person standing there.
"Oh, Milotic catalyzed by the Origin of Water? The more you come there are still people who can put the Origin to use instead of worshipping them like gods, huh?"
The man laughed softly as the water was rising beneath his feet. Soon it was past his calves. And the man didn't have a single change of color in his face.
"No wonder that girl was able to seal the Origin of Water autonomously ah. It seems like I really didn't make a mistake in doing this thing of killing this village of yours clean."
The man spoke as if he was addressing the Milotic's, and as if he was talking to himself.
"But that's good...I don't have to bother sealing it yet. Just leave it here as a sense."
With that said the man pulled a clear ring out of his own pocket and tapped it in the water, the ring turned a turquoise blue color.
The man brought the ring to his hand. Then he turned around without any defense.
Milotic subconsciously tried to attack the man. But for some reason he suddenly shivered. Looking at the sea of blood and floating corpses in front of him, Milotic was momentarily in a daze.
When he turned back he realized that he couldn't even see a bit of courage in the eyes of his own kind.
Milotic let out a long sigh and dived back into the water.
————————————
"So...did you get a good look at the guy's face?"
Rope asked, speaking with some curiosity.
Milotic shook his head.
It was too dark, and it was still under such horrible circumstances. Even if he had seen that person's face, he might have forgotten it long ago.
This was something Rope could understand at the time. It was really too scary a situation. It was either to be memorized or forgotten. With what Rope had learned about these Milotic during this short time together. Keeping such things in mind would be basically irrelevant to them.
Beauty was all that was left.
Rope didn't open her mouth to accuse something. There was time to point fingers and go without the ability to make others better then it was better to go and improve yourself and make yourself as good as you could be, and could go and fill in the holes and the regrets.
"Rope, there's someone else collecting Origin... what does he want?"
Hoopa asked with some doubt.
But the biggest feeling right now was not one of doubt, but pity...what kind of blood luck had Al Zeus gotten himself into. No matter which Al Zeus' power was being coveted. It was as if everyone was thinking of replacing him.
Obviously the creator god is the one who is the worst off of all the gods.
Hoopa makes a mess and he has to come and wipe his ass. He has to work while the other gods chat and mingle with the sun. He has to mediate in fights between gods.
He's involved in all the world's events. You'd be lying if you said Alzheimer's wasn't tired. If you want to say that Al Zeus likes this kind of work that's even more bullshit.
If he really liked it, his main body wouldn't have just been groping for fish between the initials and then sent out all of his slate doppelgangers.
So does anyone really think that Al Zeus is replaceable?
Well, then you're straight up saying it! Al Zeus really satisfies you too maybe.
Rope also shook his head and spoke after a moment, ''It's nothing more than power or rights, or perhaps immortality, resurrection. Human pursuits are always so plain and uninteresting."
Hoopa shook his head in some confusion. It really didn't understand why humans would be so rare for such things.
That's why the gods won't understand humans. They had all these things you wanted to begin with. What makes you expect you guys to understand each other?
Rope had no intention of explaining to him either.
Reaching out his hand he was ready to make contact with the seal.
"Who! Who did this! Why is the origin all dissipated!"
The man shouted angrily as he looked at the wrecked temple in front of him.
But the temple was empty and no one could answer him.
His endless wrath could only be in vain. And what he didn't know was... something even more infuriating was yet to come.
